@@sketchtosea3750 I know you are crazy busy with sea trials and moving onto the boat, but when things settle down I would love a video about your communication and internet connectivity. I know a lot of yachts are moving away from Hughes other dome type systems and towards Starlink Marine combined with Peplink with multiple SIM cards for near shore connectivity. Curious about your choices and how well they work. I figure you will need to stay connected while on the boat.

Sounds like a great idea for a video. As we are currently in China, we cannot import a starlink. When I recently left the US to come here i grabbed our mounting kit for it, and the actual transmitter is in our container which we will meet soon. For now we have KVH 7 and inmarsat C. While in coastal waters we are using sim cards.

For now it will be pretty casual as we make our way to the Phillipines, and then eventually the INdian Ocean and then on to the med.

Yes, it was under construction and one of the main reasons we had to have the yacht in the shipping channel in china for so long. I am not sure what they will do in the future when they build anything bigger than a 66.

Thank you for the questions. Hot tub is drained when underway. We have 2 Shenker modular 230 water makers onboard. They make 230L or 61 Gallons per hour.We do have forward looking sonar, and we do have a FLIR.

They have been used to measure the waterline at different phases. We still have some adjusting to do but can only do it when the vessel is fully loaded. Then they will come off.

Both, we have. a permanent full time crew, but the yacht is pretty easy to operate as an owner. the crew is more for the ongoing maintenance.

Yes, good questions. The chart plotters are 24" and we have 7 cameras around the boat for a few different reasons. Maneuvering would be one of them.

It is that loud when we have the fans set to full blast. We have also not finalized the grill design which is making some of the noise We only do this when we have all the windows open. It is currently super hot here. The rest of the boat is much more quiet as we can set the fans to auto so the ramp up and down depending on demand.

It is a fantastic boat. He's seems a sharp guy and has thought out a lot during the build process. It will be interesting how the boat performs during the sea trials as many things will come to light, it being a new build for that model. I would suspect he paid anywhere from $9-10 million depending on what discounts were negotiated for new build and any yacht show commitments.

Thanks. My cruising grounds are going to be the south of Portugal in the summer and the Caribbean islands (French Islands) in the winter. I will be building everything from scratch including the plywood. It will used for day and night charting and as my primary home. It will be wood epoxy construction. Total cost of project including everything will be about 350k to 400k. It will be electric with at least 250kw of lithium and 14kw of solar. It will have my own custom designed dc generator producing 42kw of power at 58v. I’m almost finishing the design. It will have a lot of components designed by me including the open source digital switching system. Going with open source due to keeping the costs down. If all goes well construction will start next year. I am also thinking of opening up a channel and documenting the whole process on RU-vid as well.

It is manageable by an owner couple. The reason for crew is to keep up with the maintenance and when we want to to not have a watch.

We have a captain and crew. We are capable of sailing it ourselves, it is just a lot to manage.
