Silent Hill is one of those horror movies where, although it doesn’t capture the game 100%, its still stands very well on its own. Definitely a classic that I revisit often. Great video guys.

You say although it doesn’t capture the game 100%, its still stands, for me the movie doesn’t capture the game at all 0 % even director said that he doesn’t know anything about Silent Hill, terrible movie, that is not classic, the classic is the the Thing, the SH game is classic

Silent Hill is a underrated film. The atmosphere was very close to the video game. Seeing Pyramid Head on screen for me was the most memorable moment.

I worked on this film for over a year, some of the film was destroyed during devleopment and they had to re-shoot for 2 months, most of it was filmed in Hamilton at the lister block abandoned mall. very spooky place, most of the crew got sick, the mall was full of black mold, asbestos and rotting lead paint. extremely toxic and we shot in there for hours at a time. Local homeless teenagers would sleep in the upper floor, I kept telling them they are going to get sick but they kept coming back. I gave them pizza and left overs from the kraft table.

Yea Hamilton! I told you there was filming locations here!!! Great to see this stuff! When we were younger we would climb over the guardrail and onto the waterfall. Also you guys JUST missed Supercrawl. A big multi day festival on James St, along where the Lister Block (Grand Hotel) is located. You guys would’ve enjoyed that as well!

I came to know the movie Silent Hill through the history of Centralia, Pennsylvania. I am not a horror film fan but Silent Hill is one of a very few that has grabbed my interests. One thing about the filming was how did they do the constant fog when Rose was on the evil side of the town. When the detective took Rose's husband on a tour of the town, they were in a bright, sunny day. Very creepy.

such a underrated film, im so glad the director of the 2006 film is coming back to direct the return to Silent Hill movie that is coming soon, it will be a adaption of Silent Hill 2. the 06 film was a love letter to the fans and is just a great adaption of the source material to the silver screen, they even replicated camera movement from the games which was a nice touch.

I played the original Silent Hill video game when it came out on PlayStation in 1999. Really, Really,..... REALLY loved that game. The movie was spectacular and totally creepy as well, but the video game was off the hook for its time and holds a place in my heart as one of the creepiest video games ever made. Same. I was a HUGE fan of the original Silent Hill on ps 1. Must've plated a million times had cheat codes and all. I did play some of the others but the original is the only one I really remember and have a special place for.

When you ever find yourselves out on the West Coast there are tons of horror movie locations, 1990's "It" tv mini-series would be a good one to start with. The 1980 Canadian horror cult classic "The Changeling" starring George C. Scott was mostly filmed around Vancouver and Victoria standing in for New York and Seattle.

I know a lot of people were disappointed that the movie didn’t lineup with the game 💯. But I think that it did really well to capture the essence of the game and it’s one of my favorite horror movies. I really appreciate all of the research and time you both take into these videos. They’re very informative. I also appreciate you taking a moment to tell those who are having a hard time that there is always someone to talk to. That was such a sad and somber place and I had no idea that was there but it’s good to be aware of it and talk about mental health.

The 3 original Silent Hill games will forever and always be masterpieces in psychological horror ever created and the movies with Radha Mitchell and Sean Bean were in my opinion great acting by these two individuals and awesome adaptations of the games, not perfectly accurate to the games, but still amazing in their own right.

Wow, what incredible timing!!! I’ve always wanted to watch this movie, but none of the streaming sites have it for free. Prime has it for rent, and I realized I had a Amazon credit, expiring September 15, which allows me to watch it for free. A personal thank you for not wasting my credit, which almost expired, and I’m finally able to watch ‘Silent Hill’. Oh by the way, an excellent posting, as usual!

Thanks for helping me. And giving me back some subscriptions. If people don't understand I hope they never have to live it on daily basis. There's always other options. It may not be as easy as it for you just to use my phone it has to go thru all this crap or the volume. I don't know I can't fix it myself. So that's why I never truly know or trust. Silent Hill is one of the good horror movies 🍿 to me. I had the privilege and pleasure of meeting Jodelle Ferland (Alyssa) 2 years ago at Frightmare Horror Con in Dallas 21. She very down to earth and very soft spoken woman. She played one of the best roles in that movie at a very young age at the time.

Those lamp posts, with the horizontal bar at the top, remind me of my childhood town that had similar lamps in the street. At that time in the early 60's they were still gas lights and a man used to come round at dusk and lean his ladder against the horizontal bar and climb up to turn on the gas and light the lamp. They gave off a spooky glow especially when it was foggy.

Silent hill was one of the two first DVDs I bought back in 2006 when I moved out on my own. The other was the shining. Now I have hundreds of DVDs and Blu-ray. I need to get this movie off the shelf. I haven't watched it in years.

Another great video !! A bunch of great horror movies were shot in Toronto, the Toronto city hall was used in the Resident Evil movie and the Cherry Street bridge was used in Land of the Dead.

I remember when me and my boyfriend at the time went to see this at the cinema. We were the only two people in the theatre so it was a great experience. I loved watching my brothers play the game growing up too and thought the film was very true to the feel of the game. Great video, as always!🧡

You know, for as much as I like this movie I never once realized it was filmed pretty much with 45 minutes where I live in every direction... Also, for the amount of time I've spent at the Devil's Punchbowl I never recognized it on the movie. Moreover, I don't think I ever remember that scene in the movie! This is one of my favorite films. I believe you two did a video in Centralia. That was the inspiration for the film Verizon of the town. I live in York Pa. So I'm only a few hours away. But I feel like the Abandoned Pennsylvania Turnpike near Breezewoid gives off a more Silent Hill vibe now than Centralia.

I never played the games but I did watch the movie and I was kind of lost and then what was going on. I'll be honest until I actually sat down and play the game for once and I understood the movie. And I always see people cosplay as the zombies from silent Hill at zombie fest, horror fest or just in general for Halloween. I love how you bring the history to these videos man.
