I saw Shockwave up close & personal at our local air show last June. Standing roughly 75-80 yards behind that truck in the crowd when it went full out afterburner, SHIT THAT THING WAS THE LOUDEST ANYTHING AT ALL I HAVE EVER HEARD IN MY LIFE AND HOT ENOUGH TO LIGHT MY CIGARETTE AT THAT DISTANCE!!!!!!!!
Imagine blasting past a Ferrari in that thing. They'd be driving down the road thinking they are hot shit. Then out of nowhere the earth starts to shake gently beneath their wheels. The confusion sets in slowly. They might wonder if they are having an engine problem. All of a sudden their chests are vibrating and all they hear is a deafening roar as they see a blur of semi truck and flaming death blaze past them at 200 mph. It'd be glorious for sure.
I have actually seen a truck just like this race a fucking airplane at a big show I went to years back, incredible machines if all you want is a straight line. I still remember the heat of the thrusters, just incredible to see and feel!
Yes,it is absolutely great I totally recommend buying it its rommy, big and it gets you from a to b quite fast and most importantly it's efficient as a proud!though for some reason I keep getting tickets because its too loud somehow but other than that it's great!and it's also the perfect starter
The first six years this video had about 15 views. Its since strangely skyrocketed recently. No idea why. Whats even stranger are people subscribing. Oooo K.
All the people heading out to their vehicles might as well sit back down and watch the fireworks. Last time I was at NED it took almost 2 hours to get out of the parking lot.
The truck has three Westinghouse J34-48 jet engines, with a total output of 36,000 horsepower, which allows the truck to complete the quarter-mile in 6.63 seconds. Shockwave is currently being driven by Chris Darnell, who uses the truck to compete against planes going 300 miles per hour (480 km/h) in a rolling drag race at airshows, often winning. It consumes fuel at a rate equal to 400 gallons per mile, even more when the afterburners are activated. To slow the truck down at the end of a race it needs 2 aircraft parachutes
Imagine being in an apocalypse with this beast of a semi! It would be called "The Demolisher" and it would have spikes installed on the front bumper to slice through some zombies!
