In this video, Connor and I review four flavors of Simple Bars. These bars are nut based and use allulose as their sweetener. The ingredients are clean and simple (hence the name), but how do they taste?

Thank you for your important and informative videos. I just found your channel and am so thankful. I love the way you try something and then show your glucose readings. I've been doing keto for two weeks and while I'm in ketosis, have only lost seven pounds. I'm thinking I have insulin resistance and am now doing a 36 hour fast to see if that will help with weight loss. Thank you for your videos. It's the most helpful for me.

Have you tried the Munk pack keto nut and seed bars? I found them at Walmart and I think they're pretty good. The peanut butter dark chocolate flavor is one of my go to snacks since I found them.

Interestingly, there is a certain percentage of viewers that tell me I should keep the volume at full power and show my full chewing/tasting. Fortunately, that's probably only 1-2 comments per tasting.

These sound perfect for someone like me that doesn't have a sweet tooth. I'd definitely like to taste the one with turmeric and also the chocolate sea salt.

I lived in China for 4 years and dragon fruit was a very popular fruit. It is very hard to explain the taste, but it is not super sweet.

@@sunnystar3321 of course- here are the ingredients for the dragonfruit: Almonds, Peanuts, Soluble Tapioca Fiber, Allulose, Brown Rice Crisps, Chia Seeds, Dragonfruit Powder, Sea Salt, Monk Fruit Extract.

I figured the chocolate would have the best flavor - only because I'm allergic to chocolate!! But it's always helpful to have something to snack on that won't knock you out of keto! Thanks Steve (and Connor)!!!

Thanks for the review, Steve. These have similar ingredients to Munk Pack. I like their Granola Bars. Have you tried Munk Pack, if so do you have a favorite Granola Bar?

I have not tied those. I like the Nola bars the best, but those are practically candy bars. Regardless of brand, I probably only eat one keto “granola” bar per week.

Dragonfruit is the most disappointing thing I've ever eaten. Dragonfruit looks like it should taste like the best, wildest, most interesting flavor you'll ever have. Once tasted, you realize cardboard has a more dramatic flavor! The bars looked nice, though!! 😁

Breakfast blend for unflavored, probably cinnamon roll for the flavored. Though I just had a bag of their pistachio flavor and that was pretty delightful.

For those of us who do total carbs these are a definite no-no. Also pretty cost prohibitive if they are keto snacks. Each bar is barely over an ounce so it would hardly be satisfying for any length of time. Sorry, I'll pass on this one. (about $34 a pound).

They say "no sugar alcohols", but isn't allulose a sugar alcohol?

Nope. In fact it's either pre- or probiotic, is good for the gut microbiome and evidence is mounting that it can blunt a glucose response.

@@SeriousKeto i work off grid as a medic out for long periods of time so shopping us delivered from the closest town, which is athabasca Alberta canada, staying keto isnt cheap, my food order is over $500. This week, no meat, $335.last week no meat...so yes i make keto meals last without packages, as i can not get anything delivered unless its in that store period, so keep making how to videos please, i research best ideas mostly from your experiments tyia medic shirley miller
