The best cranks you can use from Shimano are the 105 R7000 cranks, and always have been. Just 50-70g heavier than Ultegra - but they are produced slightly different - the crankarms are hollow-forged and not bonded together like Ultegra/Dura-Ace. That being said the production process of the Ultegra/Dura-Ace (R8000/R9100) cranks changed a bit from July 2019, with a different adhesive/bond used. After that production date they aren't included in the recall. Also the newer Shimano 12-speed cranks work fine with 11-speed systems!

I know that even Hambini recommends just going to the 105 cranks and does so himself. He's been on those for a while even before the recall was made official so yes another great option especially if you're not wanting to change bottom brackets like with any of these.

I replaced my broken ultegra with the easton alloy on my canyon. Very happy with it. I built up a new custom bike last year and moved to the easton carbon. Love it too. Built a Ti bike this year and tried Praxis. Except for having to use the official praxis bb (they have odd sized spindles) it has really great chainring sets. You can get exactly what you want for any type of riding you decide to do.

Shimano GRX. Road spacing , Shimano XT level durability :) direct replacement.

The most "modern" Shimano crankset on any of my bikes is Ultegra 6601, and given Shimano's handling of the bad cranks issue, I'll never own anything newer.

People coming from shimano and wanting an easy swap will be looking for a 24mm spindle, not a 30. Rotor Aldhu has one and your shimano rings will fit them as well. Only downside is, no carbon option,so pretty heavy. The other 24mm option is I reckon Magene.

correct, but that's why I picked these options with a wide variety of BB shell offerings to switch out to a 30mm and not have to worry about a new BB fitting their bikes shell. So yes you would be going from a 24mm spindle and changing out the BB as well. If someone doesn't want to switch then yes that rotor and staying 24mm spindle would be a great option.
