What i loved about Zod in this scene is how he switches from being emotional about how Jor El was like a brother to him to admitting that he took great pleasure in beating and torturing him while taunting Clark about not avenging his father's at the same time in a blink of an eye. Fantastic acting from Callum Blue
Warhawkbeyond2040 there were many times when I felt bad for Zod and actually saw that he did genuinely love his people and loved his family that JorEl wouldn’t return to him. Clark obviously distrusted him for good reason he knows the monster he could become but could that have been diverted if he genuinely gave him a chance. If he could’ve just seen it as this is a chance that even Zod could be redeemed but sadly it was not to be
@UThink UCan I watched the show from beginning to end I know it very well but I just didn’t see that in Zod from my perspective, your opinion is your opinion and mine is mine. Also just because someone is narcissistic, manipulative, and deceitful doesn’t make them irredeemable. To me I think there were times Zod genuinely felt betrayed by those around him but at some point it became too late to reverse the flow of events that were to come
I know that would be awesome to see Bruce like that. Could you imagine the shock on his face if he went to such a world only to discover that some of it's heroes were Kara, Bizaro, Metallo, Major Zod and the Kandorians, Davis Bloome and Brainiac oh he would be guilt tripping himself till the end of time.
I agree :) Maybe even someone like zod being in command of the justice leage or something like that, would be interesting to see. Maybe on one of the episode maybe when Clark was at a funeral there was a cameo from batman like he gives Clark some great advice to perhaps be more trusting of the people he loves. Clark asks his name? Bruce: Wayne, Bruce Wayne
Yeah I would of loved to see the look on Clark's face if he ended up in an alternate world where he did trust Lex only to see that it was a utopia that not even the world his alone actions would create could compare to.
That was the other Zod this was a younger version of his enemy that didn't have anything to do with those events he even had the potential to be different from his original self.
Yeah and Clark should have called Lana out on all the stuff she was doing I would have respected and maintained some respect for him if he done this "Lana you have a choice me or your obsession with Lex." Then when she breaks his trust he drops her like a bad habit. I also would have liked to see moments where Clark would get full of himself and then get knocked down by a big bad or called out. I mean Clark never really learned that there is a point where it's not okay and your not forgiven.
Lana eventually amended for this with clarks help if i remember right but yeah that's all that relationship was some high school crush but they made it into a full fledged relationship which at that point seems should have gone clark stays with lana and lois goes with metallo they had some chemestry in upgrade i think :) Oh they could have done an episode had clark been more honest with lex etc. and see what he actually drove lex too etc. would be a nice seeing clark reflect on what he's done
And then have lois ending up with metallo or something to that effect. Anyway yeah I agree Clark should have gone through something like that which brings me to the whole memory wipe thing for lex at the end :( He makes that speach about being great men only for him to lose his memories like what was the point of that speach if that's going to happen
Yeah I wanted a story arc where Clark was forced by some higher being like Dr. Fate to see how his actions affected and created his villains and for him in that confrontation to show some humility by apologizing and offering up his own life as penance. That would be a good scene with Lex. I also wouldn't have mind someone not being okay with Clark's action's when under red or any other kryptonite like Lois she could of said "I don't care what your on Clark you should have known better!"
Martha kinda did hold him to account in “Crimson”. She pointed out that the Red K only lowered his inhibitions and that there was a grain of truth in what he said.
Cough * Metallo Cough * The only reason over half the main villains even became villains in Smallville was cause simply Clark suck with people. He betrayed them all. :(
The writers make the Kryptonian civilization and culture sound so barbaric and primitive. . We humans have dealt with the desire of revenge and honor killings by establishing laws and courts. A desire for revenge is such a primitive emotion, it is something that must be curbed if civilization is to prosper .. read Eumenides by Aeschylus... instead of revenge, lawful courts, trial by your peers, also, mercy and forgiveness. Revenge killings only sow more violence into a society.
Yeah I mean Clark has told more lies than anyone I think. He can't even tell the truth when he needs to then he goes and acts like it's a big deal when people keep secrets from him.
that's another thing they spent so long on the lana and clark relationship, only for it to end in the worst possible way. That relationship was only supposed to be like the high school crush thing yet then comes lois and they end up together fully in a matter of seconds. Their whole relationship just reminds of the episode when lana comes back. Clarks with Lois, Lois i love you! Lana appears. Later Lois, LANA I LOVE YOU MORE THAN ANYONE EVER COULD! They should have just kept lana and clark
clark just sucks with people in general. Hell look at all the dishonesty between Clark and Lex and here, clark got a fresh start with someone of his own race. Nice job Clark! :p
i know, that's one of the biggest things i've hated about this show. Don't get me wrong I loved it but that's one of the biggest faults Clark has and continued to have until the end of the show. Isn't he supposed to be that symbol we all look up to?
