@@mill2712 Sonic is very rich with all of those valuable gold rings he can surely pay it and it still would be less than 000.1% of all of his money put into repairing that building
@@Hugo-yz1vbExcept the fact that the value of a gold ring would be low because you can literally just find gold rings lying around anywhere... Or floating around I guess.
@@alle167 I mean it could be possible but with how long Sonic has been collecting them I think his riches and bitches surpass all logic and economics at this point
I'm usually an advocate of the idea that Sonic is meant to run around fantasy worlds that could never exist in our reality, but one of the most pleasing aspects of this game to me is the accuracy of the stages when compared to real world locations. Well the music, architecture, and landmarks, anyway. There obviously aren't rings and speed pads lying around in New York
@@Vitor20XX have been listening through the soundtracks recently and I can hear it in the background in the beginning and through the rest of the song for sure! So glad you picked it up too
@@EpicCorn0 Someone from New York City too, and I would say No. Sonic going at the playing speed on the Brooklyn Bridge, he'd be on the other side in about 7-10 seconds. Skyscraper Scamper's bridge I would say is longer.
@@connorcoco2152 It’d still be a quick run in Unleashed speed, the Brooklyn Bridge ain’t that lengthy. Sonic would be on the Manhattan side in nearly several seconds realistically anyway. Especially boosting, regular running would take him just a tad bit longer
DerpyPikachu yeah it's that bouncy tech sound that happens in the songs of riders. Man riders and unleashed are really cool but unleashed man... It has to be one of my favourite sonic game ever
@@LilXancheX I just said it hit hard didn't ever say it was the best part of the ost that would be the entire track but you think what you want to buddy👍 (oh yeah and I'm not deaf fyi)
This was my favorite stage in the game. It was challenging, but a fun and fair kind of challenging. I've also been a fan of downtown aesthetics for years, and it's one of the less linear stages. I'm also American, so I feel right at home.
People always say about Jungle Joyride (Day) but Skyscraper Scamper will always be the best for me. From the first Jazz notes to the last. I always shake my head listening to this techno.
This term is very oversaturated now a days but I just have to use it here, this song is EXTREMELY underrated! Literally one of my favorite day time themes but it's overshadowed by rooftop run, cool edge and of course windmill isle. This sounds like a Sonic Riders song which is honestly perfect! I love how laid back everything is outside of the trumpets and sax's. It really feels like you're running on the side of buildings above the clouds. Almost like you're losing oxygen from the altitude but still going fast
0:37 This part was executed waaayy too damn well, it says soooo much about the need for speed. You can put some lyrics over that part about super Sonic speeds 🔥🔥🔥
I imagine it goes like "Sonic goes at super speeds, so that he can help when you're in need! He will always save the day, if he can't he'll find another way! He's the fastest in the land, the Werehog's cool, but Eggman's bland! Using the temples to beat Dark Gaia, Cuz Dark is less safer than fire! Chip still has amnesia, that makes it less easia'! Stairs in Shamar are the worst, they're just so bad I COULD JUST BURST! Professer Pickle gives me hints, but the journey so far, I can't find mints! One more stop, it's Adabat, we'll finish Eggman and that's that!
I was amazed enough when I noticed that this level shared its road signs with Crisis City. Then I heard 1:44 . The hints were there, and I never knew. Empire City IS Crisis City, before it was destroyed! Mind blown!
Well, at least in my opinion, the portion of this song from just after 1:45 to about 1:51 bears a pretty strong resemblance to the main buildup of the Crisis City theme, which you can compare here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TKNQEol9OXM.html from about 0:03 to 0:08 As for the road signs…compare: vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/sonic/images/d/d8/Empire_City_Streets.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20100104203948&format=original to: i.imgur.com/K2zTako.jpg The only obvious similarity in these images is the Chao Garden and the "Parking" sign. I was hoping to get a screenshot of the Generations version of Crisis City, which uses more of the Empire City signs if I remember correctly, but all the signs in the Generations level seem to appear in dark shadows where you can't properly read them.
(Speed Highway also uses those signs, but that doesn't support any fun theories...) vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/sonic/images/1/1b/SG_achievement_SPEED_HIGHWAY_Restored%21.png/revision/latest?cb=20160206143045&format=original
oh my god this track is so fucking good, the saxophone is so sexy and i love this part 2:15. it sounds really futuristic yet somber and beatiful, i think its supposed to represent how despite the city being very urban, it has postive effect on the enviroment and plants and organisims can live there idk
@@wanderingshadow1372 Wii version isn't as bad as many make it out to be, the boost physics are different but very fun in their own way. It's a lot more strategic than the 360/PS3 version.
Super late comment but I definitely feel that they capture the atmosphere of the level at 2:16. Plus the sax that plays near the end is a cherry on top for this amazing track. This OST is just on another level I swear.
This is the most amazing song I have ever heard in a long time!!! It's so amazingly perfect to me!!! I can't believe I am geeking out over a Sonic track!
I love the attention to instrument choices in Skyscraper Scamper day tune, especially the synthesizers. After the beat enters, TB303 reflects the Urban music of the actual NY culture fictionalized. Marshall Jefferson comes to mind from the Urban/soul vibes in this track.
Music by Fumie Kumatani Brass Arranged by Masahiro Kobayashi 1st Trumpet: Koji Nishimura 2nd Trumpet: Masahiro Kobayashi Tenor Sax: Yoshinari Takegami Trombone: Kanade Shishiuchi Recorded by Yoshitada Miya at Sega Digital Studio, Tokyo Mixed by Dave Darlington at Bass Hit Recording, NY
This stage has one of the best openings in a Sonic game. Love how the camera is panned from a far while Sonic is speeding down the highway, and sax is going off. Then the moment the camera switches back to normal gameplay, the music starts to shifts into overdrive as Sonic running through the first big loop.
@@orangeslash1667 SEGA has the least tight grip on their IPs, my man. In fact, Konami's grip is way tighter and yet Castlevania has like 3 times as many songs, but that was due to how much the development team likes CV soundtracks, according to Sakurai. In conclusion... Sakurai and his posse are a bunch of haters.
@@ByrneBaby I think there's more to it than that. Remember Sakurai is very bias towards Persona 5, yet we only have 11 songs. At least Sonic can adapt to most stages very well.
0:38 first section with the platforming and all those buildings, 1:26 second section with the interceptor bridge chase 2:17 rail section that leads to the end of the stage
i think that this level´s heat is the kind of challenge boost games should have, i think all 3 colors, generations and especially forces were a step back in that aspect
I feel like every other sonic game pales in comparison to Unleashed’s pure movie like quality. It seriously feels like you’re just playing an action movie with all the great camerawork and sheer speed that’s present in the levels.
You know there is a certain instrument that makes it sound similar to the first sonic rider track with is also a city like map but it's a futuristic one.
