Lessons learned for all. 2-1 ratio on all rice packaging for water to rice is WRONG. 1.5 to 1 is always perfect. RINSE the rice, it removes the STICKY starch. Salt the water, don't know why folks who cook forget this. Finally, do consider stock for a liquid. It adds a ton of flavor.
The way you prepare your dishes I feel you or your family members must be from South India .I feel proud you are doing our dishes god bless you and good day
Looks really good! Ps Please keep the water you wash your rice in. Keep it to wash your hair with. Wash your hair as usual wash and rince) after then rince it again with the"rice water", let it be 2-3 minutes... Then rince with water. Really makes the hair soft. Tip I learned in Thailand.
Your welcom! Don't forget to heat the water in the microwave (1 min) before use, so it's little hot... I wash my hair one a week with rice water and feel really a difference. Much softer.
Hi, this is really foolproof and is my go to recipe since I discovered it. I tried to cook biryani several times but failed because I couldn't get the right texture for the rice. Could you, please, make a beginner's size biryani? For maybe 4 people?
Hi...nice receipe....but you dint add any chillies for spiceness...if we can add ginger nd garlic...when to add....do we need to saute them first nd them add the carrot nd peas along with rice nd water ...pls clarify this doubt....i would like to do it tomorrow
Libia Jimenez- sure you can use brown rice. Use 2 cups of water for 1 cup of brown rice. This is a simple steamed rice recipe and can be eaten with a flavourful side dish.
TheVicdub - cook the chopped carrots in 1/4 cup water - covered - in low heat for a few minutes and then add the rest of the ingredients and cook it as shown in the video.
