@@TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary The American Council of the Blind has told me that they will pursue a redesign of the $2 bill along with the higher denominations, and almost 20 years ago, the NAMA vending industry told me that my idea I had for a redesigned $2 bill to come out with the next redesigned $5 bill, simultaneously was a valid one, in order for vendors to modify machines to accept redesign $2 bills while modifying for new $5 bills, including many machines that currently do not accept even the current $2 bill, to kill two birds with one stone, so to speak, so I wonder if NAMA would still be for this idea, but I forget when the next new $5 bill is supposed to come out.

That bill may have to be larger to account for all the decimal places...

Lone wolf, there are still billions of dollar coins not in circulation, the mint produced them and out them in storage because no one wanted to use them.

That's a point we almost included in this video. There are so many $1s out there anyway right now. They can certainly cut back on them.

@@MOBMJ They used to make a 2-cent coin and two different types of 3-cent coins, a half-cent coin and a 20--cent coin, and I wish they would have went through with their original plans to print a $3 bill back in the 1860's when laws called for a U.S. $3 bill, twice, in that decade. They did have a $3 gold coin through.

They still do, but not all that often. They're not going away anytime soon.

It would still be accepted, of course. They would just stop printing new ones. But you need to watch the video first. :)

Thanks for the comment. Great story about the tree cutters. As for your other thoughts, they will not be changing the $2's design anytime soon. It has no need to look like the larger bills, which were changed in part to add security features. No $3 bills coming either. We have a video on this channel about the halves, and also one about the $500 and $1,000 bills. If you haven't seen them, look for them! Sounds like they'd be of interest.

It is already stated on the BEP website, that the American Council of the Blind is seeking design changes and features for the blind and visually impaired to every denomination it can "legally alter" and currently, the only denomination that can not legally be altered, is the $1 bill, due to the vending lobby against it. (Again, it is stated on the BEP website under the "Meaningful Access" section, that the $1 bill is the only denomination that can not be redesigned, by law) I have had a couple people with the ACB, including Clark Rachfal, who is overseeing the Meaningful Access currency redesign for the blind and visually impaired. He says that, although it's not the "center of attention" they are pursuing a redesign of ALL denominations, including the $2 bill, to make ALL U.S. currency accessible, and that, by default, not redesigning the $1 bill, but redesigning the $2-$100 bills will make all U.S. currency accessible, due to the $1 bill being the only denomination "without" a redesign. Right now, Clark has told me that the BEP is currently working on "tactile inks" and I am still pursuing a redesign of the $2 bill, regardless, and have explained to the ACB that, if the $2 bill is not redesigned with the next major currency redesign, not all currency will be accessible, and the program will be flawed, being visually impaired myself, I understand the need to redesign the $2 bill, and the $2 bill redesign is NOT for "security features" it's for features for the blind and visually impaired. I have had cashiers complain to me that the "current style" $2 bill looks too much like the current $1 bill, so this is a problem I want the ACB to address with the $2 bill, and I will still be pursuing it, and as I said, I believe if they supported me in the past, NAMA vending would support a new $2 released simultaneously with the next new $5 bill in the past, I'm sure nothing has changed on that issue with them, because, why would it? So that is what I'm working on, with the ACB and trying to get them to do. I'd love to see the video about the halves, as I know I requested you to do a video on half dollar coins, please link it to me. Oh, and speaking of which, I'd also like to see a dime and a half redesign, and there is a proposal for a redesign of ALL coin denominations, except the $1 coin, but YES including the half, as well, but I don't think it's passed yet, but the $2 bill redesign, again, for larger numerals for the visually impaired, and tactile inks for the blind should be a definite, as I do not see a good reason for the ACB to lie to me about it, and a couple people there in that organization in the past said they WILL pursue a redesign of the $2 bill for the blind and visually impaired, and I'll keep you posted, as I am trying to find out more information on what exactly is planned for the $2 bill. Who knows? Maybe it won't be a redesign, but just the addition of tactile inks to the current design, but I hope not. I hope for the total makeover to match the future redesign of the $5-$100 bills. And I will push for the $2 bill redesign, probably harder than I will push for my $3 bill, as I'm told that the Tubman $20 idea is not even a discussion itself, anymore. One other possibility I heard of, when they redesigned the $5-$100 the first time, they talked about just adding the large numeral "1" and "2" on the lower right corner of the backs of their respective denomination, while leaving the rest of the bill's design alone, which again, I'm hoping will not be the case with the $2 bill, as I want a full redesign, but they scrapped the large numeral idea for the $1 because any design change would mess with vending machine acceptance of $1 bills, which NAMA doesn't want.

You can't "make" people use anything, unless you remove all paper currency and give them no choice. The government tried to get people to use the $1 coin but no one wanted to.

Depends on the bank. Some insist you have an account there, some don't. But banks sometimes want to get rid of $2 bills if they have them, so they may think you're doing them a favor if you go in and ask for some.
