Kuzma is taking TOO much of Lonzo's SPOTLIGHT. Main Stream Media wants to downplay him. The Lakers don't want Kuzma OUTPLAYING Lonzo. Kuzma is the most consistent player on the team, even as a ROOKIE & everyone can SEE it. He has the most confidence. The Lakers DON'T like that either. He is currently leading the team in scoring(Which they won't allow). LUKE has been criticizing him the most & praising Lonzo. Instead of being happy to have TWO promising rookies. I feel sorry for Kuzma, his organization wants him to succeed...but they don't want him to exceed Lonzo(For reasons other than basketball). It's like that best friend who lowkey hates on you. ANYONE WITH EYES 👀 CAN SEE KUZMA SHOULD REMAIN A STARTER. But Larry Nance Jr will jump right back into the starting line up. When your dad says you're better than Stephen Curry when you're in college, and all this about you, you will get scrutinized even more than sone other rookies. Tatum didn't get that and he's flying under the radar even though the Celtics are the league's best. Lauri is having a good year even though the Bulls are garbage. There were plenty of rookies who struggled there first year in the NBA, and improved. Jason Kidd (the man everyone keeps comparing him to) was one of them.

I mean as a Laker fan, speaking objective, I do appreciate him rebounding the way he does and faciliating the way he does. He's averaging 7.1 rpg and 6.9 apg. I also love the two triple doubles he got already so far. But college and NBA are two different worlds contrary to what Skip thinks. Now I'm not saying he's gonna be a bust (though he plays like one most of the time). He'll be fine once he finally get his scoring mechanics together..

Lonzo is a good (could become great) passer. He's one of the best guards in the NBA at rebounding. The way I see it, if he becomes an 80-85% FT shooter and develops a floater or a jump shot, he will be an All Star for years to come. Maybe he won't be a transformative talent that will change the NBA, but I can see him being a multiple time all star which would be enough to not be classified as a bust.

Skip , Who cares about lonzo shooting 41 percent for 3's in UCLA. For one everyone knows the college line is closer. The college talent is no wheres near the NBA level, half of those college players lonzo played vs in college are not making an NBA roster. The same guys lonzo played vs in college are working regular jobs now. Some of them might be taking our order at McDonald's now.

People clinging on to the one thing he does well... rebound. Nothing impressive, sorry to say. He steals rebounds from "big men" on his own team. He isn't the only one.. Westbrook just the same. These gaueds come steals rebounds and I'm not impressed. Lonzo can't shoot, can't defend...can pass (but less impressive than I expected) and can't do much of anything else. I'm sorry, he isn't going to magically shoot better. He needs to change his form to have any hope. This is no slump skip.

I’m a diehard laker fan and I love Lonzo he’s changing the culture, and makes winning plays by second nature. He had his second triple double the other night. He’s doing just fine, people are just obsessed with scoring. Watch his whole game, he’s the best rebounding guard in the league already. Sheesh.

Lonzo is a game changer but the games we lost, its because he’s scoring less than 10 points. He have to work on atleast the mid range game and then the 3 ball later in his career. Take one step at a time. Lakers fans, he’s only 20, he’ll get better if he works hard. Kobe couldn’t shoot when he was young, and he became one of the best midrange shooters in the league. It takes time to develop

The answer is simple. He’s playing bad but they are winning games and are at the 8th seed. Once the problems are fixed they will be doing a lot more....

There are 6 players on the Lakers averaging double digit points (only team in the league). Why does everyone keep talking about Lonzo's scoring average? If anything, that speaks to him spreading the ball around and getting everyone involved. You got Ingram, Kuzma, KCP, Clarkson, Randle, Brook Lopez, and Larry Nance scoring 10+ a game ... where's the room for Lonzo? As soon as his outside shot starts to fall, no one will be saying anything. For me, the Lonzo Effect on the Lakers speaks for itself.

look people excusing lonzo's play and talking about wins. thats choppy excuse to not wanting to admit he needs to do a better job at knocking down those plethora of open shots he's being given, and btw even in the bulk of their wins his stats mirror this exact night. lets focus on the guy helping you get these W's in kuzma and the several other guys who play hard and knock down the shots that matter to keep you in the game.

There's just nothing "great" about anything he does in the context of the NBA. Not even his passing. He can definitely develop into a competent PG in the NBA but right now there's no justifying him as a #2 pick. I want Lonzo to succeed but seriously I'll be shocked if he ever makes even one all-star appearance. And you can tout about the 2 triple doubles but in such a fast-paced league when the guy plays 40+ minutes it's honestly not that impressive when there's so many possessions. I watched the highlights of his recent triple double and there's not a single play he does that "wows" me except maybe a couple above average passes. I'm not dumb enough to write Lonzo off completely, but I really feel for the kid right now, and I never understood the hype for him. If you're not somewhat worried about him as a Lakers fan you're delusional. But at least Kuzma is a steal and they have young talent regardless.

Lonzo needs consistency. That's all what's need to be done on his game because we've seen that Zo can "3ple double" his games if he's focus. He doesn't need to showcase his 3pt shooting and his akward form. He just need to quarter back and score more by driving to the basket, rebound and ignite the transition engine for the Lakers.

James Lyons There are probably even more players, but other rookies don't have that many minutes in the game, and they aren't taking as many shots as Lonzo... With Lonzo's MPG, and amount of shots that he takes, there would be 20-30 2017-2018 rookies better then him.

Shannon sharpe is a prime of example of people who love looking at the box score and not watch the game. If you watch any lakers game you will see how lonzo picks up the slack in other areas that doesnt involve him scoring. Hes great defensively, rebounding, and setting up his team for easy baskets. Shannon talks about his assists last night but if the nba started recording “hockey assists” he would have had a bunch of those. It bothers me how shannon and SAS only talk about how bad hes shooting and are quick to call him a bust solely on that

Antonio Porter Ive almost every lakers game this season and him walking up the court and dishing it off just to stand in a corner was one thing I hated about him, but that was for about the first 7 or 8 games. He rarely does that anymore, hes trying to create plays and screen for his teammates instead of sitting in the corner doing nothing

who cares Lonzo may be bad on points/shooting percent but he excels in rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks.. give him a break he just turned 20.. kuzma played 3 seasons in college, ben simmons had the last year off to just get ready for this season. You guys dont think he will get better???? give him time and he will grow as a player... you guys are judging him for his first 20 games?? Ben simmons should not be even considered a rookie, hes a sophmore. And the Lakers still have a better than expected record, even better than okc!

The lakers have been a losing team for the 2 seasons prior and expect reform to the showtime lakers? Everybody hyping Embiid but this is his 4th season, 2 & a half of waiting. The process took at least 4 years, rebuilds aren’t over night. Wait until next season. Kawhi wasn’t beastin until a few seasons in, people who don’t know basketball have the hardest opinions.
