Using the wall is a great relief for the other arm since it's already overused due to the injury.

Thanks, it seems like an excellent idea to incorporate those isometrics to strengthen the muscles exactly in the position to hold the shoulder in the correct place.

Hello Doctor, Its been 2.5 months since my Right shoulder dislocation. I have been advised PT by the best consultant surgeon. PT is going great. I can not fail to notice my shoulder is slightly rolled inside like just a few millimeter. I dont know if it was same before dislocation or it is due to dislocation. Can you share more exercise for correction of posture.

Great instructional video. I like the isometric approach. I have a partial tear in my rotator cuff as a result of a dislocation. Always looking for routines to strengthen the area. Thanks!

Paul, thanks for your comment and I'm glad you like the isometrics. In addition to the basic isometrics I introduced in this video, you can also add isometrics in any position for progression of rotator cuff strengthening, moving your elbow farther away from your side at increasing angles. How long it will take to be normal ?

I had subluxation ( anterior) first time when in badminton. And then it happened 4-5 in total. My PT told take therapy of jel plates and stuffs for 21days and exercise under his guidance. Is this a permanent fix? shoulder i get the therapy? I have no pain while doing gym(i just avoid heavy shoulder exercises) or any restriction in range of motion. I have poor posture also. And weak back muscles

asad imtiaz, I cannot say whether you get the therapy and whether it would be a permanent fix because everyone is different. It is important to work on your posture and strengthen your back along with strengthening your shoulder muscles to prevent recurrence.

hii mam its been 2 weeks since my shoulder got dislocated and through reduction my doc set the shoulder in its place presently m undergoing physiotherapy...and my doc advised to use sling for a week and presently m not using sling movemnts are very fyne and doing swing exercises daily..how long would it take to resume my sports?

I am a Boxer. And last year i got shoulder dislokasi, but Successfully repositioned, and now when i'm going to punch something my shoulder is out of the socket but i can do self Reposition, and sometimes just like subluxation, Once when I was sleeping. I accidentally i got shoulder dislocation 🙂, can my shoulder get normal again with this exercise, or should i got shoulder surgery??

am a college student. My dream is to become a police officer. If I am dislocated and have surgery, I can still be a police officer.

Ivan Dimaano, I think you can still become a police officer. It is very important to restore strength and stability in your shoulder. The exercises in my video are a great start. I also suggest that you see a physical therapist in your area to progress your strengthening program safely beyond the exercises in this video. Police programs often have strict fitness and strength requirements, such as number of pushups and pullups and I think you will benefit from working with someone one-on-one to help you achieve the required fitness and strength level. Bro u can't do it again. It will only heal from surgery N there will still be some movements which u can't do I have dislocated both my shoulders It was 2 years ago I thought it healed but then again my left shoulder 6 months ago got dislocated It's just that I can't apply force through my shoulder I can lift weights do pull-ups pushups But some moments like throwing a ball Or a punch There I come to know it's going to come out Its really frustrating 😫

Adven Rihi Mone, I can not say whether you will restore enough stability to prevent subluxation and dislocation with exercises alone. Everyone is different. As a boxer, I think you will probably need surgery to punch without subluxation. If you want to try exercises first, I recommend doing these exercises 2 times per day for 4 weeks and see if your shoulder stays in place when sleeping and other light activity. Take a break from punching while doing these exercises because your shoulder is not stable enough to punch. You will likely need to progress these exercises and I recommend seeing a therapist in person for specific exercises that will help you get back to boxing. All the best!
