Honestly it was Baras' own overreaching ambition and his fear of his loyal apprentice who has done everything that he's asked that led to this. Where it wasn't for the Republic's sake he rooted these spies out, but rather a message to both his master and all other sith that if you plan to backstab someone, you better damn well make sure that they're brain dead and have no pulse.

@@ariald869 what do you mean? It would only be for the Warrior story class, I would imagine the side for the warrior could be switched from Imperial to Republic. Indeed the character could simply be referred to as a Jedi in non-class stories (npcs in non-class usually don’t refer to class anyway (there are exceptions but like I said it must be possible to work around this)).

@@ariald869 I am surprised it would not be possible considering you used to pick your starting class and then chose your specialisation between the two when you reached level 10 (pretty sure it was level 10), and you choose and can change your alignment (light or dark) so surely the mechanic is there. I am not saying it wouldn’t be a pain in the arse to facilitate but I imagine it would still be possible. As to everyone wanting to change, each class has different storylines with different opportunities and restrictions. Before I say anymore have you played warrior and other classes as I don’t want to spoil any storylines.

@@joebloggs7514 i have played every class story and i am aware of the example of the imperial agent joining the SIS, which did (Spoilers) become irrelevant after Shadow of Revan anyway and technically you still do everything for the empire with no change in faction except the little story bits and (Spoilers Iokath) the possibilities to betray your faction on Iokath, which is totally independent from former story choices and can be done by any class. the gameplay and official faction never changes though

@@Velisatra One of the first class story mission of the Sith warrior on Dromund Kaas has them going to a local spaceport to retrive a captured Republic agent on the command of their master, Darth Baras. Once they get there, they are ambushed by two different groups of hired thugs (which are heavily implied to be on other Sith's payroll) who want to spirit away the prisoner for their respective employer. The choices available go as follow: 1) The dark side option is about killing them all 2) The neutral option is about tricking them, either by making them fight each other to the death or convincing them the warrior is a cannibal, which makes them afraid enough to leave without a fight The latter option specifically has the warrior screaming "I'M GOING TO KILL YOU AND EAT YOU ALL RAW!" at the top of their lungs, followed by "... AND THEN PICK MY TEETH WITH YOUR BONES!". For extra fun (or horror, depending on your point of view), you can then clarify to the Imperial personnel assigned to you that the above was no bluff, if you catch my drift.

The Dromund Kass thing was deception to you? I was dead serious lol

most of my characters have a running theme of being cannibals in any game that allows me too so it wouldnt be a bluff for my character tho i played a full dark side sith that did every dark option

@@Mediados Agreed. I was disappointed that turning her dooms her to being just another stereotypical hedonistic savage type of sith. Would have been cool if we could influence her personality more. Would have made more sense too, being an *apprentice* after all.

Because if they did that, they'd have to transfer the old Sith-character to the Republic server, and the former Sith would enter the Jedi Guardian's plot midstory. Confusing to say the least.

I think you can just about get away with a Jedi going dark but not joining the Sith if the very reasons he went dark were to destroy the Sith, if he became consumed with war and retribution. You'd still need some kind of acknowledgement that the character isn't really a Jedi anymore (I believe one of the Jedi stories does have you been refused the rank of Jedi Master if you do go too dark so at least that's something). It would be interesting to have a story branch where a Jedi could become a Sith though. A Sith going to the light definitely couldn't stay with the Sith Empire. The very idea of the Sith Empire is steeped in the Dark Side so if a Sith finds redemption they should immediately renounce the Empire and fight against it so a redemption story branch would have been cool. To do things like that though it would mean doubling up on the amount of story content. A redeemed Sith would have no interest in being the Emperor's Wrath and would thus need a completely new story. The two Jedi branches and two Sith branches would need alternate stories and if you're going to have alternate paths for them then it would make sense to have them for the bounty hunter, smuggler, agent and soldier too. That's a lot of content and it's probably not feasible.

@@jedsithor I get why they didn't do it due to the additional stories and the release date, but I'm surprised they didn't think about adding it in afterwards as it certainly would have added to the replay value since you could keep your original Jedi Knight and Sith Warrior in sort of a time bubble then create a new on to explore both the options you didn't choose and to see the character eventually switch sides as who wouldn't love to hear Satele Shan talking about how the Republic's greatest hero had now become it's deadliest enemy. Also when you take into account the encounter the Sith Warrior has in the cave with the opposite and how it talks about being what you could become if you fully embraced that side of the Force, it just adds to the feeling of a missed opportunity which could have been addressed in a update.

@@TimedRevolver Doesn't really apply to Jaesa that much though. The only ones who betray her at all are possibly her parents (not even sure this counts since she's glad you let them live) and Nomen Karr for shattering her expectations of the Jedi. Neither of these even seem to affect her after she focuses on either light or dark. Your options are emotive as cardboard, or narcissistic, hedonistic, evil zealot. This has little to do with betrayal and everything to do with them dropping the bag. Not to mention they made her light side way better on her return. She actually has emotions now. They made a mistake, but they finally corrected it.

@@fjkly Being disillusioned does terrible things to you as a person. Her return being better was likely, in-canon, a result of her finally moving past that trauma she went through.

@@TimedRevolver It can, but like I said there's nothing to suggest it affects her at all. If anything it's outright ignored. As for her return she claims she's been just trying to survive in a world where she can't fit in, a world without the player. Her trauma at the time is certainly concerning you, not disillusionment.

@@herrscherofisaf5592 You can't. The only way to walk out of this encounter peacefully with Light Side Jaesa is by tricking Baras's pawn into thinking you're there to help her kill the Jedi.

@Nathan Bernacki true. Miraluka are know for using force sight. Though they mostly only see 4 main colors. White for unaligned people/ creatures, blue for light side people/ creatures, red for dark side people and creatures, and grey for everything else.

yeah being able to flip would be cool, closest you can get to that is imperial agent class story and then the saboteur routes for some of the expansions

Prefer the idea that just as there are toxic aspects of the Jedi code, there are positive aspects of the Sith code, and a Light Side Sith Warrior is primarily embodying those. Sort of a Grey Sith opposite the Grey Jedi.

Sith inquisitor gains more power out of necessity because they are being hunted down by a dark council memeber

Not quite true. Like any good reformation, one is expected to atone for their wrong doings when they join the Jedi.

You are railroaded into working for one faction or the other for a sizable portion of the game, sadly. At certain opportunities you can also work against the faction you are working for, but largely you are forced to be loyal and will, as a Sith have to kill countless Jedi and vice versa.

Can do that in the expansion pack

You can be a sabateuer but can't change sides mechanically. You can also use opposite faction combat style.

That's pretty much all the dark side choices you make though...

@@99thJediWarrior Just my impression when first starting a Sith Warrior character, all DS choices were 'murdur, murdur, mwuahhh evil murdur'. That made me take the LS choices and I often found them to be really surprising or clever. It's not the LS options like those on a jedi character either which are sometimes 'well, I defeated a mass murderer but I am a good jedi so they can walk free to kill more innocents because I must not kill'. Definitely recommend playing a LS Sith Warrior! :)
