Just a little tip for your carbon fiber fabric. Before you cut it to size give the carbon fiber a couple of thick coats of hair spray, then let it dry, it will stop it fraying 😊

Thanks to your videos I recently made my sister in law a silver inlay ring with lapis that she and my brother brought back from Peru about 20 years ago. Downsized the dimensions for a less chunky feel, 0.5mm blank and 1.2mm square wire. I gave it to her during a family holiday, think the tears were happiness - either that or she hated it! Thanks again.

the flux for the fire scale, its made out of boric acid and alcohol not borax. And the flame it produces is green. Borax is completely different chemically, you don't burn it.

Yeah I thought something was up with this seeing that it just didn't look right. It was something that someone suggested saying that it would help with fire scale 😅 I will have to make an update video about it using the right stuff. Thanks for pointing it out.

Technically yes but it would require removing material on the inside of the band 😅

How do you make your flux paste? I have a borax cone and a terracotta dish but the water gets absorbed almost instantly.

Hey Randy. When deciding on a lathe to buy for ring making purposes, are there any specifications I have to consider like: wattage, torque, speed etc? Unless you can direct me to a particular machine or page.

serious question. I've been watching a lot of your videos and you seem to use a lot of CA glue. Wouldn't a resin be better? Its stronger, will last a lot longer, and should sand, polish or machine far better.

Actually I made a little research whether for ring inlay its better CA glue or UV resin. CA is better as it's stronger and transparent and not yellowing through time. The advantage of UV resin is heat resistance as in the photochemical process of curing it gets warmer while CA glue actually became unstable and the inlay material might pop out.
