Hi Travis , yes like ya show , my fav brands , Scalextric , Carrera , and Scx , they most cars I have , the other brands I have only small number , Fly , SRC , Ninco and that be it so , I love f1 and touring cars , rally bit of everything so , like your show , Awesome
BRM and Revoslot has quickly becomed my two favourite brands the past two years. Fantastic cars that performe very well and at the same time look like scale models, and the metal chassis gives it that little extra feel.
I have to agree totally with GT. BRM and Revoslots have come out of no where for our group and are now amongst our most favourite and preferred cars to run. With nothing more than using NSR tyre treatment on the standard rubber tyres and adjusting the motor in its' cradle for optimum meshing, a good internal bearing oiling and the car's become whisper quiet and oh so fast. They easily challenge the very best from NSR and are even down on the fastest magnet car times on our tracks. Go Revoslot!!!
As ever, a great review Travis. Both Michelle and I have the Revoslot Porsche 911 GT2 "Apple Computer" slot cars, both look fantastic and handle really well straight out of the box. We found that the Revoslot shore 15 tyres don't perform that well on a wooded track but the Shore 22's and 30's are great but ultimately the wider G25 tyres is the best option we found :)
Just taken delivery of a black No5 JPS liveried Supra and a red Ferrari F40. Can't wait to race 'em :). Yep, fantastic models. I think you can tape bar magnets to the metal chassis if you are after more downforce? The gear ratio is simply crown/pinion and so the standard 33/11 = 3. With a more powerful motor and on a twisty track where good acceleration wins out then you may want to up this ratio for more torque. On a fast oval where top line speed is king then we'd 'deffo' (a nice Aussie colloquialism - love 'em ) be in the business of pushing this down into the twos.
Nice Trav. I have a white bodied Toyota GT1 which I have painted Gulf livery. Once set up on my wooden track, copper braid, so non magnet, this car runs similar times to my best Scalextric, Ninco, Slot It cars. Not quite as quick as my NSR Mosler 25k sidewinder. Set up helps a lot with these cars, loosen screws, true tyres a remove that annoying rattle by strategic placement of some tape around the chassis isolaters. Good job Travis.👍
Great video Travis. Gday from Andy in Hong Kong. Watch your videos every week. Great job! The Revoslot office is in Hong Kong where I live. I look forward to a review of the Revo Toyota GT1 Le Mans in the future. A superb car. I am fortunate to have two! No shelf queens here, mine all get raced. Thanks for having a unique channel. 👍👍👍
Mate really appreciate the feedback and thanks for watching my channel. You should do a RU-vid video of the revo headquarters if they would allow it. I will try and get my hands on some more Revoslot for Review.
Haven't seen this video and just watched it. This is my next car 100% . As soon as I saw all the chassis and running gear I had to have it. This brings scale, quality and performance in one package, really appreciate the review.
Revos are nice car's I have 2 at the moment a Supra with the Marlborough livery & a Ferrari 333SP love them both , run them on my home track as non mag Carrera , looking forward to getting the new Mercedes coming out in the D2 livery , good review 👍👏
The car comes with a magnet with double sided tape so you can locate the magnet on the chassis wherever you want to. It also comes with a deeper guide for wood track.
Very detailed review. I have a couple of Revoslot cars myself- Marcos and also a Supra. As my first foray into non Scalextric cars they do take a lot of setting up, and on the small permanent track I have- only 8'x4' there simply isn't the space to really take advantage of the performance which means given the metal chassis tends to make them more tail happy even with magnets. However the quality as you say both in components and detail is excellent, although those same fine details are susceptible to damage and loss, annoyingly last race I lost the front tow hook on the Supra!! I would certainly be interested in adding to my collection, perhaps the new release McLaren F1.
Just took delivery of my first Revo. 911 "Top Drawer". LOVED the Parts list Card. What a concept. "Let's make it easier for people to actually SERVICE Their Cars " we sold them. Love the Hobbie but shakes me head daily ........ BUT ..... save your "Wood Track " guide and instead include Allen Keys for your Non - Standard fasteners, ( There really should be a Standard) . If I spend av $100 Can for a Car, I would rather not have to be going on a Scavenger Hunt on -Line afterwards. Minimum, sell "At Cost" Tool Kits that Fit what your Peddling .......
Was surprised with the China connection with these, although I note the labels on my Revoslot say Hong Kong. Though they were so similar to my BRM and TTS cars , all labelled Italy. Very good cars after a few minor improvements made to gear and axle alignment. I think examining yours should show the refinement of ball bearings on the front and rear axle. The 24th scale Minis, Escorts, Alfas and Fiat Abarths have converted our race group to race 24th scale for many races. All from the BRM and TTS related companies. You might want to check for a chassis nut and bolt that seems to have gone missing.
@@thatslotcarguy I have seen over a hundred or so Revoslot, BRM and TTS cars new in our race group. Never seen screws missing from new, but they can drop off in racing if loose. Our best race setups have them loose so we use Loctite on the nut hole to stop them coming apart once we have got the looseness set right.
Hi Travis! Great review. Curious though. My Esso tiger stripe Supra came with a wood track guide and a magnet with a peel and stick backing. Missing from yours?
G'day mate and thanks for watching. This is a used car which I purchased new sometime ago... I believe I did receive the same but have missed placed it in time.
Are you wanting original for all or are you happy with an aftermarket cardboard box design which stacks perfectly with the 1980's scalextric boxes of that time?
