Own many Sigs, Kimbers, and Smith and Wessons and just bought a Canik Mete and I am so glad I did. Very accurate, easy to carry, great capacity, and easy to maintain. 500 rounds with no jams nor misfires. Canik is going to be my choice moving forward and they cost significantly less than the other brands I generally buy.
@@sv2697🤣🤣🤣 wonder what that makes me. I don't get rid of guns unless they are total junk and have been getting more for 40 years. Have now started giving some to nephews and grand kids.
I went with the MC9 kit for 419.00. It looks the same as yours and came with a 12 and 15 round mag and a nice holster which can be made for inside or outside the waist carry. I was pleasantly surprised at how really good this gun is. I added Tritium night sights to mine as it is my carry gun and my night time on the stand next to me gun. I like the ease of removing the slider for maintenance. Canik has a number of parts and accessories on it's website to purchase which is where I got the night sites. I am totally satisfied with this choice.
Have you had any malfunctions? I know people had issues with a recoil spring and extractor springs that were too strong. I've been thinking about buying one for my Mom, but would rather her not have too many issues with her first gun.
Had the chance to shoot both & your take is on point. Wanted to like the Sig more but the MC-9 was more controllable. Didn't buy either but if I had to go with one, I'd choose the Canik.
I love the MC9. I got mine, 200 rounds, and a holster for $590(East Coast SC). I went back later and bought the TP9SF for home defense. As much as I've heard you talk about them, though, I now plan to get a CZ P07 and then later a Shadow 2 Comp.
I carry the Canik Elite SC, which is the big brother to the MC9, and I absolutely love how controllable it is, due to weight and barrel length. Id recommend Canik to any responsible carrier.
Just did this purchase comparison last weekend in my local FFL, armed at least partially with info from your past videos. While the Canik felt slightly better in hand and definitely has a better trigger, ultimately I went with the p365 due to the huge accessory and aftermarket support it has behind it. Probably can’t go wrong either way, but I appreciate the hell out of all the quality content you put out 🤙🤙🤙
Another great review! I'm a Sig guy (have a P320XC and a P226) but found the p365 a bit too small for my hand. I picked up the Canik MC9 at my local FFL. The sales guy there just handed it to me and said try the trigger. I was sold. For me, the MC9's ergonomics fit me much better and I really shoot that firearm well.
I don’t comment here often but enjoy your vids, your commentary and overall content. Usually very thorough, entertaining and informative…keep doing what you’re doing…many of us enjoy it 👍🏼 🇺🇸
I pocket carry my P365 so the slight size difference would matter more to me. I haven’t had a chance to shoot the Caniks, but expect they are great from your reviews. I’m pleased and confident with my P365. All in all, we are fortunate to have such great options and great reviews like yours! Thank you!
Recently lost my P365 in a boating accident and was contemplating its replacement. Appreciate this comparison. The Canik might just be the better option for me.
I'm at 2500 rounds in my MC9 without one issue and is my EDC. Absolutely love it. I believe like all products that there are more pleased and happy customers who never say a word complared to people who have had issues. Prople dont generally say much unless they have a problem. My wife also has one as well.
@@marvnation924 my wife loved the Shield Plus until I let her shoot the MC9 then she changed her mind about getting the S&W. I like the feel and trigger better on the MC9 and the size difference is not that big of a deal for me.
@@marvnation924I actually tested the MC9 vs Shield Plus by renting them at the range. Shield Plus had a little more snap, I liked the trigger in the Canik more. Ultimately the plethora of issues with the MC9 returning to battery and how much the frame flexed in my hand convinced me to go with the Shield Plus. Unfortunately after buying the Shield Plus, it tried to shake the locking block pin out after 100 rounds. Smith wanted it back for warranty, I have no idea what they did, but when I got it back I started having failures to feed. So I would recommend the MC9 instead, or get a Glock 48 (or a 43x if you want to stay short) like I did. It carries well, shoots straight, and runs perfectly.
Interestingly I am 6'4 with long fingers but the P365 fits my hands great for such a small gun. I don't know what witchcraft SIG used, but P365 shoots incredibly accurately and doesn't recoil as much as I was expecting. I own multiple handguns, most of which are full size and wasn't expecting to shoot so good with a micro compact. I live in Florida and wanted something that I can easily conceal under the t-shirt so I went with standard P365. Anything bigger that that wouldn't do the job for me. If I had to buy a concealed gun now I would go again with the P365.
Good comparison. I'm shooting both of these pretty well. In both cases, I was surprised how accurate both guns were from the very first magazine. I think for those who want night sights, the P365 is a no brainer. If you're a trigger snob, the MC9 is a no brainer. At the end of the day, I don't have to work near as hard with the MC9 for tight groups, while the P365 requires just a tiny bit more concentration. I love them both equally.
Everyone should be a trigger snob. A bad trigger can make a bad shooter even worse. A great trigger, which every Canik has from the factory, won't make a bad shooter better, but it will definitely not make them worse. I like both guns. As a certified Sig Armorer, I can make a Sig trigger much better. The Canik, I don't have to touch. Out of the box, the Canik walks circles around the 365.
Picked up an MC9 several months ago and tossed a Mecanik red dot as my newest CC. I’ve only ran close to 500 rounds through it so far but it’s been fantastic ! Easy to wear everyday am glad I got it. The factory iron front sight is a bit big and blocky but I swapped them out and now have a smaller excellent co-witness. 12 rounds of Liberty Civil Defense ammo helps over weight issue a bit as I also have a Valkyrie mini 2 light on her. 👍🏼
@@davidd8892 I just had installed some night sights but then added a Mecanik which isn’t a perfect co-witness with the iron sights , that’s okay close enough if I had to use in a pinch.
My first gun that I bought about a year ago was the Canik TP9 SC(sub compact). Great feeling gun to shoot but it’s a little big for concealed carry. Saw the MC9 and I’ve been real excited to get my hands on it.
I tried like hell to love the 365. It just didn’t want to play nice with me. Sold it and bought a shield plus. Contemplated the Canik, as I have a full size, but I am a M&P guy at heart and went with the shield. No regerts. 😂 Thanks for another awesome review Chris.
Thx Outlaw!! Love the reviews!!! Adore my Mete MC9!!! Never had a better trigger and ease of conceal!!! Ran 500 thru mine with Zero issues!!! But, like alot of things everyone can make their own opinions! Be safe and keep on!!
I went from a G26 to the P365 and then to the P365XL. I shoot the XL very good. I recently was given the opportunity to shoot the Canik. The trigger is amazing. I am considering adding the Canik to my EDC rotation.
Love your content brother, you were one of the direct reasons I bought 2 p365 models earlier this year and started carrying concealed. Your content is invaluable and so damn important in this current day. Keep up the excellent work.✊🏼
I already have the Canik Mete SFX. So I'm already used to a Canik so I'm way more inclined towards the MC9. And btw I got the Mete off of the recommendation mainly from this channel. And I was not disappointed at all.
Love my Mete MC9, Mete SFX, and my standard TP9SF. I’m such a fan, that I even bought a second Mete SFX customized with a Boba Fett theme by Blown Deadline. I’ll be shooting it during my first major match at the Primary Arms Space City match in Wallis, TX next weekend! I thought it was a great choice since it fits the space theme haha. Great content as always, much love from Texas!
Something rarely mentioned when reviewing the sig is that the grip length can be different by changing the mag. I have an xl with a standard 365 grip and at work I use the 10 round mag because it is super concealable. But in jeans and a t shirt I wear the 12 round. If I have a hoodie I can throw in the 17 round mag. I like the option of having a super small gun or a 17 round gun and it be the same exact gun. I don't have to have different guns that I have to train with depending on the setting. I have one gun that can be as small or as big as I want and all it takes is putting in the appropriate magazine. Having one gun that could fit any concealed carry situation was important for me.
This is why after analysis paralysis, I ended up with a P365 XMacro. Fits so many roles that used to be filled by 2 or 3 other guns in the concealed EDC rotation. Supremely shootable, easily concealable even in deep conceal scenarios.
Yo preferirí la p365 X (no macro), ni se siente al portarlo por el cañon corto y su empuñadura muy confortable. Ahora estoy viendo la MC9 como arma adicional
I have the P365XL & it is by far my favorite for carry. I’m not a huge 9mm fan, I prefer something with a bit more, like 40 or 357Sig. But, for a concealed carry, I love my XL, and what I love most about it is that it fits my hand perfectly, like a custom made gun for my hand. That being said, I’m not a real big guy (5’10 180) and my hands aren’t huge. I don’t know much about Canik but it looks like Sig Sauer may finally have some real competition! As far as I’m concerned, Sig makes the finest weapons in the world, but I might have to check into getting a Canik or two. On another note, thank you! Thanks for being real, & providing true & honest content & information. Unfortunately, that’s hard to find these days, so believe me, you are appreciated! Keep it up, & FJB! 😝
So if a bigger caliber is better, why not 44mag… If a 9mm goes through your heart, game over. If a whatever caliber you think is better goes through your heart, are you more dead? If either round goes through your lungs(which is more the case) you will have a hole in your lungs. Do you think trauma surgeons can tell the difference between 9/40/10/357 wounds? They can’t and it doesn’t matter. We are not gel blocks.
@@HWG-wm8ld no, never said bigger was better, simply expressing my preference for something with more energy than 9mm (IE 40, 357, 45, yes 44 mag) I don’t want to get shot with a pellet gun lol, but if I’m in a situation I want some serious stopping power on my side. That being said, 9mm is a good option considering gun size, conceal ability, mag capacity, etc. shot placement is key. If I have all my guns laid out in front of me in my living room though, & someone breaks in my house, I’m not grabbing my 9. Or my 380, which I have due to the tiny size of the gun (LCP). I’ll likely grab my favorite gun- my P226 in 357 Sig. You can have a BB gun if you want, but it’s really okay for us all to have different opinions lol.
Grabbing a pistol over a rifle shows your ignorance. No such thing as stopping power. Dudes get hit with 300wm and keep running. You either hit something that matters or they keep shooting back. Definitely gonna miss a month after the pain kicks in. The 226 was made for the military and police needs, hence amateurs with poor gun skills. Get some real education and experience.
@@HWG-wm8ld Dude- calm down- seriously WTF? Why you trying to start an argument over my preference for handguns? Why would you even care about my opinion? And why would you think I care about yours? 🤣 I’m an idiot because I would choose a handgun over a rifle???🤣🤣 that doesn’t even make sense as it’s completely irreverent to the conversation- where is this coming from? This video (and my opinion) aren’t even talking about rifles! We are talking about handguns. Your assumption that I have no education or experience is simply you getting defensive about something you know nothing about. In fact I’m very well educated on the subject of ballistics, and have 30 years experience in the business. So, let me rephrase my comment so you may understand it better… take rifles, hand grenades, rocket launchers, F22 Raptors, & even shotguns out of the equation- if I’m sitting in my living room and I have 2 guns within reach, that both happen to be handguns, one is chambered in 9mm & the other in 357Sig, & someone breaks into my house, I’m grabbing the 357 because it is (ballistically proven to be) a more powerful round. It’s as simple as that- that’s all I’m saying. That being said, for concealed carry, I favor my P365 because it’s smaller, lighter, & more concealable, & 9mm is a decent round. Not my favorite, but decent. There are guns, handguns & rifles alike, chambered in many different calibers because none of them are a “one size fits all solution”, and they all have strengths & weaknesses, pros & cons. Even more to the point, people, like you & me, have differing opinions on their preference of firearms and guess what- that’s okay! You carry what you want & I’ll carry what I want, there’s really no need to go around trying to start an argument because someone expressed an opinion that’s different than yours. The whole idea of this video, and thousands more like it, is to get solid information out there & help folks understand the differences & limitations of guns. And to help them make decisions on what is right for them. It’s supposed to be fun & informative & allow people, through the use of the comments section to ask questions, express opinions, share experiences etc. It’s arrogant, obnoxious people like you with a know it all attitude that ruin it for the rest of us. Feel free to express your opinion, and by all means, help educate others in the safe & proper use of firearms, but seriously, there’s no need to be confrontational and try to argue with people over their personal preferences. If you would like to educate yourself more on the subject of ballistic science, the Oehler Research model 35P is the very best ballistic chronograph on the market, but we do offer less expensive models that are very good too. Have a good day, & please note that I have much more important things to do than further this futile conversation, so feel free to express your opinions on guns, ammo, anything you like, but if you are just looking for someone to insult & argue with, keep looking because I’m not wasting any more of my time-
Both are excellent choices, but I bought the P365. The modularity of the Sig and the incredible aftermarket support were the deciding factors. With Wilson Combat grip modules of various sizes, multiple slide assemblies, .380 caliber exchange kit, and up to 17 round capacity (from the X Macro), I have a pistol that can fill multiple roles with absolute precision and reliability.
Market support for lights and light/holster rigs for the MC9 is quite good as well. And you can get 18-20 rnd mags from the full size caniks! This is a lot closer of a comparison than people are giving credit.
I am used to sw 2.0 compact. I love it. Have 2. I wanted something easier to carry. For the money and features. I went with the canik mc9. I was surprised how an inch or so barrel length difference was so different to shoot. I'm happy with my decision after shooting a friend's p365(ported). I will say, it does take time and practice to shoot well. I still would grab my smithy. With a holosun red dot it's like having a cheat code.
I now own both the Canik MC9 and the Sig P365. I've owned the P365 for over a year and it is my main carry gun. I think the 365 with a 12 round mag is the perfect size for me. Now that I've had the MC9 for a month or so and have run several boxes of ammo through it, I agree that it is easier to shoot and easier to hit with. I need to put more rounds through the MC9 before I depend on it but I hope it checks out and if so, I will be adding it to my everyday carry. I have put in a lot of practice with the P365 and it took me longer than I had hoped to become proficient with it. That doesn't detract from the pistol, I think it is a wonderful sidearm. Thanks again for your excellent review!
I haven't had the chance to shoot an MC9, but your take on the Sig P365 is very similar to my experience with it. The grip is so small and so thin that I had trouble feeling like I was controlling it well and I don't even have very large hands. Very interested to try the Canik.
Great video and two really, really good guns. The Sig p365 was and still is the best micro ever made to this point (IMO). The Canik is fantanstic and a great gun and on a very short list on best micro's IMO. If I didnt have the Sig, I'd prob be wanting the Canik or Hellcat. Tip top with any of these.
I have one of each and love them both. This allows me to not really worry about what I wear cause I can just switch out ccw. For the day and even. Amazing content I came here and watched your reviews on each gun before I bought them
I am tempted to get an MC9, I have the SFT Pro and really like it, obviously not meant for carry though. Just did 30 seconds of research and it looks like my larger mags would work in the MC9 so I may get one. That is a feature I really like.
I personally went with the MC9 due to ergonomics and the trigger. I went to a handful of different LGS and held all the P365 variants, HC pro and MC9 multiple times to really see which one I liked more. I have no real complaints about the MC9 besides wishing the grip texture carried all the way up. I’m 1700 rounds in on it and have only had one failure which was a light primer strike, so could’ve been ammo related and not even the fun. I still find myself wanting the HC pro though hahaha so I have a feeling it’ll make its way into the safe soon 🤙🏼😁
Another excellent video. Answered the questions I had concerning both firearms, especially the triggers. Also, described the type of shooters who are likely to select each pistol: me (MC9), my son (P365). Thanks again!
I rented a p365 at a local range and was shocked at how accurate it was. Considering I have large hands and there's nothing a support hand hold can help. If I bought one, I'd go with a P365X for just a little more length in the grip.
That's what I ended up doing. I can't believe I was just as accurate with the P365 as I am with my PDP-F. Of course the PDP-F feels better and easier, but the accuracy is still the same which I found amazing.
Sig P365 was/is my CCW. I bought the Canik Mete MC9 and have smaller hands. I still think the Sig P365 is better and can use either grip module for variety. Good video once again buddy.
My MC9 was a great choice for me. The springs are a bit tight which was difficult at first with my arthritis, but it dies get smoother with use. Add a Holosun 407k and it's tough to beat. And using my 18 round TP9 mags don't hurt either.
I owned a 365 for about a month a couple years ago. It was great at the range, but I couldn't get a good grip on it from the holster even with a 12 round mag. The Shield plus ended up being much better for me. Canik is interesting too...
I would say buy both over time. I have a p365 X Macro with a holo sun and micro TLR. It's the one I carry most. I bought the MC9 because it's an excellent gun at a really good price. Still hard to find though. I got mine at Bass Pro. You won't go wrong with either. You're my favorite gun reviewer. I too have bought several guns with your help. Appreciate the hard work and dedication. Keep up the great work
I’ve had 2 p365s, (one was a SAS, that was a joke), and both of them had massive jam issues. My MC9 has been perfect through 1500 rounds. I know my experience is anecdotal though. Lots of excellent P365’s out there.
It’s always guys that don’t shoot that rave about sig. they make good guns, but to say they are far better than other brands is crazy. The 226 is their holy grail and the reason they chose it, “because the seals did”. Again, they can’t think for themselves. SA/DA guns were designed for amateurs per military police needs.
Bought a base 365, swapped in the flat trigger from sig, and swapped in a dan wesson XL frame. Fantastic carry gun. I was worried about the size and weight amd how accurate I would be but Im surprisingly great with it. Its quickly turned into one of my favorites.
Oh jeeze yeah my bad! Wilson Combat. I was just watching one of his videos on a Dan Wesson DWX before this one. The gun videos blurred in my brain lol.
just purchased a p365. without a doubt the best feel ive had with a pistol from the ones ive held in hand. With that being said, i do plan on doing some upgrades. that was also taken into account when purchasing as the p365 has so much customizability
Love the canik. I ran into feed issues after 850 rounds. I changed recoil spring and it fixed the issue. But the problem came back after an additional 1200 rounds.
I keep hearing this and its worrisome.....I was psyched about this gun and wanted to purchase but stayed away because I wanted something out of the box. I have a friend who is a gunsmith that works at a shop he told me this is what he has done to his: -Recoil spring issue is a stock spring that overlaps itself, replace it. - Magazine release finishing issue where excess plastic snags where the magazine locks in and needs to be de-burred. (can cause feeding issues or magazines that don't drop on release) -Polishing the ramp and the circumference of the feeding chamber will de-burr them -Battery timing issues are from not de-burring the frame slides, polish/remove burrs..... My own conclusion after he told me this and his is that they do not consistently sand/polish finish the burrs off the gun after the cuts in production (come on QC)....there maybe be better copies of the gun out there but I've heard a lot about these problems.
Considering that the MC9 has had some out-of-battery issues from a few reviewers, I would go with a 365 cause the kinks have been worked out by now. Maybe a year or two from now, as long as the complaints subside, the better bang for your buck would for sure be the MC9.
@@keithwatkins2643 Long answer: In this case, battery is being used in it's "sequence or process" sense, with out of battery meaning that something goes wrong with the events that have to happen for a firearm to be fired, eject the spent casing, and return to a fireable state. Short answer: usually it means the slide doesn't return to where it's supposed all the time so the gun won't fire. Very short answer: trigger yes, bang no; problem.
i really think the guntubers got cherry picked versions of the mc9, as i've had all of the issues reported by others, failure to feed, failure to eject, failure to return to battery, dead trigger and magazines that no longer drop free because the mag well plastic is too thin and warps pinching the mags.
@@roberts3993 I'm not a guntuber and the only issue I've had with my mc9 is that their 12 round magazine has 1 less loop on the spring in the magazine making it not always lock back after last round with a taylorfreelance +4 magazine extension. I got one as soon as it came through my gun store when it released.
I just picked mine up today at local gun store (cheaper at Bass Pro, but only by $32, and it's a 45 minute drive to BP). I like to support my local guys. Got it home and started getting familiar. Amazing how much comes in the box: tools, lock, 2 mags, 2 spare back straps, holster (which I won't use because I've already ordered a Fobus OWB). It's a lot for the price. I immediately field stripped it. It was well lubed from the factory. I cleaned it well and put it through function tests. This is a solid gun and the trigger is as good as Honest outlaw says. I can'd wait to get it to the range. Another gun I bought based on his review.
As a Canik fan in general I was really excited when the MC9 was announced. I couldn't find one to save my life and that turned out to be a good thing. Recent experience has shown me that it is not reliable and as such doesn't get carried. Failures to go into battery, nose dives into the feed ramp, magazines failing to properly eject. etc... It looks like you were blessed with a good one but there are way to many problem children out there for me to trust my life to the MC9. I'm really sad to have to say that.
Most of that is with the first release. And as always you hear only people who complain or have the problem and not the people who haven't. I purchased mine which was manufactured in August and I've put almost 2500 rounds thru it without one issue. My wife also has one and is coming on 2000 rounds without an issue.
I got my mc9 as soon as it came through the gun shop when it first came out and the only issue I've had is that the 12 round magazine doesn't always lock back with taylorfreelance +4 magazine extension due to it have 1 ring shorter magazine spring than what comes in the tp9 elite SC. I'm using the other 12 round from the elite sc with the same +4 extension and that locks back every single time so it's definitely not a gun issue.
I got mine on pre order so the first batch I guess. I have had 2 issues FTF and I kept hearing about others having issues so I got a new spring from them for free. But i am around 6-700 rounds and those are my only issues. Others having issues have made me not carry it but I still take it to the range with my other guns to get rounds though it. I like how it shoots. It's just tough mentally when you hear and see all of those issues. But i like the pistol
Excellent comparison, but for a fairer comparison, I think that the P365X (with its standard 12 round mag, expandable to 14 with a Magguts =2 kit) would have been better since it's size is more comparable and overcomes some of the minor negatives you pointed out with the plain (original) P365. And yes, my EDC is the P365X (which I upgrade from the earlier P365).
Found a deal on a 365 and scooped it up. It does take some range time to get used to the small size. After 300-400 rounds I'm impressed how accurate it can be.
@@HWG-wm8ld They say this a lot because they choose shit guns for shit prices. Coming from a Taurus to a sig is like going from “Hyundai” to a entry level Cadillac 😂
Something i have noticed about Sig night sights is they usually don't last very long.. i've had 2 different Sig's with night sights that went out in less than a year like 1 of the 3 dots would just go out after not having it for long.. but at least they come with night sights.. night sights are the best for defensive use in my opinion the tritium fiber optic sights are some of my favorite
Got the black mc9 with the macanik red dot on it and it felt good and shot accurate but the slide failed to lock back a couple times. I only have a couple hundred rounds through it but that took me by surprise. I already bought it so here’s hoping it works itself out.
I have both i love the canik trigger it's awesome but it felt like it was going to break my knuckle on my thumb. It got so beat up i had to stop shooting it. So now i carry my p365xl with wilson-combat grip and I love it.
Love my P365. I was shocked at how well it shoots for being a micro-compact. Its very carry-able, and I also love the sights. Bonus is I like the looks better than the Canik. Downside is the price point on the Sig.
@@coderexe30 Yeah, I put in the 2nd to top Ghost trigger in my G26, so it’s very good. I’ll only accept a long trigger in a revolver or my P32. I’ve never had a sub9 like the 365
I purchased a P365 in December 2024 for ccw. I've run about 1400 of my reloads without problems. Also, I was surprised at how well it shot in spite of the fact that my pinky finger does nothing. I recently installed a Wilson Combat 365X grip module with a Talon rubber grip (made specifically for the Wilson) and now my little finger is in the mix. It feels great. I'm sure it all depends on your hand size. I recently spent a few hours in the rain shooting so the gun got soaked. I blew out the FCU and cleaned the rest of the gun that night. A lot of people are complaining about rust so I'll see how that goes. So far, so good.
Crazy how Canik is now competing with sig - 2 years ago it wasn't even a thought. That said, I've been buying all the cheap Tukish guns I can find, and most of them are extraordinary. The RIA TM22 and Ermox X Fire are formidable examples.
Canik beats them across the board (striker fired vs striker fired). I was a fan of SIGs until I had the 365 and 2 320s (XCompact, X5 Legion). It was very frustrating to have to put several more hundred dollars into each one of them to make them acceptable sidearms. Meanwhile, all 3 Caniks (TP9SFX, MC9, Rival) consistently outperformed them across the board. I was relieved when i was able to sell the Legion and 365 w/o losing much money. I only kept the XCompact to forego a huge loss.
People like guns the same way they do cars. You got people who are brand loyal, and then you have those who prefer a brand but will venture to another brand if they have something more appealing than what their preferred brand has.
@@thystaff742 True True Reminds me of the guys that say things like "Glock/SIG/Springfield FTW" but then they've never owned or shot anything else to even compare. I love the 226/228, and why I gave the 320 & 365 a shot - they just fell short in performance for me.
MC9 shoots amazingly well for the size... it is very comparable to the M&P shield if not identical in size. Return to dot with a 507k is easy and quick. It is my pick. Only wish more companies made light bearing holsters for it.
Talk to Black Rhino Concealment and they will point you to the right holster. They offer light bearing for Streamlight, Olight, Surefire, and a few others.
You can’t just point your gun at someone. They can see you but you can’t see them? By the time you identify the guy coming at you with a weapon, game over. Hand held light for concealed carry. I know it’s a cool factor for you guys that have ever even been in a fist fight. All good bud, carry a light.
Much like Classic Firearms' P320 vs Echelon pointed out, tbe problem is that there are enough P365 submodels to compare it to that the Canik is going to be better than the base but worse than others. Also, rust comment.
I bought the original 365 when they came out. I put a Houge rubber sleeve on mine and it makes it fit my hand well. Accurate, all the things you pointed out. I looked at the MC9 but I wanted something a little bigger, so I bought the Mete SF. I already had a Mete FSX and I love it. I didn't care for the short grip on the MC9. With the SF it's still concealable but with a longer barrel and 15 rd magazines. Great triggers on those guns. Looking to pick up a TTI Combat this weekend.
bought a p365 for $499 new at my local outfitter. Absolutely love it especially for summer time carry. Because Sig's modularity I bought a 365X grip, upgraded to the flat trigger and bought an X Macro 17 round Mag as a back up. Having the base 365 for the ultimate conceal with a 10 rounder is nice to be able to switch to. Eventually I'll grab an XL Slide and barrel and then later a X Macro Grip. I'll have three guns that you can change parts out on and only have 1 gun thats registered. Love it
This is a interesting video and a very interesting comparison. I have been a huge Canik fan for a very long time. The Canik line of pistols is one of the best values out there for a high quality pistol. However, the p365 is a very capable and sound concealed carry pistol. I personally carry the sig p365 XL because I get just a little bit longer grip and it gives me a better purchase with my hands. I would have no reservation whatsoever at carrying the Canik.
I have both on my edc rotation, also the X Macro, I am faster and more accurate on the MC9 though I have had it for less time. I put 1500 rounds on it before I started carrying it with no issues on any type of ammo I fed it, size wise I am used to bigger guns anyways so it was not a problem carrying the MC9, its almos exactly the same size of the X Macro with the 15 rd magazine, the MC9 trigger is probably the best out of the box trigger at that price and maybe some more expensive pistols. IMO they are both great but I favor the MC9
Both the Canik and the Sig are "micro-9's" as opposed to the "sub-compact" range of handguns which include the PPQ SC, Glock 26, etc. They're both significantly lighter/thinner than the PPQ SC.
I'm thinking about getting a Canik love all the good things I've been hearing about them and the price is crazy good for the quality, I'm very impressed with this company and never even shot one yet, but good for them anyway they got me very interested.
Never fired the MC9, but I did get a chance to shoot the P365. I was impressed as how it shot like a much bigger pistol. Sometime later I had the opportunity to shoot a P365 XMACRO followed by a S&W Shield Plus. While they both shot well, the accuracy and follow up shots were much better on the S&W pistol. I did notice that the P365 shot to the left so I thought that perhaps the sights were off, but it now makes complete sense after your explanation as to why the groups were not as tight and slightly off to the left. With that said, when are we going to see a comparison between the Shield Plus and it’s rivals?
What I'm not a huge fan about the mc9 is that it's the size of the p365xl, but with the grip surface of the p365. The slide release is in the way like how glocks are. The mc9 egos are average at best. The triggers and recoil control are about the same once you are at the range. I will say that the p365 should absolutely have the Wilson combat frame
Hey Chris, great video, I own both, I shoot both well, however believe it or not, I did have some initial problems with the Canik not going into battery which I remedied with a little file in the slide track, I truly believe the quality control and finish is sub-standard to Sig, however I still love the Canik..thank you for all you do..
I am currently still carrying my glock26 its a bit heavy canik mc9 is my next pick for the price you can't beat it the only reason I carry my glock is magazine options like my glock 17 or 19 and I have some 33 rounders for my pcc.
I’m in CA and the Sig was just added to the gun roster and it’s going 729$ sales start 11-7 I’ve wanted this Sig for a long time and I’m going to duck up and pay the inflated price.
