I wish they used this stuff pack to include a stove for the kids and that the kids could sell their food on a table. We lack so much gameplay for kids and elders they should start focusing their future work plans on these ages.

They should've just fixed Dine-Out, and added this stuff pack to the refresh, and they would've made more sales from it while earning some goodwill with the communities as an added bonus. It's so shameful that they sold the pack the way they did, so anti-consumer. Dine Out has so much more gameplay possibilities with running any type of restaurant, or just using it for storytelling with dates, anniversaries, celebrations, etc. It's a shame that it's broken.

What I don’t understand is why they didn’t refresh the dine out pack. If they refreshed dine out and gave us waffle makers, pizza ovens, and cake, mixers in that pack it would’ve solved everything. And you know maybe work on fixing the bugs in dine out. I mean, of course I understand they want to make more money. But it’s just stupid. Like if they refresh the dine out pack and did all of this to dine out, I would actually buy dine out. I think it would’ve been such a better idea to refresh a pack and add cooking supplies to it. And honestly, I’m sure it would’ve brought more customers to dine out. EA just always disappoints us.

I'm actually gonna say I'm glad this is a stuff pack. I think it's still a little niche but I am pretty happy as someone who is always looking for more stuff to have my Sims do. I can see me making this my Sim's weekend hustle in City Living or something, having her go to San Myshuno gardens and working like a food vendor there.

You could simply have one dish called “Sim Food”. And the game play would be identical across all food-related packs. 1. Sim reaches in fridge. 2. Sim mixes bowl. 3. Sim pours something into a pot or baking pan. 4. Sim insert pot/pan in cooking device. 5. Sim removes pat/pan. 6. Sim pours into serving dish. 7. Sim grabs food, and stands next to serving dish to eat it. That’s the gameplay we’ve bought across how many packs now?

Oh suuuuure. Simmers have been wanting to make pizzas at home instead of ordering them since… forever. Couldn’t have just put it in a simple update a long time ago. Gotta stick it in a cash grabby pack just like ice cream in Cool Kitchen.

I kinda like it, way better than spending £10 on kits that have no new gameplay. I can already imagine a rags to riches just by selling pizzas.

Why don’t they just hire Carl to fix the freaking dine out pack?

I'm one of those people who actually like new recipes in the sims 4😅 Especially I really like the descriptions of dishes from different cultures:)) And I like the mechanic of learning new recepies in City Living expansion pack (if I'm not mistaken). Wish it would be a base game feature scince I don't have this pack) This new stuff pack looks interesting for me, but I try not to be over excited because we all know how glitchy it can be))

What I found interesting in this pack is: fridges matches with the rest furniture! This wallpapers! OMG finaly I can make a kitchen in style common in Poland! I'm super excited for this little stuff, because I always strugle with making the kitchen :)

They set the bar so high with Paranormal Stuff, so happy that they're maintaining the standard they set for themselves. I love rags to riches gameplay so I'm excited for this! I also love cooking gameplay. I use icemunmun, oni, and grannies cookbook mods to get as many recipes as possible.

Honestly it does tread on already well trod territory but to be honest I'll take a stuff pack over a nonfunctional kit any day. As well as I use grannies cookbook because I always want more things for my sims to cook so I'll defiantly be picking this up! At the end of the day I hope this does well as to encourage more stuff packs and less kits.

Tbh I still haven't recovered from the livestream yesterday where they announced that TS4 might still exist for YEARS.. it's a never ending nightmare

The problem is that kitchen appliances are something people have been asking but for a very long time, but this is another example of them hearing the words and not giving what is being asked for. Remember in Sims 2 and 3 how if you had a food processor it made cooking faster and the sim didn't have to chop by hand or if they had a mixer they didn't mix by hand? Thats what people have been asking for. This is not it. I know this is not it because they are not going to go through and find all the recipes in all the pack, heck not even just base game, and give alternate animations for each one. They are so stingy with animations that they could/would NEVER do that. So instead they are giving appliances that make specific recipes and now the sim can make new things if they buy the appliance. Like I said, its not just not listening to what people asked for since basegame, but they just "could never". So now they will say "Look we gave you the appliances you asked for" when they know its not what they wanted. But everyone wants new counters and kitchen decor, so the pack will still sell.

Just a reminder that you mentioned but you can own a bakery out of Get to Work... This might have cross compatibility with that. You can have seating and they DO sit down and eat (sometimes, lol). I've honestly not had a good chunk of the issues other players have with that pack and my biggest complaint is not being able to run business out of your own home. It should have come with a better world, with the ability to run a business from the ground floor and an apartment or home on top, with a possible attic workshop or basement workshop. There are mods to fix that but they haven't been updated in ages and the last time I played, were broken. I'd really like it if someone picked that up again along with the StrangerVille mod for the Mother Plant, I might even start playing again, lol! PS. Just an FYI as to why they might not have gone with running a business out of the home. It's no longer a commonplace thing in the US. Guidance codes, City Code, and Building codes prevent it. Most towns and cities don't let you have a business out of your home as you have to zone either commercial or residential. So I get why it was an after thought but its still frustrating.

I agree on the recipes. Unless there is something for game play, like eating blueberry cupcakes makes you blue or something, then the recipes make no difference unless you are in the culinary career. Just having your Sims take care of their hunger need, they can eat anything (within their dietary restrictions).

You actually said what I think it is. I wasn't that blown away and you are right. It is a repackage gameplay elements. I guess it's a good thing stuff packs are back, but I do feel other than the feature items (waffle machine, mixer and pizza oven), everything else were meh

I tried running a restaurant and it’s so broken. Anyway, I would love to see more ramen dishes in the game and more noodle dishes in general. In sims 2 you actually can just heat up a ramen cup and I love that. A noodle maker would be amazing but Why can’t they fix their already broken packs? I do use mods for additional custom food.

Anyone else a bit fatigued from all these shitty packs? Because I sure know I am.

I'm actually pleasantly surprised by the idea for this stuff pack, as it does seem to add a fun little new gameplay option. I hope they let you sell food other than just pizza/cupcakes/waffles, as I think it would be really cute to be able to have child Sims open their own lemonade stand (even if they don't get complex animations for the non-pack-exclusive foods).

Cooking is always an important part in my sims’ life so this will be fun.

Actually we have had the yard sale table since city living so eco and jungle adventures just doubled down on an already established feature The only reason I got cool kitchen stuff was because the ice cream brought some old school sims flavor with flavors that make sims gain or lose weight, makes a sim haunted or mentally unsound for x hours, makes a sim breath fire or turn ice cold blue and the bonus items for the kitchen walls but as far as the cupboards and cabinets went their textures were below underwhelming even for a stuff pack and they look awkward in contrast to other build objects as well the one selling feature for the kitchen was the swan faucet sink which they would later release an identical version into the base game Just a little salty ngl Do I over use the ice cream in all my plays to make me feel better about that purchase? Absolutely.

You know what would be really nice for EA to do??? Revamp ALL of the basegame CAS and B&B... FOR FREEE. So many items could look really good if they fixed it up a bit. With all these new packs it keeps outdating the base game more and more.

Intresting that EA is now looking to see what CCs the Simtubers are using in their videos and try to recreate them themselves and sell them in packs! I mean look at Luxe Stuff pack the objects there are so much like PlatinumLuxeSims & Bergdorfverse CCs (Bags & all the Luxe stuff there) and now this Home Chef Hustle tries to somehow do Brazenlotus, Somik & Severinka's Food CCs as stuff pack content! (since everyone somehow are using their Bags & Food CCs) I don't think that's far from truth tbh since they are slowly running out of innovative content so they can maybe imitate CC Creators!

I'm excited for the pack, but I really just want the new appliances and game play. I agree they could sell this as kit or do like they did with TS3 store where you could buy kits or individual pieces, so like for example if you just wanted the new appliances, you could buy those.

Not me thinking about all conversations we would get in sims 3..

Honestly even tho it is a abit cashgrabby I’m very excited yes I know it had the same thing in other packs but I’m an inspiring person who wants to get into bakery & my sim is also a baker so this will be great for the legacy I think it depends on what type of person you are what you’re hobbies are to be excited for this pack but I’m really excited & don’t mind if it doesn’t have cross play.

I'm excited for this stuff pack. Not only does it have cas, build buy, and decent gameplay. It has new food. It's mostly focused on food, unlike dine-out, which focuses on owning a restaurant. So it's not reused ideas at all.

I'm just saying, spooky season is practically here. I think it would have been more thematic to have Grim Reaper stuff, the promised goth clothes, and the medieval build.

It’s so ridiculous that people get excited over items and pay no attention to the lack of actual gameplay.

As someone who is, unfortunately, limited to console... I'm pumped just for the CAS and build items--especially as a serial builder. I do think the gameplay will be neat, but that's more of a bonus for me in this case. I've recently started a storyline in my current main save where one of my Sims has aspirations of becoming a successful master chef and owner of their own restaurant, so I think this could be great for storyline purposes as well.

i actually love new recipes. especially considering the fact that they got better at making the food look apetizing. some of the base game/early packs dishes look like a colorful blob on a plate

a babysitter stuff pack could be nice we can able to babysit kids at our house or the sims home we’re babysitting for & the ability to run our own day care. give us a Sims 4 dance studio pack for us to have the ability to give dancing lessons, own our own dance studio, teach ballet 🩰 lessons as well & more. he’s so SHADY he reads & throw shade at this Sims 4 pack & seems to enjoy it, loves it !

So when I saw the pizza oven, I thought of the Seinfeld episode where Kramer has the ~brilliant idea~ to have a restaurant where customers make and bake their own pizzas. I kind of hope I can make this happen somehow in the game. 🤣🤣

Next to all the things others simmers want (cars, etc.), I wish they would make a music pack. I miss depth with musical activities, while many people have music related hobbies. I mostly want more instruments, but I also want bands, I wanna play in an orchestra, maybe a theatre for musicals and dance shows. Oh and I would love some very long hair options

I just wish the kids could personally sell stuff like lemonade, ice cream, and cookies for fundraising or just for fun in the summer. Or if we had Girl Scout baked goods to sell. I dunno. Bit of a missed opportunity there.

I was complaining about it too when I thought it just came with a waffle maker but now im actually super excited and this is the first sims pack that im gonna buy on release in YEARS. I love cooking in the sims so the fact that we can now sell the food at a stand is really appealing to me, in the past i would open a bakery when i wanted my sims to sell food but honestly i really hated doing it because it would take HOURS for sims to buy stuff, im hoping the stand functions more like the yard sale stands where they kinda just buy the stuff without much convincing

So, am I the only person on the planet who has dine out and thinks it works fine? My Sims go out to eat, get their meals, it works as long as you don't try to speed up the time. If you do it on normal speed, it works

There is a Moder that made a buffet table. I think it’s RVSN. Your sim has to pay to eat from it but the only thing is I don’t think your sim will get the money if another sim eats from it. I use it in my city builds when I want a restaurant on the same lot as other businesses.

Honestly, I would only care about the pizza making thing because I have Sim who's like an Italian who runs a bakery, but I also only cared about horse ranch for the nectar and mods can do that without paying 40 bucks

They should turn Luxury Party into a kit, and then give anyone who owns it a voucher for a free kit of their choice to make up for the cost.

I hope they make some interesting food like you said for example skinny sim pizza and your sim looses a bunch of weight similar to the ice cream they said in the notes that you can eat cookie dough out of the mixer

See if they sold it as a kit it would have been sold in 3 separate kits. One for each appliance. Think about bust the dust. That only came with vacuum cleaners. It didn’t come with other cleaning things like brooms or like a feather duster. That’s because that would be a separate way to clean. If this was released in kits you would have had the waffle maker kit which would have just the waffle maker maybe with a few different designs for waffles if we are feeling REALLY fancy like squares, circles, hearts, etc. Then you’d get the mixer kit which might come with just the stand mixer and then maybe like a normal blender mixer. Finally there would be the pizza kit which would come with the small pizza maker and then maybe a bigger one for indoors and outdoors. Each of those kits would be $5 so $15. That’s not to mention you wouldn’t get the kitchen set (which I know he said he didn’t care about) but that would be a separate kit (like country kitchen kit) for another $5. Soooo you would be paying $20 which is a gamepack price for it and it still wouldn’t include the selling stand (which we don’t know the full gameplay behind yet). So I am very glad they sold this as a stuff pack instead of kits and I think it’s actually worth it. (Still will probably get it on sale, but that’s just because I don’t play the sims much anymore because I am so busy)

Personally I think it's recycled content. Never bought Dine Out due to its horrendous bugs, nor bothered to run a shop in Get to Work. It's still waaay too EASY to make money in Sims 4 in general. I guess if you like the culinary aspect and running shops in game then maybe??? (I rather would just do a regular career) Cooking new recipes with new appliances isn't exactly "new gameplay" to me. Thank you for going over these packs for those who don't want to risk getting them 😂

I really like the tiles particularly at that height for kitchen splashback so provided it comes with enough stuff I'd consider this. Stuff packs generally have been value for money (especially on sale) - unlike kits which are not value for money under my currency. Also, lol the placement of that smoke detector by EA at 4:42 is hilarious. IRL we all know about burnt toast when it's at the end of the kitchen. Suddenly Sims 4 decisions and priorities start to make sense - perhaps these people have never cooked in their lives.

Gameplay idea: Going to the GYM and selling pizza to all fitness oriented sims and slowly looking how they are getting fat :P

There's never enough kitchen cabinets! Most of the existing ones suck. I generally use cc kitchen as the existing ones just ain't that good...

I’m happy we’re getting a pizza maker cause I loved that in TS3, but I’m disappointed we don’t have a rustic looking brick pizza oven because I think I’d be more likely to use that in builds (like in a patio set or older-styled kitchen). The pizza maker just looks very basic and not aesthetically pleasing to have permanently in my kitchen :/ hopefully they prove me wrong and we get more stuff than what the trailer shows, but I’m not keeping my hopes up

Howdy hi hi, I just picked this up to catch up on the content I was missing. And honestly I'm really enjoying this. I almost always use the lot challenge simple living which is where you have to have the ingredients in order to actually prepare a dish. This in combination with a mod that turns off the spoilage mechanic. And thus far yeah I'm enjoying how things are working now. By segmenting out preparation steps my sim can do a bit of work at the start of the week, and then enjoy meals prepped in much shorter time frames. I haven't done any of the table/yard sales as of yet. But I imagine that could be fun as well. Especially when combined with juicing, or other types of crafting. Gemology, the new skill coming out for the next stuff pack on the 29th looks like something I'll enjoy as well.

No, it's not new gameplay at all. I think simmers should really understand what "gameplay" is, because sooooo many simmers think that "gameplay" means new animation or new items. A very good example is food, just because we get new recipes does not mean we're getting a new gameplay, you're still doing one thing which is cooking. You'll still need ingredients, you're still leveling either the baking/cooking/gourmet skill lines. The only variable in that gameplay is what kind of food you produce in the end. How can Maxis expand the cooking gameplay? Well, maybe if you have to actually learn how to make those food, instead of just learning them because you've leveled up your cooking skill line, they already did that with City Living (somewhat) when you first have to eat the food first before learning it, but then they didn't continue with other food from other packs, or maybe having our sims join a cooking class, so you randomly learn new recipes every time you join. Or even just sims who has knowledge of "x" recipe teach another sim that recipe, maybe parents sims can teach their kids those recipes. And if they really want to go even deeper maybe they add the ability to have a special ingredient when you reach a certain level in the cooking/gourmet skill line, you know, how most have secret ingredients they have in their dishes, like a family or chef secret. I just wish simmers know the difference between gameplay vs just a skin being added for the same gameplay. Having said all of those, I think this new stuff pack is decent. I do not expect new gameplay, since it's a stuff pack. I do like though new ways of cooking. I think those new appliances are nice, and that they are portable.

Buffet table replacement shouldn't be too hard to do. Sounds like a good idea. My limited skills in modding/CC making include object replacers using other existing EA content. Thinking maybe another small stand could he used instead, like the cottage living stands or something

I think the get busy slogan could possibly be referring to the next expansion which I feel could be a really bad remake of sims 2 free time? Trying to upgrade hobbies, I wish the recipe book would work like the one from sims 1 where it opened up a baking menu but I doubt it will be and just be another object, as horse ranch wasn’t that long ago I feel this pack and the next expansion may just be half done thing for the sake of getting stuff out there

I think i would like this actually. Dine out doesn't work and i don't have Get Together. So for as cheap as stuff packs are, I'll definitely buy it and have my sims sell pizza and use that new tile backsplash in my kitchens

Ravasheen have a bg buffet mod and its amazing you can literally add what foods you want and your sims and npcs can enjoy

Hope there’s a mod that lets you make calzones and other food in the pizza oven. There was a place in my university town that cooked wings alongside the pizzas in this massive pizza oven. I think they was pasta too, but it shut down two years ago. But I digress. It’d just seem like a waste of space of counter if the pizza oven and waffle maker weren’t utilized for other food dishes. I only used my popcorn and ice cream maker for pool parties or sleepovers (if I even remembered them).

My take: The mixer is totally useless. What will happen differently from making the hamburger cake with a mixer vs the regular way? The pizza oven I think is a good idea. It brings in something different. Same with the waffle maker but why stop there? How about a toaster for BASE GAME? Also not needing the dreaded cupcake machine to make cupcakes is finally here! I just wish they would add some of this gameplay to the base game. I have all the packs and play with all the packs, but I build for the gallery using basegame only (mostly. It's so lacking in basic things.

This should've been implemented as home delivery service like Home Chef and you just put the food in a package in the mailbox, OR a self manned and stocked food truck. Would've taken it to the next level thematically. Freelance category would've been better than the selling table.

I pretty much agree. Give me a kit with the three new gameplay kitchen utensils and their recipes. That's all I want. Like some mentioned, wood have loved a child's oven and the ability for kids to run a little food stall or lemonade stand.

If the table is for food, I want a mini fridge capability! O.O

Lol I downloaded a cc mixer to make cupcakes in. Im glad they’re making it actually a thing in game now so people don’t have to use cc/mods.

I'm happy stuff packs are back. I'm just a little disappointed this pack is based around food and cooking. It would have been nice to have something brand new but equally I will buy it as I do like to have all the sims packs.

I think there is also a new prepped food requirement gameplay element coming with it which sounds fun

I had given up on Sims 4, but this may sway me to end my boycott temporarily. I always play with at least one stay at home parent when I play a family, so any home based gameplay is always welcome.... Ngl, this is extremely tempting

As much as waffles and pizza are some of my favorite foods…can’t you already make waffles, and I know you can order pizza. So….I’ll save myself $10 (is that how much Stuff Packs are?) and cope with the regular waffles and pizza. Plenty of things you can already sell on the selling tables already, so really no point unless you just want some appliances in your kitchen, imo.

I’ll respectfully disagree with some of your take here, if that is okay. While I am personally a miserable completionist bitch, I think that this will be a great pack for people that don’t have all the packs that this one is copying. Overall, I agree that EA is running out of ideas though. Hope that makes sense.
