These flights took place in the Okbab valley in the Star Mountains, Papua, Indonesia. All the strips have very friendly people. The runways are steep but long. The scenery is breathtaking... Waterfalls and rivers sculp the valleys to perfection, proof that Nature itself is the best artist.

Pilatus Porter best aeroplane ever! Shortest take-off and landings ever and climbs like a fart out of a bath! Take 8 skydivers and I have done many, many jumps out of them. Salute!

The Bush Pilot life is some real flying. I would like to see more interaction with the villagers. It is part of the human condition not seen in a commercial aviation experience.

In commercial experience usually do not need to clean the cargo space after pigs in plastic bag :-) He has the same beige cargo pants I used to fly on weekends.. I still have them :-)

I've been to Oksibil-Okbibab (Abmisibil)-Borme-and Aboy in 2007. it was a very-very exciting journey, but stressful as it flies between mountains and valleys and grass pads between mountain gaps and ravines

Reminds me of my time flying the PC6 (piston) 50 years ago in the mountains of Papua New Guinea, not far from where these videos were taken - no electronics, basic instruments.

I flew Islanders in Papua New Guinea and Kagi to Efogi was a scheduled flight that was shorter (a tad under 1 Nm). You took off with 1500 RPM downhill and the after take off checks was Full Flaps and turn final to Efogi. You checked that the strip was clear before take off it was that close. I think both strips were about 16º. Kagi:- 09°08'09.66"S 147°40'10.35"E - Efogi:- 09°09'13.08"S 147°39'34.27”E
