ShineMate EB210 & EX620 Review: Correcting & Coating My C8 With Adam's Graphene Advanced

I picked up my 2023 Corvette Stingray a few weeks ago of course I had to ceramic coat. For any great ceramic application a paint correction is a must! I chose Adam's Polishes Graphene Ceramic Coating Advanced for this beautiful car. Fortunately our friends at CARZILLA were kind enough to provide me two polishers for this test. The ShineMate EB210 and EX620 were used to compound and polish the paint to a brilliant shine. In this video I will review the two polishers and the ceramic coating.

I really was looking forward to purchasing the EB210 because they actually make 4. Different heads for this machine and not just the 3 that it comes with. I was really excited, and I am glad that I saw this video. I pulled the plug on, making the purchase. After seeing the pad coming off like this is not acceptable!!!! The supposed time and money that shinemate spent on the development of the EB210 and for this to keep happening with the pad coming off is really disappointing. Don't they do tests on this unit? Apparently, they don't because this issue should have been fixed before they released the product.Not to allow your customer to run into issues like this😊

Yea it's a shame, because I'm very excited about the machine otherwise. They thought so many things through well, but then just totally missed on the backing plate issue. I did pass this info up to CARZILLA to share with ShineMate, but I agree it's disappointing. I literally like everything else about this unit except this one issue. It would have gotten a total rave review otherwise.

I have seen another video that says the ball bearing on the back of the backing plate needs to be compressed while being fitted for it to work properly. I'm not sure if this will solve the issue though as I don't have the unit yet myself.

@Dmitry's Garage The guys over at carzila are very good. I had asked them previously a lot of questions about this unit before and were responsive. The other issue I found out is that the backing plates they make for this unit are proprietary. You can't put any other backing plate on this unit, but there's.

@@perfectshave85 Yea I mean you sort of push and twist it into the fitting while holding the wrench so it doesn't spin.

Ive had the eb210 for about two months and you are right about the backing plate coming off but what i find weird is that i purchased my eb210 through carzilla and i also got a 12mm DA head that has a backing plate that threads on. I only use that one so i never deal with that problem. Great little machine

Yea it's definitely not just me and ShineMate has responded. I was just recently shipped new backing plates and you should be able to get yours replaced as well if you contact Carzilla. I do agree its a great machine and hopefully the new plates solve the issue (haven't tested mine yet).

PXE80 still shits on every 3-1 inch polisher. Eb210 has some weird quirks about it like the backing plate being weird sizes so it only fits shinemates pads properly. Same with the griots micro polisher.

ShineMate/corvette!!!! Yes. All day. MeGuires and Adam’s? I will pay out of my own pocket to send you Kronos and the Phoenix EOD line of compounds.

Meguire’s has excellent cutting agents. They make a lot of basic detailing stuff like Adam’s so I think they get a negative rep for not being boutique, but both companies have excellent products in their portfolio. I do have most the Phoenix EOD lineup as well, its good stuff. Will be testing Kronos coating soon and see how it compares in my test suite against Adam’s and others.

The C8s are beautiful until I see the front end. The headlights and nose are pretty but then they ruined it with all the gigantic black plastic grills across the front. Maybe if the black plastics were the same color as the car it might look better. The C7 ZO6 was almost perfect to me.

It's funny how subjective this is, I personally don't like the rear end. They made it too wide (to fit golf clubs) and I don't play golf. The rear end almost looks like the front end of a GMC Denali but a bit slicker. I do like the front but the side shot is absolutely perfect.
