Sigma Empaths vs. Super Empaths - Which One Are YOU? 

A lot of your points on Super Empaths are accurate with the exception of being extraverted. Yes we can socialize and attract people in group settings however we genuinely prefer solitude. Also we have to be careful of the content we take in like music, films and books. Cheers

I was a super empath but as you get older....you may see yourself becoming a sigma empath. Just from plain old life experience!!!!

I'm both a Sigma empath and a Super empath. I do prefer a small circle of friends and avoid large crowds because of all the noise but I also have the extrovert side of me. I do tend to help and prioritize others than myself which leads me to burn out.. And yes I'm more introverted and prefer it that way than being extroverted especially with today's influence in society.

I never knew what an empath was until I was called one. I learnt that being an empath means pathetic. After being taken advantage of so often I learnt what a Dark empath was. I now have learnt that is the best to be. I still feel and care for the innocent people but I love the fear you can put into bad people. It's my way now

As a Sigma Super Empath, we are not so extraverted even though we can socialise for a limited time, we can also pick up on emotions through email as strange as it sounds, I have also tested myself to see if I was an Heyoka, but I do not have the ego to fit that classification (that was the only difference). Trying to seperate Sigma Empath and Super Empath is like trying to differentiate between "are you right handed or are you a human being?" - I am a right handed human being.

The only downside of having the traits of both the super, and sigma empath is that I try to help narcissistic type people even though they don't deserve it. I have very strong energy and most narcissists react to me negatively and defensively.

Some of these people are capable of fixing or breaking people in about 10 minutes...

I am learning to be a more of a sigma empath. I am introverted by nature, love deep dives into my special interests, and prefer "shop talk" over any conversation for the sake of making sounds. I used to feel things so strongly from others that I became a people pleaser to try to stop feeling the negativity of others. The sigma part is now growing as I age and discern healthy vs unhealthy people. Some people grow with my empathy, and others see the empathy as a trait to manipulate. Like dealing an OCPD person will drain me because they are relentless in their pursuit of control over others to soothe their mental illness, while at the same time they are so self-righteous that they never actually try to get any healthier. While THEY might enjoy my empathy, it does nothing to make the relationship healthy for me at all. That's where I've discovered that good boundaries are about self-care, not a negotiation with a toxic person. Empaths are incredibly powerful, especially when they learn how to maintain their energy by feeling out who is a waste of their empathy and who is an ally.

I'm just now figuring out that I'm a Sigma Empath and always have been. Wish I had this knowledge before.

i am a heyoka empath and i think this is a mixture of sigma and super empath.

I would say the difference is not in helping or not helping others. I think both help and do so altruistically but the difference is that Super Empaths probably go places looking for people to assist whereas Sigma Empaths mostly help those who cross their path. I agree with the social aspect too, I think some empaths thrive in social situations whereas others actively avoid them but they both feel very very deeply and strongly for others.

I have been so mentally and physically damaged from theses draining types, that when they cross my path i am now repulsed. I currently have one as a roomate and im physically and mentally drained. Hes been given his notice to leave at the end of the month. He is now giving off extra darkness and negativity.

Sigma, heyoka, indigo, and 2 or 3 other types of empath. Most days its a blessing. Some days its a curse. Wouldnt change it for anything.

I am a Sigma INFJ super impact whenever I say super impact. I mean, that my abilities like an impact are superly extend it. Pretty much everything you're talking about. All-in-one with a little Dose mayhem. I do both but the difference with me is I feel everything more? Hear everything more, see everything more. I have no friends really? But I have no problem. Falling into any position and any social parties. And pretty much both of these that you are discussing super impact and Sigma impact. You're pretty much describing me. The only differences I have more feeling on all of those positions even in the supernatural. But the difference. I'm having Come out of tragedy tragedy and tragedy and tragedy. I know the other side I have gained die self-awareness. On that moment, everything came clear, but the noise is just don't stop. I've always been a little bit of it's there but I don't acknowledge it. Logic no I know it's there. I acknowledge it I accept it, I love it. And I accept an embrace chaos. You should not quantify people into 'types,' for you risk mis-understanding what a person really is -- a unique and constantly changing organism.

Resonates me on Super Empath But mix with Sigma bcoz I’m homebody preferred to be alone and at the same time i like with friends colleagues at work and communicate with customers N colleagues at work ..I’m not fun of social life as I always like to stay at home rather than going out

I think that I am both... there are times I am Sigma, and there are times I am Super. When overwhelmed, I retreat to being Sigma. Maybe that is why I am a hermit on a part time basis. lol. Because, aside from this, i also need to socialize, go to work and have fun too. But reclusion, a long time in solitude is really cool for me and could spend not only hours but days in seclusion. That is why during the pandemic, while the rest were getting crazy, I was still in coolness in my prayers and dancing.

I think super empaths have more tolerance for mistreatment. I think they like people more or feel like they need people. Sigma empaths, not so much. It's pretty rare that we find people we like, but we can carry Love for all people; even the ones we can't stand to be around. We can still be polite to people we don't enjoy spending time with, and will even spend a bit of time with them if they need someone, but we won't hang out with someone that doesn't respect our time enough to appreciate our efforts.

I do not like the division between the two because you can have some qualities of an Empath and some qualities of a Super Empath. Am I not correct?

It's unfair to want to differentiate an already superior personality type. As you can see it makes no sense to many of us. It depends on the day and the mood, the person or situation. I already identified my type a long time ago based on the actual psychological term similar to this. As we go through life, some of us are further shaped by experience. I'm an Ambivert. So both types of lifestyle appeal to me.

Different "descriptive" wordology makes little to no difference in the life of an empath. As an empath we are all at different levels and times in our lives for instance I'm 63 I'm not the same empath I was at 20, 30, 40 etc... Its as in any gift you have (or sometimes being one is a pain because sometimes you want the din and clatter to shut off and you wonder what being "normal" would mean?) I have had to learn how to shut off all the noise and how to navigate a complicated universe when you constantly know whats going to happen, understand without a spoken word, sense danger for some, have a current of everyones energy running into yours and absorbing so much information be it joy of r pain or everything in-between. I have had to learn boundaries and I have met perfect strangers that out of nowhere start sharing significant events in their life that has affected them to the point they cant move forward and have a huge roadblock what they need from me as an empath is what I refer to as a word of knowledge and from there its up to them to figure it out which hopefully leads them to an "ah ha" I get it moment for them. It also usually ends of validating what their going through and helps them clear their confusion. I don't consider my yself egotistical about doing any of this I have finally after years realized for me this is average "normal" for me. My prayer as an empath has always been to understand my boundaries and to give a little and back off quickly to keep myself in check and balance and to NEVER misuse or abuse being an impath to manipulate in any way that could do harm or to benefit myself in a way that I know if I am not careful I have constantly the ability to influence and I never want that on my conscience. Very few people realize at the moment of impact that they're sitting or standing next to someone that is at the moment your eyes meet I as an empath have felt your energy and know without you saying a word what is either giving you your smile or frown. I have been put in situations with complete strangers that before I realize I am speaking to them intimately about their issues I haven't given one thought to what my mouth and subconscious have gone ahead of my presence of mind or being mindful in the moment. Its like I get engaged on autopilot and life happens so fast I have to take my time away from society and seek complete solitude to get a grasp on always having intuition or empathic, reading energy and forever being in the know and not letting it destroy me. All of the dynamics of your relationships to people are different than the rest of the world works. When the people you meet suddenly realize you get them understand them and have helped them I have walked away from complete strangers and they have become a friend for life or like a family member. I hate having people be "grateful" these are the ones if I have helped make me run as fast as I can go because I don't appreciate people feeling beholden to me. I like what the bible says about giving don't let the right hand know what the left hand is doing. I do not brag about anything that I do it or know as an empath I don't post about helping people on social media i am extremely reserved and quiet about. Being an empath to me is more about being discreet than thinking more of myself or wanting to be put on a pedestal. I want to help where I can when I can do no harm and a lot ways remember to be careful not to allow myself to become so involved that I lose sight of or lose myself in the bargain. The most important word i ascribe to being empathetic is to always walk with integrity. Call it whatever you want but at the end of the day it's not about signa or super because as an empath you are constantly evolving and every situation you find yourself in is unique to the person your either trying to ignore or be helpful to. Its not a club its a lifetime of knowing too much and being burdened with hoping and praying you do the right thing. Arrogance with empath isn't a good place to be. Humility and being private are. It is what it is.

I see super and sigma not as different types, but as two stages of an empath`s development. Cheerful, a bit nave super empath - that is how empath grows without hard restrictions, experiences that need to be specifically shaped. So it is like a decade of being between 20-30 years old. Signs can occur, but the steps on the road don`t have to be taken, so struggles with maintaining internal stability and avoiding being overwhelmed by others - that is like a default setup for shaping sigma attitude. So it is like a decade from 30-40 years old. So I suppose that consequences of past experiences are responsible for changing the approach, not differences within the personality as such. Aha, and I see super to sigma stage as organic form of growth, but I don`t see any way back and without saying it is impossible I would say it is extremely low probable. On the other hand if physical body treatment is possible to run process of aging back, there would have to be appropriate tools in subtle matter, I guess...

That's not true either. A Sigma INFJ is not looking for money. He is looking for happiness. I always had a community of two to four women and had a lot of joy in life. I have had many friends throughout my life, especially at university. Sigma are dismissed as loners, that is completely nonsense. Who can blame me for being afraid after so many murder attempts? Wtf do you call it when you have all the traits? I am not a fan of labeling my entire personality with some dorky power ranger name but I have both types. I can be introverted and shy but also charming and confident when needed. It can be more of a hindrance than a super power sometimes and there are people in here calling themselves super giga-megazord empaths.
