Simgot EW200 - Technically Balanced 

yep, they are impressive, just need to match the right listeners to it. There just aren't many budget technical 1DD and less at $40usd.

I was just saying the same. I nice group of lower cost sets and then a higher group of upgrades are forming, the hybrids. It would be great to have those upgrade paths again that got lost in planar wars.

Right, the EA500 is closer and driver is better/closer to Olina. EW200 is more like HeartMirror.

Yep, I think as more people use IEMs for gaming, you start to learn that what makes a great set for music isn't the same as a great gaming set. To take it a step further, the new sets with DSP should be able to do both, someone just needs to push them to do it. Or tws, same idea, they have a DSP that you can have gaming presets which is about the sound and latency.

I can't actually figure out the treble sparkle and dynamics. On paper it should sound different. Graphs aren't perfect but I thought it would be different. And certainly if you A/B with EA500, there is a gap. Looking forward to your 3-way comparison.

Two sides to that, EW200 has a more clarity feel so hopefully you don't like your electronic with heavy bass. Where Cadenza sounds right is that midbass, for popular music, it is a level that works. EW200 and SIMGOT in general is lighter in bass quantity. You are probably closer to EW200 though and SIMGOT has been attracting people who wanted cleaner Cadenzas.

Right, it is going to be super close to anything that is Harman close. It is the tilt, it sounds mid-bass lighter and slightly brighter

@@PaulWasabii Idk if I should be happy or worried that most Budget IEMs are doing the same thing. Though I like that budget ChiFis are now going for more Mature Tuning, it becomes difficult to choose. Ultimately, competition is heating up and budget sets are getting better!

I can't explain Sonus. Some people hear it as low res. I think some people prefer EW200. I am with you on Sonus but I know others didn't like it as much. I'd take Sonus over EW200. As I said about EA1000, some chance you need to get their DIY kit. Also one of those things where you watch or read other reviews, the standard nozzles make it a harder sell.

@@sa1f43I have both and the EW200 sounds exactly like the Wan Ers with better tech, yea treble is higher too but if youre used to Wan Er's ear piercing treble its almost exactly the same.

@@patozarantonello8572 It is, but the wan ers are just so good with better eartips, its a league on its own, its an upgrade with tech, but with the experience you get with the wan ers, its special. I havent found the right eartip for the EW200 yet, but the stock ones sound so good to me, the only downside of EW200 is its really fatiguing cause of the treble, the worst part is you wont notice it cause it still sounds good as hell and youre most likely gonna mistake it for a seal problem, eartip, bad song source, dac problem. Its really worth it tho, bout the reds, its much more relaxed, better suited for longer listening sessions, but its also more expensive and not that versatile compared to the EW200. Yeah the EW200 is a direct upgrade of the Wan Er with everything, but its good to have them both. Some songs sound better with lower sound quality, EW200 is too analytical Edit: also EW200 sounds bad with bad sound quality, I cant listen to most music video in youtube, tiktok sounds great tho.

Zero Red is pretty good and would lead me to my next question, the bass curve on Red either puts it in your preferences or not. Best under $50 is all about preferences and picking the one that is closest with the fewest problems like KZ D-Fi. Or Castor as the best bass set. For me personally, 7Hz Sonus is up there on balance and a taste of more expensive tuning. Best under $50 is going to be a range of sets as there won't be one that everything to everybody.

I would say side-grade. You might like one over the other, but there isn't that much difference. EW200 does have a nice driver, but that is a very subtle thing.

Depends on how picky you are I guess. I own the Wan'er, Cadenza and EW200 and I notice an upgrade from left to right, less so between Cadenza and EW200 though. To me, Cadenza / EW200 have much better separation and soundstage. EW200 takes it even further with better imaging, clarity and detail. EW200 is more in your face in terms of upper mids / treble, though, so if you're sensitive to that, EW200 may not be for you. While the upper mids / treble is forward on the EW200, I find it to be smooth.

@@tranner85 how's the treble on the EW200? I love the treble on my Wan ers, but the EA500 was way too bright. On the other hand the Cadeza was too dark for me.

EW200 and T3+ are the same target, no real need to get EW200. Zero is bass leaner and will sound brighter. EW200 at best is a sidegrade to T3+ but I'd keep T3+ for a bit. Lots of sets coming out in the next couple of months

I can at least speak about Gimlet and like some other recent sets, they tried to do something "different" than Harman tuning. Simgot is all about the Harman tuning. I like Harman tuning because it is generally appealing and works with most genres. When you step away from that, a set like Gimlet can be more appealing to some people but I never narrowed down who that was or is or what music is better. I didn't immediately see the payoff for doing something different, it is just different. That being said, more than a few people really, really like it so I know it does something well, but I wouldn't blind buy it. EW200 is a safer choice. FD100 may be safer too, I haven't paid too much attention to it.

Yeah Kiwi Ears Cadenza is like middle of road. You can go a bit brighter in EW200 or darker with Hola.

Yeah 90% is close but very different drivers. If the EW200 was the same price as EW100, I'd say try it as it does sound more technical. The EW200 driver is very special and easily wins there but I think other reviewers got along better with EW200. For me, EA500 is a much better set for not that much of a difference in price. On the other hand, more than a few people like EW200 more than EA500 but generally EW200 is closer to a HeartMirror in sound than it looks on the graph.

The KZ ZVX and the EW200 also have exactly the same frequency response curve except for the upper treble.

@@PaulWasabii i returned them :/ . Im really enjoying the ew200 i have them paired with mandarines eartips and they are my defaulto iem at the moment. Its the same with the zs10 pro vs the zs10 pro x. i find the latter a better iem for me. Not a bass head in any matter but i do want the sub frequency present and fast with the mids. Highs i want them present but not overly present to the point of fatiguing or annoying to the point they sound fake/artificial. Btw ordered the tin t2s OGs for the collection. I stopped looking for 1 rule them all. Instead i have pairs for different purposes like music/gaming/movies and classical music which i consider planars been the best in this genre.

Olina SE, Simgot EA500, KZ AS24 are some heavy hitters for the price. In the 1DD range, Kiwi Cadenza, KZ D-Fi, TRN MT4.

@@PaulWasabii I own the Cadenza and love them for music. I also use them for the occasional TV show / movies and games, and while the stage has decent width, I find them to be lacking in terms of depth. How do the EW200 compare to the Cadenza in that regard? Also how do the EW200 compare to the Cadenza overall?

Clear, high res sound is 7hz Zero.

Yeah, generally the metal shells are very nice and comfortable. Zero:Red is not the most comfortable shell as it was built to work with those special drivers.

I'd prefer balance tonality for casual uses (aside from music)

I haven't heard it but a still see people who like it. I wasn't a fan of Ola so wasn't interested in Bass even if it was an improvement which it apparently was.

Yes, it would make a nice 2nd set actually.

All these sets are sidegrades. Different flavors but not much that differentiates one from another. EW200 just has more of a cleaner tilt from bass level and upper mid.

I don't but I might start by AutoEQ to a set you like. EQ is something that you need to learn, its not really a great idea to copy/paste others as you should learn your preferences in the process. Your prefs are not their prefs.

I like HBB's Z300. If you like a lot of impact, you almost need to weed sets by the graph, look for bowed out bass curves. Punch has faded away a bit and that is why I called out Z300. HBB also has a 2DD set very soon which is probably going to have nice punch too.

EW200 is you like a bit more treble, Zero 2 if you want balance, Hola if you want less treble. Nothing wrong with less treble, a lot of people like Hola for that reason

Yeah, mostly cause I didn't like the EW200 much. Some people really liked it, but it isn't different from similarly priced sets. As time goes on, cheaper sets got better. Shell is cool though.

Simgot tends to push energy in that 2-3k area. Depends on your music if it will be bright but yes, EW200 is in that ballpark of balanced bright. EA500 is brighter.

If you want a general purpose set, that is EW200. Clear is closer to a huge V, lots of bass and treble

For me, Red but most people like EW200. The nozzles on Red are wide, harder to fit. Also not a lot of midbass. And that is why most people like EW200, closer to a familiar sound for most people
