We're checking out The Legend of Slender Man in tonight's spooky spectacular! Will the Slenderman mythos fit into the world of Tamriel? Will anyone notice I'm doing horror mods this late into November?
Apologies for the buzzing in my microphone that starts part ways through the video. It was annoying and I tried my best to reduce the amount in the audio track but it's still present for a short time. It stops shortly after starting.

Fun fact about the screaming deer at 9:20 . That's the location and the deer from the original gameplay trailer. It just stands around and screams until you get it to go away. It's the only deer in the game scripted to do that lmao

Not to be a lorebeard, but the Ideal Masters don't really fit this one-- Namira or Vaermina are better thematic fits than the Ideal Masters. And even then this is _still_ more lore friendly than 80% of the companion mods despite being a Slenderman in Skyrim mod, and the visual design on it is GORGEOUS so I'll forgive it that lore stumble.

At least not 100%, because while the ideal Masters don't have much lore to them outside of what we get from the Dawnguard DLC, I honestly don't think that Slenderman would look for assistance from Nemira or Vaermina. Plus, his realm does fit the soul cairn in similarity, considering many souls and horrors were in his Garden of Shadows.

So I know the "Daddy"/Chains part was frustrating to you but it had very symbolic meaning, essentially it's showing the feeling of inescapableness that is living with an abusive parent. I think the creator did a great job portraying that with the limited resources the Skyrim engine has, this whole mod had great macabre writing of childhood trauma and finding innocence through death, very dark and gothic, I love that sorta writing.

The writing and story of this mod was actually really great and thought provoking and I'm amazed the mod maker managed to make it feel lore accurate at the same time. I think the final battle was supposed to be unwinnable, effectively because Slender Man is created by the fears and darkness in the minds of every parent in Tamriel, which is what the end text talks about. As long as fear exists, he will exist, guiding...and feasting. Genuinely spooky.

I maintain that Slenderman is a cool character, just run into the ground by subpar productions cashing in on the trend. Marble Hornets was genuinely cool even with some spotty acting.

@@jasonfenton8250 For me it was that feckin' unity flashlight radius, the 1 foot ahead visibility, the stupid way you can't see shyat when you run because of aforementioned unity flashlight and 1 foot ahead visibility, and the fact that you move around like you're trying to hike in the woods in a hospital wheelchair instead of able to move at a decent "normal person in the middle of the night who can't see very well" clip. And the avalanche of other games that were just Slenderman but in a bunch of GMod maps.

The Slender Man mythos was so cool. I love the older stuff especially, where he was less of a creepypasta monster and more of a modern cryptid who impaled random people on trees and removed their organs. As popular as the stuff post Marble-Hornets is, I just prefer the older mythos for its simplicity. No child kidnapping or TV static stuff. Just random ppl getting killed by an eldritch cryptid regardless of age.

I love this because its different and something you wouldnt exceot to happen in Skyrim, which makes it that much spookier or scary. I'd love a Skyrim mod concept/game where its different anomalies randomly any place you go, it could be the same old skyrim npc/monster or a brand new one or creepypasta one like this, or just random glitches that throws you off or makes you feel a sense of eerieness or suspense.

Hey, I know this stuff. It's Buddhist philosophy- a bit about suffering of existence, a bit about the mental constructs, a bit about emptiness of all things, about the law of karman- but there's a twist. While the original doctrine preaches nirvana as liberation, this one goes grimdark and associates it with death, like that Arcanum guy. Very well thought.

Hey Micky, I made a small mod last year that adds bigfoot to Skyrim as a random encounter. For Christmas you should do Santanism. It's a hilarious little mod, very fun and absurdist. Fair warning, cheating does break the thing, which always bugged me considering how confusing some parts of it could be, but it's mostly easy to get.
