This technique is best used for mobility deficits typically seen with frozen shoulder or post op recovery. You could use this technique with an impingement patient if you make sure to keep the humeral head centered in the glenoid throughout the motion, by using your humeral hand or right hand in this example to keep the humeral head from migrating up.
