11:30, the wall came down. As to the mechanics of how that was codded to happen, I imagine the explosive unit was merely a retextured cannon of some faction, set to have a flaming attack, incredibly high damage, incredibly high projectile Area of Damage, with incredibly short range to require its use as a suicide unit. As to why it took so long for the wall to come down, that's just the game being hardcoded to run through the animation cycle of the wall being gradually broken down. You get a similar effect in the base game when you have 6 cannons fire at a segment of large (but not huge) wall, their combined damage if they all hit instantly wipes the wall's health but it still has to go through the animation cycle. And yes, I know I'm posting almost a month after the vid released, just trying to explain what happened to anyone who finds this comment and cares to read it.

Makes sense. It is one of the reason why I don't like total war mods. It simply is not flexible enough to do a lot of things you want to do.

@@JM-dy4tyhe mongols would surround an enemy, utterly shower them with arrows give them no hope...then present a route of escape,the army would go from defending to the death to frantically trying to run through the gap,and get completely cut down by the units placed in an ambush.

Man, I've just written a comment about it! They're so ineffective! I cannot understand this in the Medieval Total War and cannot understand why people are fond on playing it. It's one of the main issues which repelled me from Medieval Total War. Shogun 2 Total War was the first game in the series where archers really made sense. I'm glad I came across your comment I was wondering for all these years whether I'm a schizophrenic or people don't see it :)

@@dvnwnd22 You're probably right, but I observed it in basic Medieval II Total War and in the Stainless steel(?) mod that archers are really weak. They're shooting, enemy is bleeding but not dying. Shogun 2 Total War was the first game in the series where archers really made sense.

I wish that Apollo would show the units like he used to so I could see the units but more importantly the experience and upgrades . I feel in a battle with such odds seeing the elves with three golden chevron’s and max weapons and armor upgrades, with Rohan being double silver and two or three units being gold for hero’s role play vs the hoard of Isengard. I love the video most I do but seeing the stats would allow me to see and experience the gameplay while knowing the full stats . As always Apllo I love your videos . Always will dude

Great replay. And yes, Isengard just run for roleplay reasons at the end but to be fair the defenders also did the same thing at the start. Realistically, the defenders whould have pulled the archers from the walls and some infantry would do the fighting. But for roleplay reasons the archers just took out their swords and fought because that's what happened in the movie. Really enjoyable to watch. Well done!
