whtgrl81 no they don't put ls engines in trucks, don't believe the first thing you see when you look it up on the internet. The vortec engines were LS based but not LS engines

Hmm? How can you tell? Doesn’t look like it’s your account, have you driven the truck? Cams do much more than make a “chop chop” noise. There IS a function to it, it doesn’t just “sound” good

It’s AMAZING the difference a cam can make with not just great sound, but wake a motor up by 40 to 60 horsepower. The exhaust choice makes it better as well with the sound.

Ryan Craig One of my friends runs a 3” no res with cat to flowmaster44 muffler with cams it sounds nice. Another friend I know runs 3” cat and resonator to borla muffler forget the model. The only reason I suggest that is that this setup has a lot of higher tone rasp which some like but I prefer the deep tone you can achieve.

We are working on my friends 2011 Sierra 5.3. Same color, we lowered it as well. Did you need a stall? Also what kind of tune? He got the same cam specs from Texas speed. Cool truck.

Have you had any problems with your Texas speed headers? I have the same 1 3/4 long tubes and they started leaking after only 6 months of being installed

Sounds mean. All I have is tsp headers, 3” y pipe, volant cold air intake, built 4l60e, trans cooler and custom calibration. But I have to upgrade my gears So it can up much quicker. Do you have your stock gears and transmission?

Regular cab short box of any truck brands is very hard to find the dealerships don't have them you need to order from factory and the used ones aren't for sale.

How much low end torque did you gain seeing the cam is a 224/224 and not something like a 212/218 or something like that. That's what comp cams recommend to me but I feel like it's a bit on the more tame side, I still want good low end torque but I want to gain hp too cause I tow horses and other things occasionally. What do you think?

Trevor C I didn’t gain any low end torque but I also don’t tow any heavy loads so I would honestly go with what’s recommended if you are not trying to lose any towing power

i have a question so if i’d wanna do a stage 3 cam on a 5.3 would it be harder to do then a stage 2 cam? because i heard you had to do way more stuff.
