Regarding the sock blocking, I only block those which shrink in the wash....so if it's all wool and I've tossed it in the wash, I'll block to bring it back to size. I don't bother if I hand wash it or if it's got nylon regardless of washing method. Shawls I do block the daylights out of, but it doesn't rain half as much here as in the UK so they don't shrink up much. Sweaters I just pat to shape, and to be perfectly honest, I don't really wear mittens and my kids get the heavy duty waterproof ski mittens because otherwise they'd be a soggy mess in minutes. We have a few pretty mittens, but they rarely need a wash.

I gave up on mitten knitting since it's been so hot where I am right now but your club is giving me a boost! It might encourage me to finish the Year Long Mittalong. I love that you are giving us some options for yarn weight. It's hard for me to find fingering weight yarn suitable for mitts. So thanks!

I have made many selbu mittens before, but aran weight mittens ... 😍 i HAD to buy the pattern! Bought it yesterday and the left mitten is ready and blocked👌 already!

Best wishes with the patterns! Of course I love the bee bag! haha Tee shirts are easy to alter, especially if you have an over locker. (One quick fix for a Tee shirt, turn it inside out and sew a new side seam, each side, from hem to outer edge of sleeve.)

okay, I know this episode is old at this point but your thoughts about black metal make me think of my son. If you're familiar with Forest Gump, my son is much like Bubba. He will go on and on about all the different types of metal, black metal, death metal. He will break it down into tons of sub genres, and on and on it goes.

I love that beautiful burgundy yarn and the Alice bag. Funny enough I bought a single pattern from last years mitten club to knit for a Christmas gift earlier this morning and when you mentioned the club I paused and went and bought it too. That's my Christmas knits sorted ! It will make a change from socks for my knitworthy friends (thankfully they are a small select group ) .

Hi Eli! I’m also modifying the gauge of the Tegna, and about to start separating for sleeves! I’m curious about how to account for row gauge here? The pattern specifies a specific length to knit, so shouldn’t we just need to pick up enough stitches to accommodate that circumference (# of stitches would depend on stitch gauge)? Thanks for the help :)

I'll admit I've not read that far ahead in the pattern yet (just started a different project...), but I think I will knit the armholes a bit longer than suggested and then deal with the sleeves when I get there. Hoping to make the sleeves a bit wider than the pattern suggests.
