I love this scene!! It shows how the Clark and Lois relationship fully developed!! They ate also hilarious! I love how Clark keeps sitting down and then standing up as Lois rattles off so much of his backstory!! One thing that didn't change Lois is still in charge of the farm boy!!

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I haaate their dynamic here. She’s emasculating Clark here. Instead of treating him like an adult, she’s momming him. I get that Clark’s trying to decipher their relationship and is super attracted to her, but Lois is just nagging and criticizing and not listening to him.

And yeah so? Some people hate it like you. But in this period of Clark's life, he truly liked her strong "handful" personality to boss him around. And kinda turned on with it as well! And she did those things out of love and fierce protection for him. It's part of her colorful personality. What's important is that Clark accepts that side of her. But yet he can bring out the softer/vulnerable side of her as their relationship deepened as season 10 progressed. Clark is secure with his masculinity. Yet he welcomes Lois "take charge personality" because he felt "stronger with her around"(quote from Pandora episode in season 9). And Clark does not mind Lois' "assertive flair" (quote from season 8 episode Hex). Also, at least she's not pretending to be an overtly sweet demure little miss-- yet hiding a shady dark vindictive personality. 😏

Clark is confused because he saw a new Lois. He is stunned by the fact that he eventually married Lois. The whole "our anniversary" is weird and interesting to him. He was just lost to the gesture of the future Lois Lane. In the past (where Clark came from), Clark and Lois have not even become an item nor is his secret revealed to Lois. Here, Lois already knows everything. So, no emasculation here. She is just caring for her seemingly weird "husband".

True story: several years back i wanted to rewatch this episode for no particular reason outside of it being amongst my favorites of the series. I put it on and when i got to the part where he sees the date- October 17th 2017, i looked at the date it was and it turned out it was October 17th 2017 for me. Not sure if it was a subconscious thing or not but it surprised the hell out of me.
