I'm actually kind of glad to see you have a build video where you're questioning choices and realizing how things don't synergize like you figured. Too many times in build videos, we see the perfect combination of gear and traits and why those things *do* work, which is how we *should* see it, don't get me wrong! But rarely do we see where builders go, "Oh, I should have used this instead," or, "Uh-oh, that actually does nothing, so ignore this," commentary where things go *wrong.* You handle that well here by explaining why those things that didn't work weren't worth the space. Sometimes, learning from what went wrong means more than learning from what goes right. :) And with your parse results, you show that even a build with flaws can deal out some decent damage. Players don't need to be perfect to deal huge damage, and I think this showcases it well. Maybe we generally need more "blooper build" videos so we can see why things *shouldn't* be on a build? ;)
I do love the "off brand" build ideas. Just a small note though, longtime fan of your content, but I had to set this video to 90% speed. And English is my first language, I just found you were talking a bit...hasty? Haste build? Meh, small nitpick. Fun idea though on a very popular ship, bound to make some peeps raise an eyebrow at your build choice on it!
The Morphogenic weapon in the aft slot is also a beam so you could have gotten the benefit of a FAW/BO ability in the build so you could get all 3 buffs. I would not worry about optimization on a build like this since it is a lazy boat anyway. I think Polaron is actually a good free to play choice as there are several choices for set bonuses, they are just not elite now. Besides they look kinda pretty. As Casual said don't discount pen weapons if you don't have dedicated debuffers as they do in supported runs, they do really well in most content. Just a huge PIA crafting them.
I always enjoy watching your builds, Have improved my skills watching you, MC Stu, SAB, and @AugmentedDictatorGames over the past year. Can I get you to look at doing either at tetryon or chroniton build?
I totally forgot to bring that up in the video. Yeah, getting those turrets was a huge pain, and even more painful when I realized they don't suit the build.
I made an all polaron turret build on my vaadwaur juggernaut. I really wish we had more to work with. At least dominion turrets. I definitely have more ideas for it now, but I don't have quite as much as you. I still need the dprn.
I cannot like anyone's comment because youtube is shadowcensoring me. Every time I like one of your comments it goes away after a few minutes but the thumb is still highlighted.
You only get the level 1 versions of CSV and FaW from Entwined Tactical Matricies. If this were a FaW build I'd use that because FaW doesn't really have another good option for an extension. But with Withering Barrage, you can keep CSV III up consistently, which is better.
Why reduce the firing arc of your turrets with CSV? Is CRF not far more beneficial on a lazy boat? I found out that CRF increased output on my SC/turret builds compared to CSV
@@AugmentedDictatorGames On the Contrary, By using CSV you limit the firing arc of your turrets, limiting the number of turrets available for doing damage AND you spread that limited potential over 3 targets doing less damage per target. By using CRF you make use of all 8 (in this build 7) to take down one target rapidly. Only downside is on has to switch targets but on a lazy boat with auto-targeting that in not in play either. The test i performed showed nearly 40% more output on a SC/turret build. That should be similar on a full turret build.
Don't worry, you got my name right the first time! And i think you went the right way by going with Scatter Volley. That way, more enemies can simultaneously die to the sheer absurdity of your nonsense. That and Surgical Strikes is not much fun imo
