Flash did a VERY good job to win this from so far behind... 3 base vs 6 base should be an absolute defeat, but he managed to slow push his way through. However, I think a lot of it was more from Bisu's mistakes. Flash did well to minimize the damage from the Reaver drop, which reduced Bisu's Robotics investment into nothing more than a temporary contain, which he used well to expand. But from there, he stuck to Zealots and Dragoons. He needed High Templars and Psi Storm to seal the win.
@marty536 The beginning he was losing after he got gas stolen and was forced to go marines with late factories. But then he brought it back. Such a champion.
@llmbs Yeah... Vultures are dirt cheap compared to the damage the can potentially deal... It's unreal... Spend a few hundred on them, drop a crapload of mines, and you have map control until they get detection. By then you're up on eco and can reinforce critical positions with a mass of Siege Tanks. That's exactly what Flash did here. He was being pressured in his front choke, so he used Vultures to stall the position, then reinforced it until he had enough to push out.
yeah no doubt that was a long era of winning by that tactic by the winner ... took a long time till they found out how to deal with it he just controls the units so well...
@huntercross14 because from the looks of it, SC2 has been made noob-friendly. SC2 automates a lot of things that players used to do manually = = but they may eventually switch over like some of the other progamers did, who knows
@Oreoclan Yeap. I deal with this all the time. Reaver harrass and dt drops seems pointless to me. If it fails chances are your going to be behind. Terran usually sets up a turret to stop all shuttle drops, then they proceed to tank massing with vultures for instant map control. I know this game is way old but vultures are OP imo. Im tired of dicking around with goons trying to clear mine fields this is where i start losing
@vicioso82 I didnt say Jamb was better than bisu.. but Jamb is one of the bests at using Templars, Flash 99% of the time when he go to defensive 2/3bases DO TIME ATTACKS, Bisu could have done easily 1 recall on top but he didnt.. Templars is one of the best weapons against Time Terran attacks
Bisu had so much opportunities to win. - why not killing scvs with dragoon range but firing bunker? he had quite a lot dragoons to attack - why creating reaver. its almost always useless against terran - creating high templars was too late the main loose started when he tried to stop terran to expand with new base and loose almost all dragoons, because they went to this new base location. that was main edge of the game.
@shakazhan99 but compared to sc2, ill say BW is balanced enough. im gonna give sc2 some time before it can mature into a more adjusted game for all players alike
Dunno. Guys. I am toss player. So I hear ya on - vulture + tanks strategy... Seems REALLY imbalanced. I feel the pain every single time. However, having seen some Stork and Bisu games against other terran players. We can say the same thing about toss... Rever drops = huge economy damage. Pri Storms can wipe out mass units like crazy + arbiter recall AND freezing abilty... I mean its a nightmare for terran player... Flash is just a freak show... Toss fo life ^_^
I'm pretty sure Bisu was way ahead on minerals and gas... Expansions everywhere and yet they all got taken out by the FACTORY combos... Not saying Bisu is bad... He was ahead at the start of the game.. It's just that Flash's micro is way OP... Like seriously he was denying like 3-4 of Bisu's expansion at the same time...
It's 3-1 for SKT1, then KT just send out FlaSh and... BOOM, it's 3-4 for KT, truly the Ultimate Weapon, he's simply so far, far away other progamers right now, although i'm a Zerg and i like SaviOr/Jaedong (Jd'd have more chance to beat FlaSh in the old days, but now he just got like 30% or lower) Also congratz to the new champion team, they must've so proud that they got a progamer like FlaSh, they should stay as KTFlaSh instead of KT Rolster, lol
@vOddy75 If u mean Scouts thing then yes.... learned my lesson few weeks back. Scouts are insanely bad against Terran. Other than that everything else I said still holds true.
@WavesOfTrolls going corsair take up too much gas so you can't go arbiter and corsair only good for dweb against terran. Arbiter make terran waste scan to see cloaked unit, it can also stasis tanks, and make terran waste money on turrets for recall def.
I see how bisu feels. Im a protoss player. Toss is easy to use but hard to control. Any terran can leap frog seige its hella easy. I still feel terran is slightly stronger than toss. I dont fear tanks. I fear vultures. They cost no money are pain.
@DaMnUFo0 Neither is Broodwar it has a bunch of design mistakes that allowed player skill to balance it ( muta micro ) as one example and strategies BW is not balanced you cannot balance an RTS 100%
Bisu threw away too many units in the first battle, not leading with his zealots then did a bermuda recall (few units) outside Flash's natural which was why he lost. Bisu could have dropped HT to storm the tanks and goliaths at the front like. This is just my humble opinion :)
Also. I don't get wy people don't use scouts. I mean with speed and range upg they are good for snipping Science Vessels and killing unguarded tanks + great for harrassing (similar to mutas). I know they are not cost effective, but its better to spend money on scouts, than to get emp'd lose HT, Arbiter and dk's due to vision. Scouts = the shizl... ^^
i just watched about 7 matches in the last few days, and bisu won all of them... then flash comes and makes him look like a noob... they say just before the GG, you're life Lee Young Ho's before your eyes. =P
