Put pins from the bottom to the top of the crotch seam at 4 inch (10 cm) intervals, they won't be even your last pin will be 2 inches from the previous one.

Your measurements will be different, but try these and see how you feel about them. Depending on the size of your pants and the size of you they might vary wildly. There are NO hard and fast rules with this, try out whatever measurements you want! That's the beauty of it!

Stitch Type - Zigzag Stitch
Stitch Length - 2.5
Stitch Width - 2
Stitch Tension - 3-5

You can use a universal needle for this, but a ballpoint needle will work better depending on your fabric. And polyester thread is just fine with these! Have fun with your new tailoring addiction!
