Short Bit: Sprouting & "Garbage" Disposals

Though we compost most of the "waste" that we produce when sprouting, we do send some down the drain. As we have a disposal, we thought we'd share this little warning in the form of this short Public Service Announcement. Better safe than calling a plumber =;-)

I got lentils sprouting in my garage disposal now!

Whoa, thanks for the warning. We don't have a disposal, but I still don't want sprouts invading the kitchen from the sink. You should write a book akin to "George and the Giant Peach". Call it "Chester and the Sprout Monster".

I cannot believe I actually found THIS topic/video on RU-vid! (thx to amazing Google). Unbelievable! For the first time in either of our entire lives, my wife and I have just experienced some sprouts actually growing out of our disposal!!! We have NEVER, EVER heard of such a thing happening. It's kinda GROSS, but kinda crazy at the same time! 8^) This has just NEVER happened to us before, and just seems SO bizarre!! Seeds had collected (somehow) just under the rubber shield ~2 wks ago.
