Being a nostalgia freak I purchased a gillette slim for 25$, it's a gamble, I know but my birthday is in one week so maybe I'd ask for a OC variant as a gift 😅. Thank you again for all you do!

Have owned this razor for the 3 months and only just did my first head shave with it today. Now I’m kicking myself I didn’t do it sooner!! Wow.. very impressed and now in my top 3 head shavers

The Parker is a very well made razor and the price point is not too bad. the Parker Black and Gold razor is my sons favorite razor. The Sea Citrus sounds like a good one for sure. Great video as always.

I just picked up the Parker Variant open comb and really like the way it shaves. Typically I leave on one setting and shave with it.

Good talk on the vintage razors. If you tinker you'll probably be fine, but if you don't you just never know. I do like the design of this one and it reminds me of the French razor with the caged head. When the teeth go this direction it doesn't make a difference what the tips of the comb are like. I think they've come out with some great designs and I'm surprised someone has done some similar designs in stainless steel. Something like their new Soloedge could easily be done in a three piece design. It's got a similar clamping style to the Stomper, but has a more exaggerated head. I don't know how they compare but maybe the exaggerated head makes for a very different experience. Great soap too, they've come out with some great stuff. Take care!

Awesome intro. Razor looks awesome and is a great entry level price for a beginner. I wish it was SS or something that is more solid and longer lasting (even though this will last awhile when taken care of). Have a great week buddy

I have the closed comb Parker Variant. I do the usual 3 pass. First pass with grain set at 3.5, second against grain at 2, last pass across grain adjusted to 1. Not a cut or nick. For kicks, I re-tried with my old Gillette Mach 3. Two nicks. Weird, eh?

Great video Josh, nice looking razors at a great price point. I still think the 6C is the best ‘adjustable’ for a newbie to cut their teeth on, but those Parker’s look great quality. Have an awesome day buddy 👍

I agree with your points. No pitchforks needed. 😆 I like the Fatboy and slim but as a newb hard to be confident you are getting something good on say eBay. Etsy is a decent resource which is where I got my first vintage but paid a bit more than BST but at least I had some confidence. It turned out to be a good overall experience. I would still recommend a new razor. I started with the Progress back in 2009 based off of Mantic59 recommendation. I since sold it. Grip is not great and is head heavy. Shave was ok - def some bladefeel. I wouldn’t recommend an adjustable for a newb but if I did. I’d have to say 6c/6s even tho plates and not on the fly adjustment.

Thanks Ronnie! Definitely can be a gamble, but there are certainly valid resources/ reputable options but you likey will pay more then the 70$ asking price - and even that you may find your razor doesn't operate the way it should. I am Also on the jaded side after having eBay not warranty purchases, and having out of country purchases be unusable. Great vintage is out there for sure - but I'd hesitate to recommend it to a brand new newbie personally. Thanks so much for the comment!

Between the parker variant and the parker solo . Which is good for headshave. I like headshaving and like BBS but dont like agressive razors . What you recommend recommend for me
