I always do the maze before I go fight Morokei. It just makes the becoming the Arch Mage thing feel a lil more... deserved. What they should have done is left the key to go fight Morokei inside the maze. Could have been in a journal Savos kept in his study, "After all this time I still can't get over what befell my fellow mages. To be sure that HE never gets out I shall hide it in Shalidor's Maze."... you know something like that... if I ever make a mod that's one I'll try to do.

Yea they definitely needed to spice up that quest line, pretty weak. I mean, you go from student to arch mage so quickly you'll blink and miss the whole journey. If not for tolfdir and saarthal you wouldn't even need to use any magic

This is absolutely unbelievable! I have played this game now for almost 800 hours over the course of years and have actually never found this place. I wonder how many undiscovered gems are still lingering there. Skyrim is apparently just infinite.

That location gives you a shout and an unique item. So when you think you did everything in the game, check unique items list and shout list to see what is missing if that's the case.

When I found this maze, I actually didn't know how to open the spikes so I climb up from where he viewed the maze from above then used the shout where a wind pushes me fast forward. It brought me in the middle of the maze and skipped all the walking and fighting but I didn't know what to do next

It is not even a quest, it is some sort of hidden stuff. But if you check the list of shouts and the list of unique items you will see that something is missing and where you find it. You can do that at the end of the game when you think you did everything in the game.

Dremora Valkynaz is not a name. If you've played the previous Elder Scroll game, Oblivion, you will have come across Dremora a lot more than in Skyrim. They have a sort of rank system in place, with the rank being displayed as their "name". In Oblivion, there were, for example, the ranks of "Dremora Scourge", "Caitiff", "Kynreeve", "Kynmarcher", "Markynaz" and "Valkynaz" I think in that order. So Valkynaz are the highest ranking of the Dremora, nothing else

So long ago, don't even think you play the game anymore but a nice hint if you miss killing all the dremora bastards is installing the "Immersive Creatures" mod, it adds all kinds of dremora to random encounters around the world.

I can't believe how much of skyrim I've done and haven't been here. Great video! Thanks. By the way, at the end where you run around the top to get the leveled shield and mace, about opposite where that alcove is there's another little alcove with a chest in it (it's the last little alcove before you run up and over the big wooden arch).

For the restoration sigil you're supposed to use a Turn Undead spell just like the staff does, if you want it to work. If you don't then by all means try to heal the stone.

I was in that maze when I was quite a new player. There was a glitch where I fell into the bottom of the Skyrim map (I could see the while maze from underneath) and I couldn't fast travel for some reason. I hadn't done a save in ages so when I re-loaded to get out of the glitch I was miles away from the maze and never found my way back to it, haha :D

Valkynaz isn't a name, its a dremora Rank/description. he's simply a leveled character. if you were a lower level that wouldn't be a dremora but instead it would be an OP Drauger. he is in the leveld list and can be summoned by the sanguine staff

It would have been so much cooler if it was an actual maze. That is the biggest problem I have with this game. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but the puzzles are always so lame

Maybe maze isn't a good name for it. Perhaps labyrinth is a better description because you are right... it's not a maze... it's a puzzle.

Christopher Teale the puzzles in the game, in the crypts arnt supposed to be hard, theyre designed to keep the undead draugs trapped inside, not to keep adventurers out

Albert Fitzgerald I've had to break myself away from it because I can never sell it all and I have so much stuffed stored in my chests at my base that it slows the game down. I have so much money that it doesn't matter, but I still impulsively pick up stuff.

I’m so guilty of that. “Why am I over-encumbered? I only have 1 set of armor, a bow, and a sword shield combo? Oooohhh, it’s just the 1,000 stamina and health potions that I’m sure I needed, and about 50 magika potions even though I’m doing a one handed playthrough.”

After you play for a while and you learn the shit we know you realise most of that is useless junk that just weighs you down. If you are haveing to pack a whole dungeon back home you probably dont know how to play well lol
