The caliber 44s are awesome, I have a tip if you want to ever still use your downhill board and have more response from the 44s without switching the stock bushings to achieve this. Flip the roadside washer so that it acts as a flat washer. It provides less restrictive behaviour and turns better at medium speeds when you do this, I also recommend getting a venom “stepped cone” or “fat cone” bushings to put boardside to the stock barrels roadside, it really keeps the trucks in check.
Yeah true, I used to run my Calibers on 87a barrical (or stepped cone) on the bottom and 85a barrel on top. And yeah I agree once again, flipping your roadside washer will allow your bushing to be able to move more
Hello, am a newby here with longboarding, I would love to know if I can use the inverted kingpin trucks (gullwing and caliber) for doing grinding tricks on a curb or parking block. Lov your vids, very helpful!!!! Keep shreding man
Depends on the Gullwing trucks you have, you can use the Gullwing to do grinds, but you can't with Calibers. Gullwing are the only RKP (or inverted) truck I know that can grind because the kingpin won't be in the way. Appreciate the compliments bro :)
Downhill254 - Kenyan Longboarding I have a set of Gullwing Charger, looks like there is some clearance to grind. Do you change the stock bushing on your trucks? Cone/barrel???? How to determine what kind and bushing shape????
Ah, then you should be ok. Yeah I do. So it depends on what I wanna do, if it's cruising, a cone/barrel setup is ok, if its freeride/downhill a barrel/barrel setup is best
Depends on the setup. I'm running 90/87a bushings on my Paris 43* trucks & my other setup has a 44/35 Caliber trucks split. Currently running 85a upfront and 90/87a at the back, feels a bit sketchy so we'll see how it goes :)
Thanks man do you find harder bushings or lower angle trucks more stable I'm running all 4 bushings 90a but feels unstable I'm not sure if it's because I'm on 50 degree trucks or not tight enough
Lower angle trucks with the right bushings are definitely more stable. People who have 50degree trucks for downhill often have really hard bushings (like 93a). I recommend getting new bushings or picking up 44degree-ish trucks. Which ever is easiest for you
