Shohei Pitches, Hits, Speaks English, Cooks, Fights Drug Cartels, Feeds the Homeless, Defends his Country, Rescues Princesses and would call you the real hero while saving your mother from a burning home. Dude Absolutely Slaps.
Mikes great at being humble, a lot of questions could be taken the wrong way of comparing himself and Ohtani or calling him old. Great at being teammates with each other and appreciating one another’s greatness without ego getting in the way
how could you not like this lol... i hadnt watched baseball in over a decade and when i start back, shohei, judge, tatis, soto, etc etc are all killing it. trout is god mode per usual.... such a fun time right now
Tyler Anderson as an Angel could be a game changer. Him and Shohei in the rotation will be a show to watch. The 14 game losing streak really did the Angels season. Erase that, they would have made the playoff or at least a wild card. A third pitcher as an outstanding closer is needed. With that, and a healthy Rendon, Fletcher, Trout, it could turn things around.
@@2011sliverdude Lol you think the Angels lineup consists only of Shohei and Trout? It’s not their fault their team is work in progress. Their individual stats are nothing short of amazing.
Man the MLB need to adopt a Loan system kinda like they do in Futbol/Soccer...where a team could either trade money or talent just for a few months of a Players services...i.e. Mitch white,Cody Bellinger, Gavin lux, and like 3 prospects for Either one of these two ICONS...than once the season is over send em back to Angels 😇
First thing I heard too - I actually went and googled where he grew up. Surprising to see NJ - I thought maybe he lived in the South as a child or went to school there at some point, but no - NE born and bred.
You tell a stranger to baseball that those two are probably the 2 best players in the league and they probably won't bilieve you just by listening to them
Oh look the LAA version of Freeman and Acuña when they were in ATL together... For the better understanding...their relationship it's almost like Jeter and Alex.
We have a special treat tonight, we're going to torture Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout by forcing them to hover awkwardly over us for seven minutes while we ask rote questions they are tired of hearing.
its almost like baseball is a team game with many players? Individual players only get a few chances to "touch the ball" - very different than football or basketball where one player can handle the ball most of the time
so weird that they’re the two faces of the entire sport, yet they’re on a losing team, trout clearly doesn’t want the spotlight that bad, and Ohtani english is definitely improving, but he still can’t consistently hold a conversation.
I don't understand why Otani's English ability is always discussed. His native language is Japanese. Do you think it's great to be able to speak English? So can you speak Japanese fluently? The purpose he went there was not to study abroad. We Japanese have never considered it a problem even if athletes from other countries who are active in Japan do not speak Japanese at all. Many foreign players have been active in Japanese professional baseball for a long time, but they generally do not speak Japanese or are not good at it. But in Japan, there has never been a debate about it. I'm sure you guys will also ridicule my poor English text.
I sadly agree with you. I also felt weird and uncomfortable about that they are still asking about Ohtani’s English skill. I believed All Star Game was supposed to be all about baseball and not about ESL…
I just learned more Japanese online in 2 minutes than Ohtani knows English. It is literally part of his job and he shows no interest in the American fans. He could barely say one pitch, one swing
@@toddferguson6369 If you can't speak English fluently in the United States, does that mean "that person doesn't care about his fans"? Then all the American players who are active in Japan disregard Japanese fans, right? Otani expresses his gratitude to his teammates, staff and fans in the United States every time he responds to the Japanese media. Yet the locals insult him in this way. A very sad cultural difference.
@@user-zx8ky8jr8w If you work for an American company and spend half the year in America and don't learn some English you are either too dumb or too selfish. Every Mexican here in AZ knows some English. You can make all the excuses you want. American ballplayers in Japan learn at least some conversational Japanese. Ohtani can barely say one pitch, one swing
Yeah thats right...for the two young men standing up there at the podium the Regular season is all they'll ever see...we can never put a cap on Clayton Kershaw and his GREATNESS
I've been lucky as an Angels fan to see Trout's career grow to what it has...but god damn, is the man absolutely boring on the mic. Show some damn emotion, Mike! It's no wonder why baseball can't market him. Be nice to see Trout just show his personality more, cause watching the games everyday (bless me), you can tell he's having a good time, but when he is getting interviewed, dude turns into Ben Stein
This will go down as one of the biggest failures of a franchise in sports history if they don't get at least one deep post season run. It's insane the lack of desire this organization and Arte Moreno seem to have. They have two generational players and are doing zero with them. I'd be losing my mind if I were an Angels fan.
GMs generally can't do their jobs right because Arte likes to worm his way in there and make decisions. He also penny pinchers the farm team for an awful experience, so I wouldn't be surprised if that goes all the way up. He buys star power for ticket/merch sales regardless of the team's actual needs in order to win. There's no desire to win there.
The only way he could help the team win anymore than he is now is to clone himself for the other 8 positions on the field. 3 MVP’s on a losing team says more than you think. By your logic then Griffey, Ted Williams, Ichiro, Ernie Banks, and Barry Bonds should have to give back ALL of their MVP’s because they couldn’t help their teams win SHIT over a span of 15-20 years. Such a ridiculous take.
these two are just wasting their careers in anaheim. i would know because i live in fullerton but hey, i love watching them play baseball in my backyard.
Mike Trout is clearly uncomfortable with Shohei becoming the new star in baseball. Too bad. The guy is always getting injured and is becoming more and more replaceable.
Over-rated players..fans need to come back to earth and stop making these guys gods of baseball it’s a game where players are over paid to lay down at times and don’t HUSSLE ..why pay and drive hours to watch these run shaving players!
