Finally took the time to perform the Subie Stack Hack Attack!!!! LOL!!! I used it on my Hybrid. Can’t wait to try it on The Ridge!! This was the SMOOTHEST head shave, and very efficient. Efficient is not a word I normally use with OneBlade, but the Subie Stack did the trick. DANG!!!!! Thanks for being the weird mad scientist of wet shaving…..that is a good thing!! Keep the stuff coming. We all love it!

Crazy right? Simple and yet effective method to really amp it up! I know you said you had struggled with that razor previously - so I take it - it's finally giving ya the BBS!? The GENESIS weight does seem to make anout a 33% impact on pass for pass closeness with my testing thus far, but I actually think the Ridge may be a tad smoother? You'll have to tell us all how it goes for ya!! Loved hearing you got a fantastic OneBlade shave!

@@SubieShaves Love the feel and weight of The Ridge. Color rocks too! Did the Subie Stack (buffed down the Feather blade, which is now my shim stock......and loaded the GEM in front). Absolutely a game changed....BBS...like glass folks!!! Gotta try it. Huge PROPS to the SubieShaves man!!! This guy should have 10,000 followers!

I love my Genesis - it's nearly shaveart - but I will admit functionality of the Ridge is quite good. For us bald guys the weight and flexibility are super nice. Thanks so much my friend for watching!

I understand from a business perspective that they want the FHS blades to be a lifelong revenue source, but it would be extremely compelling to see a OneBlade that took half-DE blades. I’ve heard that they may release a GEM blade soon.

I’ve love to try all of the new OneBlade razors to compare the aggressiveness and design. What I like about the Dawn is that the handle has more of a built-in angle, and that may make it one of the best options overall if it also has a Genesis head.

@@SubieShaves Hmm, it may be a feminine-targeted body shaver, but I do like the idea of the curved aluminum handle paired with the Genesis head. I was surprised to see that the Element didn’t also have the stainless steel head, since they could have just machined the Ridge razor in different colors.

I love the color, but $100 is wild for what you get. Personally if I wanted to try out that style of razor I'd get a Parker solo edge.

But it doesn't pivot? Kind of a different animal all together, especially since the SoloEdge uses DE blades. If you think the 100$ is wild check out the Genesis $ model - they go from 300$ upwards of over 1k!

Couldn't agree with you more!! The more I have learned about the different offerings and performance variations - the more I'm shocked that you can get their closest shave for 1/3 the money! I love my beautiful polished SS Genesis...but the utility of the Ridge makes it a major contender! Seriously, since it's limited, I am debating grabbing a black one as I doubt it will be offended for ever at this $. Thanks so much for the comment, I can't wait to hear your thoughts!

Whaaaaat? So many missed opportunities and out of the companies trying to have wide appeal, they've done probably the least to be part of the wet shaving community. I had no idea about this one or a couple of their other ones. The One Blade razor is how I originally found your channel. I have a hybrid in my " custom candidates" razor box and just haven't gotten around to working on it. That's probably because I don't care for their proprietary and I'm not much on Gems. I'm sure I could figure a way to use an injector blade and I do think I've used a DE in one before. Aluminum, titanium, a different shaped handle all kinds of stuff. My idea was to make an Enders Speed Shaver handle for mine. I've got all kinds of ideas for things that could be done with their razor. Seems like a no brainer to reach out to a few people in the community and get something going. The soap does sound like a nice scent and these collabs are usually really good. Take care Buddy!

@@SubieShavesOneBlade has a new Element razor on their own site that appears to be based on their Ridge razor; however, it pairs the aluminum handle with a zinc head instead of the unpolished black stainless steel.

@@michaeldproject I have spoken to them about the Element actually. The handle is the same as the Ridge. I was told if the Genesis is a 10 hypothetically, the Element falls more in a 7 level of efficiency due to some blade exposure differences..I haven't used one personally, but I was told it likey was closer to their Core in efficiency than the Genesis/ Ridge.

Ok man. Another great find. Question: how does this compare to the Hybrid model? I have it and still trying to get the technique down. So different.

I can't say for certain - I was told that the Hybrid and the Genesis are different - that the Genesis is their more efficient head, whereas the Hybrid is less aggressive by a bit. So I would assume since the Ridge offers a Genesis head it's a closer shave pass for pass. I will mention though without having them side by side it would probably be hard to comment one way or the other. Further, The Hybrid retails for 115$ approximately so it's actually more money, for a plastic handle and slightly less efficient head if that helps.

With a Gem...man 7-9 consistently. It's a little ridiculous. The shaves actually get BETTER as the blade wears in for me, like shave 3 is usually my favorite. When I used to put a Injector blade in these I actually forced myself to bin them at 10, but probably could have gotten more commonly. Great question!
