I've had my original clinch pick for the past 2 years, and I have had it on me almost every day since. I have bought other knives because I liked the idea of it but alays found myself going back to the clinch pick. The only other knive I have carried as much is his push dagger, which is also a great knife

If I drove any vehicle for work I'd carry it. But if there was some reason that you seriously couldn't carry a blade, there are other things that can be used. If someone starts training with tactical pens or even carrying regular pencils that are extremely sharp , that works. There are a bunch of good guys making pencils with Oak wood. Sharpie markers with G10 or titanium inside. It's not what you use, but how you use it. It's not what you do, but how you do it. Even 15 minutes a day. Striking at home. Shadow boxing in your kitchen. Something is better than nothing . Be safe !

Those are beautiful! Wow! A little out of my range though. Something to mention on the beginner side with that double edge - beginners may be subconsciously wired to put that thumb on the top since a majority of any type of knife is single edged. Even a kitchen paring knife.

Your comment has absolutely massive value. This is extremely important. My thoughts exactly. I train with everything. My last 2 fixed blade purchases were double edged. I will take a break for a while, to build some good muscle memory, and connection ,to my newest blades. Sometimes I'm doing knife drills with a single edged blade and it feels right for certain blade designs to put the thumb on the back. Have you seen the Tops knives. Felony Stop? It's double edged and there is jimping for your thumb on the spine? That's a head scratcher , confusing statement by me, if your not already familiar with that blade design ! Haha Tops Loner is my newest for now. Take a look at it. Crazy super sexy double edge!

Have you ever had it fall off ? Snap on belt loop came undone from walking? It happened to me once , years ago, started using the hole in the sheath for added paracord attachment. I'm curious about the difference. Lanyard hole in the 2.0 as well as the old egg shaped first one, but not in the blacked out double edged? What do you think? Ever use the lanyard hole?

This was a couple years back and interesting fact that I did not know at the time was the lung heals very quickly. After getting the drain removed I was in the water surfing 3 weeks later. Light exercise nothing heavy. Interesting what happened to me in the hospital though because there was a older chap next to me and his son came to visit him. When he walked in and saw me next to his dad he 😁 and said ahh you where stabbed weren't ya. I said yes how did you know. He lifted his shirt. He also had a drain because his lung collapsed. I am concerned that at point of deployment my thumb would slide across the blade regardless of training. I also have been involved in several "points of contact" outside of work, when I was younger. In every case it got up close in seconds. Once physical involvement began, it was on the ground in seconds.

Great video. I'm glad you stressed training concerning differences in technique with a reverse blade. I've wanted one since it came out as it does the things I've wanted that no one else has delivered. MY concern: I'm 65, just retired. I've used my knife more than 1000 times a day for the last 35 years. In every instance my thumb is forward. I am concerned that at point of deployment my thumb would slide across the blade regardless of training. I also have been involved in several "points of contact" outside of work, when I was younger. @Xdriftninjax
@Xdriftninjax Год назад
@@JasonWild_Pig_Hunter D2 isn't always inexpensive though, unless it comes from China. The Clinch picks are made in China so they could make a more affordable option with Chinese made D2. D2 isn't a bad steel and honestly might be overkill considering the knife is meant as a last ditch self defense tool, it could be made from 3CR13mov and still handle the task at hand and then be dirt cheap.
@JasonWild_Pig_Hunter
@JasonWild_Pig_Hunter Год назад
@@Xdriftninjax True. I've got some custom blades made with 1/4 inch thick D2 and 3/16 and they were expensive. The clinch picks are made in China. I'm happy there is no stamp anywhere that says Made in China . Question. I'm asking your opinion on something. The double edged does not have a LANYARD HOLE. The other clinch picks do. The trainers have a lanyard hole. I'm looking at both trainers in my hand right now. Any ideas on the design change? It could mean many things. We are guessing. I don't think the double edged needs a lanyard . Some people find they get in the way . Thanks in advance for chatting about it.

The Tops Unzipper would be perfect if the tip was double edged. Just an inch. When I held it in hand I felt my hand would be safe even during extremely hard use ,for any grip you choose to handle it with . The handle is very grippy. Excellent textured handle. Feels good. The handle is also big. You won't lose it, even with water , blood , dirt, anything on it. BUT, if you were sitting down, riding the bus it would not be as comfortable as a clinch pick. It would dig into your side.

The idea of a CQC knife is that they dont know you have one and never will until the very last second. This isnt really a EDC knife in that your not gonna be at work and have this knife in your configuration because most if not all shirts for a appropriate size are already on the small side and just even raising your arms above your head will raise your shirt above belt level and will present the knife even if you hide it behind your belt. There needs to be a better way to disguise it. I would suggest behind the waist band.

Finally someone on RU-vid with HONEST comment to that overhyped marketing gimmick called pikal, by guys who have totaly no clue about realistic knife using. YES THAT SHIT HAAAAS LIMITATIONS ‼️It can not do anything a normal knife cant do ‼️just turn your knife in your hand and you have a CP if you need. BUT if Double Edged, than it's an different game ‼️ I would never carry Something else than a Double Edged knife, even with full serration. A knife must be able to cut in every instinktive movement, every Angle, every Situation and Position to your opponent. So it can only be a Double Edged knife. Blade Style/angle like the Tops Felony Stop or the Marcaida DMAX. Maybe some Double Edged pikals out there or a serrated dagger. The Tops unzipper has a bigger handel than this CP, and can be customized to Double Edged. Than its better than CP.

@411Outdoors
@411Outdoors Год назад
The reverse can seem a little different until you get a chance to move, flow and train with it. It’s primary’s point driven system. What we gain is the ability to hook anything that’s gets in the way of our thrust line. I like the way clinch pick can be mounted and pulled as opposed to the Kabar. It’s a very scenario specific blade esp if trapped in a. Very tight space in an altercation

Typically people can pull better than push, especially if you are either in someones grip or on the ground. So if you are in that situation and because the blade is on the reverse side, you can be more effective. Additionally it feels more comfortable for me to rotate my wrist up as compared to down and if someone is grabbing my arm it is more likely to be from the top of the arm vice the bottom so the attackers arm will be more in line with the sharp edge. I have both, I carry the Clinch Pick.
