If you equip your waterwalking boots while underwater, you'll immediately appear on the surface no matter how deep you were. Makes for a great shortcut.
I use the boots and waterbreathing potions to explore the various shipwrecks. Just stroll out till I am over them, drink potion, unequip boots, dive, explore, re-equip boots. Makes me wish for Dwemer diving gear. Lol
Etienne saying that he’s seen you in the guild is just a part of the immersion of the game. From a real life perspective, there’s no way the Thieves Guild consists solely of the 10 or so members you meet in the Flagon. This applies for every other guild or group you join as well. Who are the random Dark Brotherhood assassins that try to kill you in random encounters? This is also more or less proven when you get the thief random encounter, where after the thief tells you to hand everything over you can respond with “don’t you recognize a fellow guild member?” The thief will then respond with something like, “oh yeah, I’ve seen you around the Flagon” and give you some lockpicks or something. It’s the same story with the civil war quests, where a squad of 20 enemy soldiers can take Whiterun.
Yeah this was my thought. Just because you don't see/speak to every guild member doesn't mean they weren't about when you were and saw you from a distance. Then maybe the dude just has a good memory to realise he's seen you before.
That works for generic NPCs but NOT named characters. NAMED people are important, they are people note worthy and who catch your eye. This would be like if Samus went to a bar to get a drink, then later on in the game Samus is confused Ridley knew where she was going... "I saw you at the bar." It is just poor story telling and not applying effort. Like the thief random encounter works just fine because they are "Thief", not someone who has a name and we should know.
@@Eagle-ds9xw I imagine stumbling around in a stupor after being tortured, probably with lack of sleep and not having eaten in days will do that to you.
Fun fact that y’all may have missed; If you have the dragonborn DLC, go to solstheim and swim as far as you can towards the Red Mountain. You can hear the volcano erupting. Also, if you get a mod that disables the borders, you can actually climb Red Mountain, and even jump in the crater. Makes for some pretty cool screenshots.
Hey guys, how's it going it's nate here, and skyrim is certainly a humongous game, full of dragons to slay, city's to save and guilds to master. But after 35 years, people are starting to run out of things to do. Luckily, today we have a few things that YOU may not have known you could do. So we have today's top 5 things you didn't know you could do in the elder scrolls 5 skyrim, part 395
> hey should i play skyrim > eh no its 1:04 am im just gonna watch yt and go sleep > opens youtube > epicnate uploaded new 5 skyrim detail video > okay i guess im playing skyrim after this worth
Back in Oblivion I would combine water walking with fire resistance to traverse the lava in the Oblivion gates. It made getting the Sigil stones a lot quicker.
Thanks for doing these videos. Whether I'm inspired by the content of them or just reminded how much I love Skyrim after watching them, if I'm bored with Skyrim and haven't played for a few months I inevitably start a new playthrough after another of these.
Don't know if this is a secret or not, or even if you've done it before, but if you don't go to the Pelagius farm at the beginning of the game (the first time you meet Aela, Farkas, and Ria of the Companions) and get the 'talk to the leader of the companions ' objective from Jon Battle-Born or Hulda (the lady who owns the Bannered Mare), when giving Aela her shield (and when Farkas shows you where the beds are) Aela, Farkas, and Skjor will have slightly different dialogue because they've never seen or heard of you before.
When choosing between the three hooded figures for Astrid, if you really are guilt stricken, want to get it right, or see what Bethesda think you should choose; you can try using the Clarvoyence spell. The spells shows you a path to complete current quest marker. It will create a path to one of the three victims. I think it is the middle female prisoner.
Use whirlwind sprint while holding a bowl on Esbern's door to force your Dragonborn through the door; before Esbern is unlocking the door. This will give you a perspective of seeing Esbern unlocking the door. This also gives you time to pre-search Esbern's room.
I remember when I first started the brotherhood quest and was given the choice of killing one of those three. I was planning to kill the woman because of her threat, until I heard what Vasha said. As soon as he opened his mouth and said that, I mentally noted, "each time I'm given this chance, I shall kill him each time"
Yknow it's funny you mention the unique dialogue with Astrid in the cabin, because I discovered that on my very first playthrough of the game... and have done that in every subsequent playthrough that didn't involve destroying them.
1:50 there is another thing about the guy. Delphine tells you a secret phrase to repeat to Esbern. You can just simply tell Esbern you're the Dragonborn, and he'll let you in. You don't need to tell him the secret phrase.
You all will probably think me weird but I'd like to see a video montage of all the exclamations uttered by npcs when you murder them to death. This is a constant source of amusement to me.
I've freed this guy several times already and always figured he would just disappear. Cool to know he does not. Comes from having different characters for main and certain side lines all the time.
Fun fact! If you kill Astrid, she says "good job" as her final words, meaning she was the one with the contract the whole time. I now do this every time I play haha
I have watched all of the videos, up to this one, which I am starting now and all I can say is thanks!!! Some of the advice have given me a lot LESS Irritation. Example....that Necromancer, I have already forgotten his name.....Arondil. It was wonderful watching that one ghost kill him. I then killed the ghost. It was a wonderful change to the hardship of killing some of these, I guess you call them mini bosses. Thanks again for the videos. I can't seem to find the Giant's club, so Lydia can use it.
Wow,the one with Astrid is the only one so far which I knew. Honestly, that seemed like a more obvious option than killing Astrid and getting the Destroy the Dark Brotherhood quest.
I don't know how I did it, or if it was a glitch, but I got to Blackreach, and it was typically dark and gloomy. I entered one of the small buildings there looking for Crimson Nirnroot, and when I came out, the entirety of Blackreach was brightly lit all the way until I left.
watching the sky in Apocrypha one can see a magnetic storm taking place. Moreover the black liquid looks terribly like a ferro fluid and how it behaves under a magnetic field. Food for thought
Not sure if you've covered this or not but if you go to Nightgate Inn and take a look at Fultheim, the only other person in the inn other than the innkeeper and the orc, he seems to be carrying a katana like blade similar to The Blades. A glitch maybe?
I know this video is really old. However I’ve been binging your Skyrim content and haven’t heard you mention the automatic waterwalking effect while in vampire lord form.
Went down in the sewers a lot, there’s a farmer that wants his bow giving you a reason to go down there. Once you’re down there, may as well see the rest of the sewers. Doesn’t everyone kill all three targets? An early episode of Skyrim For Pimps did that too. I tend to kill them (after Astrid) if I destroy the Dark Brotherhood, just because of loose ends 🤣 I found those boots once, forgot where I found them. Just because the thief saw you doesn’t mean you saw him
You can also kill Astrid in the shack speak to a guard and start the quest destroy the dark brotherhood where you go to the falkreath sanctuary and slay everyone though this obviously ends the DB quest line it gives you the gold you would get after everything is said and done in the questline
Astrid was the correct person to kill for that quest. If you kill her, her last words are "well done...." if you don't want to jam with the Dark Brotherhood
ive walked around skyrim with arngeir from high hrothgar. he's pretty good at helping u kill stuff. no cheats. no mods. did this on plain vanilla skyrim.
Ohhhh lol I didn't know that dude I've been bothering in the ratway warrens had a larger purpose. I just thought he was a fun oddity, because while I annoy tf out of him at least he doesn't attack me
I used Esberns door to grind destruction. He cant die, and doesnt turn hostile do him rsetting everytime you press a to open the door. (I spam a while holding A down with the flames spell.)
when you are finding your way to the ragged flagon or even finding the ghost that haunts Ratway you will find esbern anyway, Nate I love you but have you ever played the game thoroughly?
First play through skyrim I played a murderous, thieving Khajit, killed all the people in the Astrid thing. God it felt good to have that affirmation from a walking pixel bunch.
You know what I've thought about the situation with Astrid in the cabin? What if SHE was the one that had a contract on her head? It makes the whole questline kinda sad in a way because Spoilers I guess for those that haven't played the questline yet she ends up dying anyway
If you kill Astrid in that shed, instead of the three prisoners, she says something like "Well done". Now of course everyone knows you do this to start the questline to destroy the Brotherhood, but why those words? Is it possible one of those three prisoners - or maybe all three of them - tried to get Astrid killed in some way?
I chose to Kill Astrid and start the 'destroy the dark brotherhood' questline. I thought I'd try to kill her instead of the other three. I could have gone back to an earlier save if I'd not levelled up enough.
At the time it was a question of morality, The questline started because I one-punched grelod (She was asking for it), I wasn't expecting her to die from it.
what if you used the Platter to escape the shack, i should try it out, also what if you attack the dragons on the Throat of the World after defeating Alduin, what happens im curious
