I see prices are still insane. I have a 2020 Sportsman 212 (the more built for fishing version of that 211 with a fold up back seat rather than the bench) and paid $52k at the AC Boat Show. I'm very fortunate that I bought when I did. One unique feature of the new small Sportsman boats that you missed is they are now equipped with the Seakeeper Ride system automatic trim tabs. They SEEM great but I'll wait until the tech is proven over a few years. Great video as always!

I just ordered a robalo 206 cayman. Feel much better about it after seeing these prices. Too many hurricane boats lurking in cape coral/ ft myers for me to want to buy used.

I’m partial to Grady’s ( cause I have one ) but I wouldn’t buy any of them, out of all of them, I really like that catamaran boat you highlighted in Florida. Now time get back home, the Bass are here, let’s see some action ! Thanks for showing some smaller ( not necessarily affordable ) boats.

Do people not realize that quality fiberglass hulls easily last 30 years or more, just repower something.

Thanks for doing a review on some small boats. I wish there were more videos on "affordable" boats I am currently looking at boats and if I could get that price on the Bulls Bay they had at the show I would jump on it. They are made in the same shop as the Pioneer boats. Quality is much better than Carolina Skiff (Sea Chaser 21LX), and about the same as Tidewater. The Bulls Bay has nicer leaning post and larger center console than a comparable Tidewater Baymax 1910 which is close in price. Hope to pull the trigger on one soon.

Just incase you didn't know pioneer makes the bullsbay boats. It's there economy line of there lower cost boats. I toured them at the pioneer factory. So not the quality as the pioneer but they do stand behind there products. So as an entry level boat I woukd hesitate to buy one.

I absolutely love pioneer boats. After a factory tour I could really see the quality for that range boat. I bought a 180 islander which I loved. I moved up to a 23ft boat but I ended up with a seafox instead of the pioneer ONLY BECAUSE 202fisher didn't have the fretboard hight off the water on the bow that I was looking for. Had it matched the seafox I definitely would of gone with the pioneer.

Enjoyable video. The Grady White is way overpriced. I would take the Seavee at the beginning. I wish you toured that boat.

The problem for me is even if I was wealthy (I’m not), I simply don’t enjoy things if they aren’t a good value. The Grady’s price seems especially ridiculous. Thinking about your Falcon video and my own 23’ New England built Maritime Skiff maybe smaller semi-custom builders are where the good values still live!

Have you looked at any Release boats? I have a 2022 210 CC with a Yamaha 150hp. We love it. Seems to compare well to these options.

Can you get a 13' Boston Whaler for under 37K. I remember when they were $798 with a 33 HP Evinrude at the boat show. I begged my parents to buy me one with no avail. Boat prices are ridiculous. I think some of these manufactures will have to move operations to Mexico to stay in business and get prices back down to were they need to be. Boat building is very labor intensive and Mexico has cheap labor.

My 2021 Adventure 208 was sub $100k with a 200HP, DEC, & Hardtop. I know the 218 is a combination of the seafarer and old adventure but nearly twice the price for a tiny bit more room? 😮

I think you know which boat I like best but, my next Grady White has to be bigger.

John, Size wise I think the 23-25 foot range as a fishing boat is the minimum. These boats are just a bit to small a fit for me. But I'm all about fishing.

hey man hope you are doing good. im looking at a little bay boat like 15-18 ft, have you done any skiff or modified V videos? they may draw more attention since they are a lower cost

Interesting to see you mix in a WA. My CC is in contract and I’m considering a WA because I want to move to Lighthouse Marina (for access to the Peconic vs the GSB) which is 30 minutes from my house and would have use for the cabin. Do you think I would regret moving on from a CC ? 30 minutes is. It hat bad is it ?

Although I can afford to pay cash for all of these boats, I wouldn't choose any of them... I'd go used. New boats are a rip-off!

They make boats to expensive, they are a waste of capital to begin with.
