I am viewing this 3 years plus after the video. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 We need more words of wisdom from you. You have taught me so much about pipe repair and maintenance. I encourage you to start making videos again. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I've gone through all your videos over a few days so I'd say your videos will remain relevant. They were exactly what I needed to help me down my path. Thank you so much.
Your content is of the absolute highest quality, and I really respect and value your information in all your videos. I’m anxiously waiting for you to drop some more content, but just wanted to say thank you for sharing your knowledge and insight. I’m relatively new to the hobby, but the guidance of people like you has been immensely helpful.
I personally like your channel very much, because, it is very informative. I too don't care much for GAW videos or VR"s it's just not my thing. I buy a good number of pipes on EBAY and I don't necessarily shop for certain brands I look for pipes that are appealing to my eye and I also look for pipes that are in rough shape primarily because I get a lot of enjoyment out of the restoration process and when the pipe is done it is a satisfying smoke. So, with that said, I want to thank you for the content you put out because you are the source for most of the knowledge I use to do these restorations.
I definitely enjoy your content. I have learned a lot on pipe restoration & stem repair which has helped me restore my Dunhill 1920’s estate pipes. I also have shared your content with others. Thanks, Art
PeacePipeMan I am no expert, just an amateur learning and sharif as I go along, so it is a huge blessing to hear that it has been useful. Keep well, happy smokes and blessings
I agree, YTPC is really not a community, at least not a community with any self directed community standards other than those imposed by RU-vid, which may or may not benefit YTPC. A true community polices itself, and imposes rules and regs to maintain a standard of existence. If we’re to say that we just move on and unsubscribe when disagreeing with someone, say that person is abusing others, we truly have no “community” per-say, all we have is a group of people talking at each other. Maybe that’s what YTPC has been all along.
Insight Video that is a very good point. The only times that I have gone negative in feedback has been where I thought that people were exploiting their fans for money or acting dishonestly. Luckily it hardly ever happens and it is something to do only after some careful thought.
I think that it's a lot more complicated than " that’s what YTPC has been all along". That statement is true of course in a lot of aspects, even in communities such as small towns. There is always the issue of social responsibility and who is going to stand up and take action, if anyone. The concept of "online community" applies to the YTPC and the definition of that evolves every day as technology advances. Not to disagree with Bare Pipe, who I greatly respect, but I think that there are some norms appearing as there are a lot of viewers and presenters who wish to be accepted by the community and for that to happen they have to adhere to certain unwritten rules and norms otherwise that person is just a person who presents or watches videos about pipes. Once that person becomes involved and receives recognition they become part of the online pipe community. Maybe it's a RU-vid Pipe Club or Pipe Clique? No, from my perspective, not a clique. I enjoyed to video and the comments made me think. Thanks.
