i still get so proud when i think about iu saying(during this interview) that onew was her favorite male vocalist and wanted to collab with him.

This was such an amazing cover, it never fails to make me emotional ♥ SHINee and IU have known each other since debut (they debuted in the same year). She has such a great voice (you should try to listen to her latest songs Lilac and Coin^^). She sang together with Key once in 2010, with Taemin in 2012 (I think) and had a cameo in a drama with Minho (hoping for a collab with Onew someday🤞🏻). She's one of Jjong's closest friends and her song "Gloomy Clock" was written and composed by him. Originally he made it for his album, but when he sent her the song asking for her opinion, she told him to give it to her instead and the song was sold within 3 hours :)

IU is fantastic. Just for context, she's Korea's most successful musician of the 21st century (measured by chart performance) - with 21 of the 100 most successful singles. For comparison, BTS have 4 and Blackpink have 3 of them, whilst the next closest artist have 5. She's had 30 number 1 songs in the past decade. She's not reached the same level of international fame as those groups, but domestically she's almost certainly number 1. In 2021 she had 4 number 1 singles and won grand prize awards for her singles and her album. What makes her even more remarkable though, is her overall musical talent. She can play 3 instruments (primarily guitar & piano, though she doesn't perform with them often), and since 2013 (four years after her debut) has written most of her songs, as well as composing and producing some of them. Technically it makes her the most successful songwriter over the same period and her lyrics are outstanding. But not only that, she's a fantastic actress - she has won awards, most notably in My Mister which is a top 5 rated korean drama of all time, as well as the commercially successful Hotel Del Luna and some strong performances in other shows such as Persona, The Producers and Dream High. She's also a fantastic host - the show with SHINee is called "Palette", which is broadcast on her RU-vid channel. At the Golden Disc Awards - the same show Lee Hi performed Breathe, IU won album of the year and gave a really heart-warming speech telling the industry to take better care of themselves. She's also ridiculously down to earth and wholesome, she was the youngest person named in Forbes Asia's list of philanthropists and she has given several million dollars to charities over the past few years. I'd love to see you react to some IU content. I would say the most notable performances available on RU-vid are the 2017 MMA performance of Dear Name (the song SHINee covered here, in the performance she showcased a number of aspiring musicians and made half the audience cry), 'Hold My Hand' 2019 Live Clip, which went viral last year for being her cutest performance, and the music video to 'eight' ft Suga. There's a special connection with the eight video, as the animation features SHINee's Jonghyun as the dragon and Sulli as the girl in white. They were both IU's friends in the industry before they committed suicide. In the lyrics/video IU asks if they're happy now and wants to preserve her memories of them. You could also react to her cover of "Sherlock" which she performed on the same show.
