Thank you Dr. Dray ! I appreciate as a social worker you discussing how the heat affects those who take certain psychotropic medications. Here in New York, I have been ready since March. Thanks to you ---I am stocked up on sunscreen, sun -glasses, UPF 50 gloves and baseball caps. Last year, I even purchased some long sleeve polo shirts from Coolibar ( Great, comfortable material) Have a great day !

My main issues are the even though my skin is protected with sunscreen (SPF 70+ reapplied religiously), my Melasma and Rosacea act up so much from the heat alone.

My face itches so so much because of sweating. And it gets raw just from dabbing off the sweat. I can't even rub in the skincare in summers. Only max 2-3 products only dabbing. Anything more and skin will irritate even by the serums etc. 😢😢😢😢

@@bandana_rathore Is it possible you are allergic to the dimethicone, which is priming you to itch when sweaty? It’s in loads of serums, moisturizers, sunscreens and hair products. I am sensitive to it and will break out if there’s too much of it in a product.

Thanks for all the great tips. Mid way through the video you mentioned using an anti dandruff shampoo with zinc to deal with folliculitis. BEWARE: Head & Shoulders w/ pyrithione zinc contains Methylisothiazolinone. This chemical is often problematic to people, like myself with sensitive skin and can cause severe rashes. I used to use this product to deal with scalp folliculitis, but the shampoo made the issue worse because of this chemical. It wasn't until I did skin testing at my Derm that I realized I am extremely allergic to this chemical.

@@MuslimahInSolace It could be Methylisothiazolinone. To find out you would have to be tested by a Derm. Regardless, probably best to avoid harsh chemicals and stick with shampoo that has natural ingredients for more sensitive skin.

Dr Dray aren’t you in Houston where it is very hot and humid right now? Thanks so much for the details because the heat is very strong right now where I live as well. I hope you are doing ok and as always I’m very grateful for your videos. Is it true that there are sunscreen products that are more effective in Europe than the ones we have in the USA? Also the prickly heat can cause people to erroneously take antihistamines and could they also contribute to drug related heat intolerance? Also can scar tissue on the skin prevent sweating?

Currently Im trying to use lotion (gold bond diabetics), with cotton gloves. And the nitrile over all that. So far, it's working all right, but i am still fighting patches of contact dermatitis where the cotton rolls down and the gloves rub the skin. Usually subsides mid summer, but spring & early summer breakouts annually occur. Live in Iowa where winters are cold & summers hot!

I had a job where the AC would invariably die for July and August yearly. It was so hot that I would not even pee no matter how much water I drank. Also, the fan that dried the sweat just made things worse because it was like a false sense of coolness because it was drying the sweat, but the other damages were still building up that whole time. I would get blinding headaches and would have leg cramping all night. Also, every day that followed, the exhaustion would start earlier and be worse, like the body never had time to improve tolerance because each day you were in there being exposed. It was scary how badly my body was messed up from that abuse.

Thank you so much for this video! 💙 I live in Dominican Republic where it's hot and humid year round So, I tried Googling if malasezzia (spelling?) is contagious after you showed images of it. It made me realize that my boyfriend has it, although it's only noticeable when he comes back from the barber (it's in the "5 o'clock shadow area). He is dark skinned, but the affected area(s) are very light Googling it hasn't clarified if it is contagious by skin to skin contact (kissing, snuggling, oral sex, etc) Do you think it's a cause for concern? 😬

So . . since it will be about 108 F or so inside the plane at take off, and even though we will open the door at 1,000 ft and keep it open until exit altitude at about 13,000 ft, I doubt these are times when skydiving would appeal to you. But, come autumn, Dr Dray, you gotta come out and exit . . you know you want to! Your fav AFFI, Allan

I have a question can adult spf be used for kids / toddlers and vise versa? In the UK we have a company called 'Childs Farm' and I use the SPF but hate the texture it is so greasy and thick. Not an issue for the child but for me acne prone and super oily it is horrid.

Derms and pediaticians have said kids of six months and up can use adult sunscreens and Dr Dray and other derms have said adults can use kids skincare products including sunscreens.

So my daughter has seborrheic dermatitis and she gets a patch on her butt cheek and redness around her nose and eyes. She was on vitamin d3 and the rash went away, she got off d3 and it came back, I believe from what I have seen with my daughter, that d3 can help because of its anti inflammatory properties, it helps with immune. Anyone else have this experience; does science back this up?

I feel so much better when im near the sun. My skin hates winter time, its really difficult to deal with it, it starts to produce more oil on cold weather. No idea why this happens.

I can't stand ACs or fans on me. I love it when it's hot and I love to workout then. I sweat like crazy, drink plenty of electrolyte water and getting great workouts.

Is there an anti dandruff shampoo you recommend with those three ingredients for body wash? I can only find OTC with one of those ingredients and not all three
@db-gb5xi
@db-gb5xi Месяц назад
Something with all three would probably be prescription only and/or expensive. There are salicylic body washes.

Question, I recently found a sunblock that reportedly provides blockage for 8 hours by the brand SolRX... would you review this and confirm or deny if it really lasts 8 hours.

No sunscreen can stay stable in sun exposure for that long. It will be a miracle. Esp if skin sweats in between.

She recently did a Costco video where she reccomended these HangTen (brand) long sleeve upf shirts. Also in the past she has reccomended ColiBar and Solbari.

Pure cotton or lawn cotton or egyptian cotton clothes are very good in summers. Sleeves should be a little loose for air circulation.
