I've taken a weighed section of wire coat hanger and wrapped it tightly around the shaft of a glue on judo point to customize its weight. A small amount of jb weld prevented noise in my quiver. Held up well.

I've tried recurve, longbow, and a bit of compound. And I gotta say, I like my longbow the best. Even if you like the modern accessories of the compound bow, there are modern longbows that allow you to attach whatever you want on them. And even without that, there are many ways of attaching stuff onto a tradbow. The process of drawing and shooting the arrow is just so much more satisfying on a longbow.

What a blast, stump shooting. Point well taken about the hex head. I just called them blunts. They will go through brush better than anything, but have you ever seen a rabbit shot in the head by one of those things covered over by a rubber blunt. It will simply crush bugs bunny's widdle head. 38 or 357 casings work pretty well.

I use 23/64" Doug fir shafts, and I've found that a .357 magnum pistol cartridge fits perfectly on the 0.36" shaft. I use a softer hot melt glue from a glue gun rather than Bohning Ferr-L-Tite, and I just add a little lead bird shot to get whatever point weight I want. They look really cool too!

Great video. I know I'm 4 years late on my comment but regarding the judo's, they make decent stumpers but can get stuck to where I've had to cut them out with a knife. Also i once placed a bad shot on a grey squirrel with a judo. It hung up in his hide and away he went arrow an all. Never found either one. So I quit using Judo's for small game.

.357 mag case can be poured with a few drops of melted lead to get it to whatever weight you want. It makes a nice tough blunt that will perform as well as those points at a much nicer price point. If you want it to stop the arrow, get a couple of 4 penny finish nails and drill the tip. Push them through, clip them to the desired length and bend it so that it won't come out. Done. Really like your work. Well done.
