@@letsgotomarsmantires on a truck are significantly more expensive, they get half the gas mileage of a car, insurance is more expensive, etc. There’s a lot of expenses on a truck that aren’t just the purchase price
2 parts. A. He signed on for the show voluntarily, and it's hard to know someone's attitude to the money problem without talking to them. B. Dumbasses make for good content, rage and frustration are great for dragging in viewers
@@specops1903 And how do we know it's not a diesel? The owner would have thrown "diesel" or "Cummins" around like candy when talking about the truck. 😅
that last sentence is so real. I have so many friends with trucks and I've tried telling them so many times that they literally never haul ANYTHING.. you can go buy a sedan and get double the fuel economy
I have friends that in 7 years have barely put 20k miles on their truck... Me, I average 7-10k and it's not a daily driver! I have a beater car for that.
@@letsgotomarsman yes this is usually true, but 1. you can rent a truck any time you want and 2. you get like 30-40% less fuel economy even if you don't care about fuel economy, a sedan is much more fun to drive than a truck
@H4zZ4rDGaming1 believe as you will that a car is more fun to drive.... I like driving my truck more than my car..... ofcourse I use my truck all the time and I hook a trailer to it quite often
my 2015 w 214k aint worth but $1,500-2k .. dude should keep that one, two grocerie store trips for what he would get for a running vehicle aint worth it
Trucks, even if they’re super reliable, are SO expensive. Their gas tanks are bigger, so filling them up takes more money, but also their gas mileage is typically pretty terrible, so you have to pay more often to fill up your truck. Per month, to fill our 2012 Ford F-250, which we drive everywhere despite also having a car, it’s probably around $150-$200. And that’s just with us living in a city. If we were to travel like we used to before we moved, it’d be a lot more expensive. If you aren’t using your truck for what it’s intended for, which is carrying or towing stuff that a car can’t, then you probably don’t need that truck.
U-Hauls are 20 bucks a day, if you NEED a truck bed, plan it out and get a U-Haul for a day or make friends with people that have truck, they love to use that bed so they will usually be willing to help out just get em lunch or gas money
As someone who bought a truck for his second vehicle, I'd have to disagree a bit. I'd say 80% of Americans don't need a truck. What I hate seeing is a RAM 3500, jacked up, and running thin tires. Aka, a pavement princess. From my experience and my discussions with insurance, trucks are rated higher in safety and cheaper on insurance. I bought my truck to pull the family horses around. Even after my accident, I paid $150-ish a month for insurance and rental insurance. Now, I pay $117 and it's about to go down.
I sold my air cooled 911 i fixed up and owned for years, when I needed the money for other things. Tough to do with things you love, but better than debt with today's interest rates!
I only watched this short but in the event that the truck is paid off it's not a liability. Let the man keep the truck. I have a paid off '22 Silverado Z71 just taking up space in my driveway in the event that I get the hankering to haul some lumber from the closest big box because I HATE waiting and I hate having to borrow anything from friends which means no renting and no asking.
Having two vehicles is not a bad idea. When one breaks down it can make the difference between going to work and picking your kids up from school or not at all. Also dude has a second vehicle that's over 15 years old. Not like he's in severe debt over it
9/10 times you just need to rent a truck. Unless it’s needed for work (ex./ for construction materials at least once a week) or location (ex./ where I live I have to haul my trash to the dump weekly, collecting firewood for the winter, etc)
Lol!! If you live in the country on a farm you NEED a truck! A truck with an 8 foot bed but unfortunately those are hard to find! I laugh when I see double cabs with a 4 foot bed! Those are ridiculous!! 🙄
A minivan would serve the "uses" of a mall crawler truck AND be more practical because of his 10,000 children. And this is coming from a someone who has a truck (but a paid off one). DQ *needs* the image of being a manly man. Too bad he's not interested on *wanting* to be a responsible man.
You never NEED a Dodge RAM, you may want one, but you don't need it. It's a useless vehicle compared to other smaller trucks. You may need a bed, but the bed is laughably small for the vehicle attached to it. You may also need the seating, but getting two vehicles is probably cheaper than the taxes and gas an f-ing RAM needs.
I really don't understand the obsession with pickup trucks, especially those large SUV styled ones that have proportionally small beds and are clearly not made for heavy usage.
what i dont get with people is that you dont need a Fancy pants car its only for your own Shit Ego, so buy a working old car with decent milles on it and it only need to be fuel efficent
Lol if you are financially challenged a truck or any other expensive or gas guzzling vehicle just gonna pull you down (unless it's for work and you are getting value from it)

Why won't retirement exist? That sounds crazy as hell. It won't exist IF you depend on the system to provide it for you. Caleb is trying to put people in the position to invest for their own retirement so they aren't depending on the system. Does that idea escape you?
@@jessISaRicePrincess you do understand Social Security is failing rapidly, right ! 100% fact, you can easily look it up yourself… the Social Security payments you’re making now will not be available to you when you retire… if I’m not mistaken, it’s somewhere around 260 billion deficit each year already even Caleb, the accountant talked about this multiple times
If its a good reliable vehicle, it will save you so much money when one car is in the shop or somebody is visiting. I agree on making your own food, huge money saver, but the truck doesn't cost that much and is super useful (in my case) to have as a spare vehicle. don't drive it regularly because its bad on gas.
@@sfowler10179yr olds can use seatbelts, it goes by size not age. And no law says booster seats Must be in the back seat. Many vehicles don't have back seats. It's the reason passenger airbags can be turned off.
Lol. That truck is probably work 5 k max. Umm thats not going to allow him to retire just so you know. That being said. This guy probably sits in his house and stares at a wall because he doesn't need to go experience anything good in life. You don't need anything in this life except water and food. Everything else is a want just so you know
