Sea trials are continuing for HH8801 and we are testing new systems every day. In this video I take you through the process of launching and retrieving our tender and jet ski. A lot of engineering went into this process and we are pretty happy with the result.

Make sure your tender is tilted properly to drain. Fill it with garden hose and see what happens. Remember it must drain in a down pour. Put red sign by davit winch buttons, "insert/remove drain plug". Also keep wash down attachments for each vessel handy there.

I agree with all of these suggestion and we have already planned to do that, thank you for the comment.

I own the same jet ski as well as a SeaDoo. If it were me in constant salt water environments I personally would opt for the closed loop cooling of the SeaDoo to help mitigate salt water corrosion. Personal preference however, they are both great skis. Beautiful boat, enjoying your content!

Thank you for the comment. We have built in wash out stations at the back for this reason. I have had SeaDoos in the past and have always found them very difficult to work in the engine.

Very nice boat. First, I'm not a marine engineer but I am curious. To each their own but I don't understand the attraction of a single, huge 'jet-ski', especially when there is a large tender beneath. When jet-skis become larger than a '1+' there isn't any fun left for anyone vs. the fun that can be had by a couple smaller '1+' 'skis. Also, FWIW, I'd be more interested in that size tender with an inboard jet pump vs. an outboard. A big o-board engine, yanking up and down on its transom mount, while dangling from davits, creates constant stress on the transom and its mounts. A jet driven tender eliminates those transom stresses, in-use and underway, and gets you into more shallow areas with less noise and concern. Look at that thing... the outboard is using up what, 25% of the tender's length, vs. a narrow portion amidship?
@tunamaniak
@tunamaniak 10 месяцев назад
Regarding the tender you be surprised how much more weight an inboard engine and jet drive adds to the tender concept.
@sketchtosea3750

There are a few items that we considered when choosing the tenders. With regards to the jet ski, we only had room to store 1, and the way that we have used our skis in the past is more as a personal small boat. We also have the "raft" for the ski as well. We usually strap coolers or dive gear to when we want to go off by ourselves. It also is a bit more stable than a smaller ski. With regards to the tender, the other viewers comments are valid. We had a very hard time finding a tender with the capacity to fit the whole boats guests. Also the reason for the outboard specifically is when we need to change the engine in the future, we also receive brand new transmission at the same time.

I feel the need . . . the need for speed. Couple of fun toys you have there. We'd definitely have to have two wave runners because after scaring my wife to death when she rode with me, she said never again. 😂 Fly Navy.

You have done an amazing and thorough job spec'ing out this yacht. In this video i noticed the struggle disconnecting the tender shackles. Do you have quick release shackles?

Hi. I just found your channel and sub'd'. Question. How do you secure teh jet ski. Just sitting on the davit doesn't seem secure in rough weather

Good question. We have D rings on the davits and use dyneema lashings to secure the jet ski.

I’ve just found your channel and have subscribed but am watching videos out of order. On top of that, I am not familiar with sailing. I understand this gorgeous vessel is to be your knew home, here is my newbie question…. I see you have captain and crew quarters and also the launching of the tender and sea doo look like 2 people jobs. Will you require a crew to sail this vessel? If too personal I apologize and disregard.
@sketchtosea3750
@sketchtosea3750 9 месяцев назад
Yes, they are 2 people jobs, and we do have a full crew of 4 people not including ourselves. Both of us really enjoy doing this type of work.

Interesting, so if the tender is away for a while, how will the waiting people deploy or retrieve the wave runner for their break time? I am curious how you would launch or recover the tender in either stronger tide-currents or even while underway? [Like man overboard or Movie style getaway]. At first I thought you'd want two jet skis. But then I saw the tender's helm sticks up. Still, a 2nd smaller single ski could have a special mount. Maybe cut the height of the helm unit or fold it? 😮😂😅
@sketchtosea3750
@sketchtosea3750 10 месяцев назад
Thank you for the comment. It was part of the design brief to be able to launch the 2 independently. The helm of the tender does stick up and we had to plan how to have both these items on the davits. We originally wanted a platform, but there again was no way to have both these items on it.
