I wish people would see that just because a child isn’t getting beaten and there parent is, that doesn’t mean that there not affected! As someone with personal experience I can truly say that what I saw and heard really messed me up, but because I wasn’t getting hit people don’t seem to care as much if at all. There is a song called Topsyturvy written and sung by Rodney Crowell that from the viewpoint of a child in that situation. The lyrics will break your heart, and it is written from firsthand experience. Take the time and listen to it. It’ll open your eyes.
