A lot of people mock the drop down sun shield, but when you ride to work every day and the mornings are too dark to use a tinted visor, that drop down sun shield is great to have.
Good video. Something to note I watched a video from Infamous Creep who noticed his Simpson helmet wasn't made in the USA. Could be what's going on with the manufacturing differences.
Not sure if you mentioned it but compared to my Bell Star and my Shoei the Ghost Bandit is LOUD! It is definitely the lightest and very comfortable but the outside noise I get is maybe 50% more than the other 2 I mentioned.
Only helmet I can think of that might look a little cooler is the Ruroc helmets. Though... the quality on those are questionable. Icon helmets are pretty unique looking as well. I've been looking at getting a Ghost Bandit. I don't ride a Harley but my Yamaha Raider does get mistaken for one from time to time. My only real worries are the wind noise. Currently using a Bell Qualifier DLX MIPS. I am between the L and XL with the Ghost Bandit, a tad closer to the L and not sure which to get.
Raider is a great bike - As for the wind noise, just throw in ear plugs and the noise will no longer be a factor - As for sizing, I would try to make the Large work
Honestly man, that was the boat I was in and I could not get either to work for me - I wound up going with Outlaw Bandit route in medium, and that's what I run to this day

Simpsons are not made in America. I called them about my ghost bandit that I ordered two months ago and they said they are still waiting for them to ship from china
I really appreciate you posting that because I'm about to get one and you may have saved me alot of BS over sizing... I'm in the Medium to small range and would be pissed if it was too big...
I have 12 helmets, 3 Simpsons. Curious how you came to the conclusion of the Bandit having the best airflow than any other helmet you’ve had. There’s borderline ZERO ventilation in it aside from the little screen vents in the jaw line. No top slide vents, no rear exit ports. Nada. Its is light and cool looking though no doubt. But I also find it to be one of the loudest helmets I’ve ever had, even with earplugs.
I know what you mean, and yes strangely enough, I do feel like I get more airflow out of my Simpson helmets than either of my Shoeis, can't explain it, just my experience
I really like the style of the helmet obviously but the helmet hasnt had an update in terms of material or quality etc for what 6 years now seems like it needs a refresh maybe a 2.0 or something does the lining or weight/materials seem like they are a bit dated when comparing to some of the more recent helmets
We don’t have to wear helmets here in CT but I got fucking smoked in the chest by a rock on the highway and have worn a helmet ever since. If that would have hit my face I would have been dead from either the rock impact or the 80mph crash.

I have a bigger head so I'll probably check out the Ghost. I appreciate the review though! I'm surprised it vents so well with just those openings in the front
Honestly I think it depends. For example, if you have a helmet that you have only used say, twice, would you replace it after 3-4 years? I think at the end of the day it comes down to use/wear. Regardless, I was never fond of homework B.
@@FXDLSBrooklyn btw if you buy a small you can ask for the smallest pads they have. That’s what I do because when you wear down the pads the medium doesn’t even fit anymore.
I've listened to you carefully and I share some of your thoughts which in fact is reality but l can't find the link for the dealer/ manufacturer to purchase that said helmet.
Nice review. I believe in having no helmet laws, however those who don't wear a helmet really haven't been in a real accident. I wear a helmet all the time for vision, abrasion protection and impact protection. I have been hit in the eye with a grass hopper around 25 mph I couldn't see for about 50 feet on a Levee road, I could easily gone into the river. In 82 I went down because a guy ran over me and my full face Nolan kept my chin from abrading. Have a great ride and keep the shiny side up.
That's kind of the same thing I have noticed over the years, which is people who generally do not wear gear when they ride either have never gone down themselves nor have had anyone close to them go down
