One thing that helps a lot with the 4l60e is a massive trans cooler. Mine used to keep slipping out of lockup once it got warm until I put the larger trans cooler in
I remember when I cammed my truck I was 15 and had stock 4l60e with stock converter and a pretty shitty tune for how big the cam is, when I got the tranny built with a triple disk stall and a good tune it was a night and day difference. I recommend anyone looking to cam their car do it right the first time with a good shop who will tune it right and pay for a stall.
Bro u made it already 🫡 keep grinding and don’t stop making videos and u gonna reach 50k subs soon 🔜 and never give up even if u feel like theres no point of making videos.
My engine builder told me to stick with the 5.3 and go big with a power adder. Theirs more cylinder walls to play with compared to the 6.2. I have both the L86 6.2 in a 2015 with an 8 speed and a 2007 classic with the regular 5.3. Ima build it along with a 4L80, bug cam ported heads and a lot of nitrous.
Appreciate it brooo!! u help me find the issue for the truck, I just needed to buy a torque converter for my cammed since I had a stock and it will turn off on me .
Looks like it ready for bags that's a nice c notch .I want to drop mine with under bed notch I know it's gonna hit .I bet that set don't bottom out rides good
I got lucky and got an 04 cateye with the trans cooler radiator and a rebuilt jeggs transmission, and the only issue I've had was the shift solenoid which a corvette servo did wonders in preventing again, also having a bad electrical issue with taillights, grounds gd fuses and switches gd so now I'm at the bcm as junction block is gd. BUT she looks so good with new headlights released by Z-OFFROAD LED Headlights Assembly. Even if I get rid of her with these electrical problems I'm getting another cateye so I can keep these headlights lol.
I got a lifted 08 silverado with 37s and its cammed and i went with a 3k stall and went with a 40k trans cooler. Bypass the radiator and it will last longer bc its cooler.
I’m building an LS swapped S-10 with a 4L65e and I’m using a huge aftermarket radiator without trans cooler. I’ve bought a 40,000 GVW trans cooler that I’m mounting under the bed, in the wind but away from debris. I may have to put a fan on it later, I’ll keep an eye on the temps.
Do you know what numbers your pushing with the cammed truck?? * You should keep the v6 and put a BIG A$$ TURBO on the single cab - upgrade trans/ engine management/ fuel - dude on the real not a lot of people do this and it’s a really nice and easy build.. when/if the 6 goes then build the bottom end and throw it back in there wit more boost OR LS swap then
Is this truck RWD or 4WD? I have an ‘06 Sierra I’d like to start building on, but I’m stuck between getting a different RWD truck or going with a built 4x4 tranny and going from there. I also haven’t considered the transfer case, if that needs to be upgraded or not.
Old guy advisory: Make sure you young studs are putting at least 10% of your earnings away in a 401k before tinkering with your cars. It sucks to wake up at 50 with no money.
Gotta get it tuned right for cammed. You are indeed correct the 4L60 is a piece of shit excuse the language but I’m literally saying what it is. It’s fragile. The drive train is fragile. Seriously. I dealt with my families Tahoe. 2002 5.3. Rear end broke twice. Brand new transmission and it just shifts like shit. Shifts hardly. It’s weird! 285HP V8 with a crap drive train. It’s a shame. I’d beef your drive train up dude! Plus that motor some more. Save your money and work hard. I got a old 2003 ram with the hemi I work hard for since I was a teen. That truck is a monster. 450HP from 345HP. Bought it it had 390HP Has a tune, air filter (big K&N filter than the ones you see) exhausts (meh possibly a few horse) MSD ignition was like 15HP added could tell the difference! I did a tune up on it and some other crap I felt power difference for a while i had it at around I’d say 415hp. Custom intake manifold, throttle bodies, exhaust manifolds. Yeah Work hard bro keep at it save the moneys sweet trucks I like the old Chevys a little bit they are nice to drive
@@nbs.reyess yea plus get that drivetrain aftermarket or beefed up. Rear end, transmission. Etc etc. you’d get more reliability and tire smoke back there, plus more speed horsepower and the rest of that fun shit
My 4l60s getting rebuilt Monday, I couldn’t settle with putting stock stuff back in it, so I got some raybestos stage 1 clutches and a vette servo, maybe it’ll last lol
