MARINA DEL REY: On 04-13-24 at approximately 2200 hours, LAPD and LASD responded to the 4100 block of Via Marina. Units arrived on scene to hear several shots being fired. Officers and deputies took cover behind their vehicles as the suspect fired off rounds from an elevated position. An air unit arrived and advised the suspect had long rifles with scopes and handguns. The suspect would reload and fire rounds from the top of a structure. Bullets could be heard whistling by at the scene. LASD SEB made contact with the suspect and took him into custody without further incident. The suspect was wearing a bulletproof vest. The motive is unknown at this time. No injuries were reported.
