Hello Mark, I think I got a same problem as you just described in this video my simms p4685 model is alsmost the same as you got in this video apart mine is built backwards but what and how you explaining here and on the previous video I think I got a same problem with mine as I was trying to bleed them the fist 2pipe was spot on diesel started to came but nothing at the last 2pipe. Could you give me please any advice how to find out what’s actually wrong??? Thanks
it limits the travel of the rack and thus limits the rotation of the plunger which changes the height of the spill port, reducing or increasing fuel delivery
What you ground away was the base of the maximum fuel cam. Looks like you have disabled/removed the excess fuel button spring etc. There are 3-4 diff profile max fuel cams that eliminate the need for grinding. I guess with the amount if fuel its getting it woukdnt need it.
Interesting ! I was unaware of the different fuel cams - all I know is this thing puts out the fuel !!! and has never ran so good, it even starts better than it ever has and I've owned the tractor like 25 years
Will be starting better cos the rack is going more into excess fuel rather than max fuel as per factory setting. It will def be throwing a lot of fuel into the bores. What nozzles are you running?
@@matui6983 I'm sorry I do not. They take a stock 5 hole injector (like what you'd see on a 401) and 'edm' the holes out to .020 and do other work internally for greater fuel flow. I had these same injectors on a pump that put out 400 ccs, and I've heard they are good for 800 ccs. In addition to the 5 x 20 injectors, I installed a set of .090 inch (internal size) lines from the pump to the injectors. The first set I had done by a company on the west side of Michigan, but sadly they went out of business. This last set I got from Wimer in Pennsylvania
@@mark_osborne yes simms pump has oil fill on top check bolt on side and drain on bottom.supposed to change it every time you do the engine oil.. Cav has none of that and just is driven off the crank and uses diesel to lubricate it that’s why running diesel lubcricant like howes or marvel mystery is a must in the cav. I have one here from 1970 all original pump leaks like crazy but still runs great. Going to rebuild it this winter with all new seals hope it goes smoothly. It was my grandads he was a peanut farmer around here. Some videos of it on my channel
