It's interesting that you mention the quick sms response, I do the exact opposite. To not come off as too easy or too needy I always wait a while to respond to people I flirt with/ are interested in. If a friend texts me I respond right away if I have my phone up. This is something almost all of my girlfriends do too, so you might be wrong there.
